[The opening montage comes to a close and the feed transitions inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Over 16,000 fans pack the building, where many have immersed themselves into the pandemonium and roar out with deafening cheers. With the uncertainty of victory or defeat looming, the aura is both intoxicating and tense.]

[The main stage, where the fighters scheduled tonight dawn their presence, is littered with carnage and destruction. A heavy fog sits stale, scaffolding strung in multiple directions, and the overall structure glowing red with fire, ash, and embers; something no fighter will soon forget.]

[The toll on both fan and fighter is enormous. The stage of a bloody war is set. The conquerors envision nothing but execution towards success, while the meek is flooded with doubt.]

[Down in the trenches, our very own Toussaint Harper and Warren “Warhead” Williams stand cageside in attention to officially kick off the night.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for Boss Fight XVII! Toussaint Harper here and alongside me is none other than Warren “Warhead” Williams. Tonight, we have a star-studded lineup headlined by two title fights.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

It may be cold outside, but it’s gonna be a scorcher here in Hotlanta. To kickoff the night, we have a Bantamweight Bout scheduled between Lena Lyons and Dang Tay. Both fighters are coming off a tough loss in their own respects. Lena Lyons lost to Yasmine Vermeulen at UGP 17 by TKO due to a patellar dislocation and from the reports by her coaches, she had a spectacular quick recovery and looked phenomenal through camp. Dang Tay was struck with his first defeat in his G2 debut. You can bet that both of these fighters are gonna bring the heat and look to etch one back in the win column.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Our next fight on the card is a Cruiserweight clash between two top five fighters looking to put their name in the contender discussion. Seth Daniels and Michael Santos are on the cusp of breaking into that consideration, but only one will further solidify themselves. Interesting note, this is Daniels’ last fight on his current deal and from what I’ve been told, there have been no talks about any sort of contract negotiations. This fight will have a big impact on the future of this division.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

After that we have a Lightweight bout between two top three contenders. King versus King, Natalie versus Sofia. This one intrigues me the most on the undercard. If Sofia scores the win over the former champ, you would have to believe she would be next in line for a title shot. However, if Natalie wins, is it enough for her to garner another crack at the title, given that she’s 0-2 in title fights against the current Lightweight Champion, Delaney Donovan?

TOUSSAINT HARPER

We’ll cross that bridge if we get there. After that we head into our Co-Main Event of the evening! Zari Aliyah looks to make her first title defense as Bantamweight Champion and also avenge her loss in a rematch against Dallas Meechan. Ole Dally was an unknown when he entered the inaugural Bantamweight Championship Grand Prix as the eighth seed, but quickly put himself on the map when he eliminated top seeded Zari Aliyah. Meechan would continue to turn heads as he then put down Saffron Harris and earned himself a bid into the championships finals. It was there that the Meechan hype train came to a halt as he fell to Lauren Moore in the fourth round. Ironically, Moore’s first title defense was against Aliyah, who stunned the masses and won the strap from her fellow Killa. Now we come full circle and the MMA Gods have got experts and fans alike scratching their heads on who they think has the edge in this fight.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

We see those scenarios all too often. The question is how much has Zari and Dally improved in their own respects since their first encounter and how they have adjusted now they know what to expect from each other. I cannot wait to see this rematch unfold. After that we  will finally move on to the Main Event of the evening. Roscoe Robinson looks to begin his second reign as Cruiserweight Champion off right with a win in his hometown against fellow Real Killa, Jakko Wirman. Robinson has become a face of the industry with his Union GP record setting five title defenses against the best in the world at the 225 pound class. After losing it to Daniel Fisk in the finals of the 2019 Championship Grand Prix, The Shooter reclaimed it one year later to the day of his first title win in a historic trilogy against Fisk. Now a new chapter begins in this young man’s career, and he starts it off with someone he calls a brother not just in the game, but in life in general.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

When you train as hard and as often as they do at Real Killas, you build a type of camaraderie between all of the camp’s fighters that any other camp strives to be. Roscoe and Jakko would run through a wall for each other, and they're gonna do just that tonight and run through each other! This is a big moment for Robinson to try and earn a title defense in his hometown, and give opportunity for Wirman to shock the world. These two know each other like the backs of their hands, so I'll be curious to see if each other can pull a trick play out of the playbook.  It's a Killa Party tonight folks, so let's kick if over to the action inside the octagon. It's bout time!

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell rings and both fighters move to the center to touch gloves. Dang Tay fakes a punch just enough to get Lyons to bite, then shuffles around for a better angle to secure a quick Thai clinch! Lena’s able to avoid being pressed up against the fence, but she doesn’t anticipate a jumping knee from the clinch, and Dang Tay’s able to slam his knee into her chest. Lena visibly winces, but manages to push away from the clinch. She takes a step back to recover her breath, but when Dang Tay pushes forward, she unloads a series of hooks and body shots that send him stumbling right back! Lena pushes forward, throwing punch after punch to try to end this fight quick, but Tay’s able to wrap her up and pull her into the clinch again.]

[This time, Dang Tay’s able to pin Lyons against the cage, and stomps on her feet--more to Lyons’ annoyance than pain, but it keeps her attention long enough for Tay to land a hard punch to the head, followed by a couple more to the body! The official keeps a close eye on Lyons’ defense, but seems satisfied to let the fight continue, and his patience is validated when Lyons manages to push Dang Tay off and circle back to the center of the cage. However, Tay anticipates her movement and throws a high kick, that Lena only just manages to deflect!]

[Lyons backs up from the impact and shakes it off, taking a low kick to the thigh in the process. Tay presses forward and pushes Lyons back against the fence, securing a Thai plum once again. Lyons is quick to push away, but Tay makes the adjustment to keep his clinch, and then drives his knee up into Lyons’ ribs! Lyons gasps and winces, and Tay tries to take advantage by changing up tactics and shooting a powerful double-leg! Lyons is pressed against the fence, though, and manages to fight it off, but Tay’s able to keep the clinch even as Lyons tries to shuck him off.]

[Dang Tay stomps on Lyons’ feet again, but the tactic doesn’t bear the same fruit this time--he goes for an elbow that Lena’s able to block and use to try to escape the clinch, but Dang’s quick to recover his grip. Lena tries to break again, and Dang throws a knee up the middle--but Lena’s able to side-step it, and when the knee goes wide, Lena breaks the clinch! When the fighters turn to face each other again, Dang changes tactics and shoots a takedown one more time, this time managing to secure it! He lands in Lena’s open guard, covering her face with his hands as he tries to pass into half-guard--then into side control! Confident with a couple quick passes, Dang tries to move to mount--but Lena’s able to block and catch a butterfly hook, pushing him away and scrambling to her feet!]

[Dang seems to think he’ll have the advantage on the ground, and shoots another takedown--this time, a single-leg. Lena tries to avoid it, but eventually, Dang’s able to sweep her leg out from under her. He again lands in her guard, but Lena’s able to lock it closed before he can pass. While Dang’s able to open Lena’s guard and land a couple solid punches from on top, when he moves to pass, Lena’s able to block it at every turn. The crowd--and, indeed, the official--start to get impatient with the stalemate on the ground, before Lena’s able to roll Dang over and secure top position for herself!]

[Both fighters trade relatively weak punches to the ribs from on top, before Lena breaks Dang’s guard and jumps to pass--Dang’s able to block it to some extent, but Lena still manages to move into half-guard. She doesn’t get much further than that before the horn sounds and the round ends.]

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[The opening of the second round is much more conservative than round 1--both fighters circle for a few seconds, Lena pushing forward as Dang Tay takes a step back. When Lena pushes forward again, Tay tries a few tentative jabs, but Lena counters with one solid straight down the middle that lands to the forehead! Tay circles away from Lyons, feigning a left before throwing a looping overhand right! Lyons sees it coming, though, and slides out of the way, countering with a pair of quick jabs that connect. Tay looks stunned by the second one, and Lena rushes in to capitalize, landing a few solid punches!]

[Tay recovers himself well enough to parry a punch and grab a desperate clinch, and uses his power to turn her into the cage. He throws a few knees to the thigh, but Lyons is able to check the impact and take advantage, catching Tay’s leg and sweeping it out from under him! Lena takes the extra time to pass straight into side-mount, and after landing a solid knee to the ribs, passes swiftly into full mount! Tay tries to recover his guard, but as he shrimps away, Lena follows and manages to roll him to his stomach, catching a hook while she does so! She tries to secure a rear naked choke, even catching one of Tay’s arms with her free leg, but Tay manages to get his chin tucked and defends the choke!]

[After some struggle, Tay manages to turn over and takes top position, inside Lena’s guard! He covers her face with both hands before breaking her guard open and moving to pass, first into half-guard, then side mount! Tay throws a few elbows from on top, but Lyons covers up well and doesn’t take too much impact from them. He tries to move into full-mount, by Lyon’s sees it coming and catches him into half-guard! Tay tries to improve his position, but Lyons gets the upper hand and moves back to full guard.]

[The effort on the ground seems to be taking Tay’s air from him, as he takes a few deep breaths before trying to pass again--but Lyons swiftly reverses him, and turns him over into full mount! Tay scrambles for a reversal of his own, and as Lena throws a punch downward, Tay traps it and turns her back over into guard. Again, he struggles to pass Lena’s guard, but eventually she opens it and he tries to move into side-control--but Lena turns him right back over, landing in full mount once again!]

[Tay throws a punch aimed at the liver from underneath, then scrambles to get his hooks in so he can make space. Lena tries to maintain her position, but Tay’s able to scramble out from underneath her and get back to his feet, although he looks winded by this point. Lena pushes forward, but Tay doesn’t engage right away, just circling away from her. When she keeps pressing forward, though, he throws a kick to the ribs that lands with a hard thud, and causes Lena’s face to cringe. Tay secures a Thai clinch once again, pushing Lena up against the cage as a chance to control her and get his breath back. Lena doesn’t let it hold, though--she pushes away and circles back to the center of the cage, beckoning Tay forward.]

[Tay feigns a left, then follows up with a right uppercut, but Lena parries it easily. She counters with a high kick that lands solidly and wobbles Tay! She follows up with a barrage of punches to the ribs and to the head! The crowd cheers as Lena pursues a knockout, but the official steps in between the two, and for a second, Lena thinks she’s won--but the horn to end the round was drowned out by the crowd noise. It’s just the end of round 2.]

=========================================

ROUND THREE

=========================================

[Round 3 begins and both fighters meet in the center of the cage, circling and pawing with jabs. Lena parries one of Dang’s jabs, then unleashes a series of punches that pushes Tay from one end of the cage to the other! The official keeps a close eye on the punishment Tay’s taking, as Lyons lands a series of solid punches, but Tay is able to defend a good portion of them and eventually circles away from the pressure. Lena tries to shoot a takedown, but when Tay starts to throw a roundhouse kick, Lena backs away from the shot.]

[Tay shoots a takedown of his own, and manages to capture Lena’s leg--but she’s able to free it before he can actually get her to the mat, and counters by throwing a high kick that lands to Tay’s neck! He stumbles backward, but manages to throw a few punches to keep Lena off him for the moment. Lena stays in the center of the cage, beckoning Tay forward again--which he responds to by swinging a looping right hand that misses wildly. Lena counters with a couple jabs, but Dang Tay eats them and moves forward to try to catch a clinch--he catches her at first, but Lena’s able to push away before he can really take control of the fight.]

[Lena turns up the aggression, landing a quick one-two, followed by a powerful right hook that connects to Tay’s jaw! He almost goes down, and Lena tries to take advantage by slamming a brutal high kick into the side of his head! Somehow, Tay’s still on his feet, though--but Lena relentlessly pursues this win, throwing straight punches with looping punches that connect with echoing thuds. Tay tries to counter, but Lena throws another high kick that connects and knocks him back--but still, not down!]

[Lena lands a strong teep to the sternum that stumbles Dang Tay back. He tries to circle around and catch a clinch, but Lena’s easily able to avoid it. Tay looks very gassed by this point, and seems desperate catch control of the clinch to try to save the round, but Lena doesn’t let him get close--instead, she connects with a series of straight punches that cause a cut on the lower right cheek. Lena keeps throwing, and keeps landing, and the official warns Dang Tay that he needs to defend himself--he does just enough to keep the fight from being stopped, but Lena doesn’t let up, landing a kick to the side of the knee that nearly buckles it from under Dang Tay! As the claps sound to signal ten seconds left in the round, Lena suddenly spins and connects with a spinning back fist that slams into Tay’s chin! He might just be out, but the horn sounds before the official can call the fight, and we’re going to the scorecards.]

[The opening bell sounds and the fight gets underway. Daniels and Santos close the distance and waste no time swinging on each other and Daniels connects with a few punches while dodging jabs. Daniels presses forward and Santos catches him with an uppercut to the face! Daniels stumbles back and Santos changes levels and hits a single leg takedown.]

Santos lands in side mount and Daniels sees an opening and locks his opponent in half guard. Daniels works from the bottom as he reaches under and rolls for a kneebar! Santos blocks the attempt and uses the opportunity to seize half guard. Santos throws a lot of punches and hammer fists with little effect other than keeping Daniels in a defensive state. Santos tries to move in the ground to improve his position, but Daniels keeps tight on his opponent. Santos eventually positions himself for some ground and pound and tries to finish the fight with some precise elbows, but he gets sloppy and Daniels is able to cover up. Daniels sees an opening and slides his legs high to try to apply a triangle but Santos cuts to the side and manages to pass to side mount.]

[Michael Santos slides his knee across, looking for the full mount, and after a brief struggle he gets it. Santos positions himself for a round of ground and pound and tries to finish the fight with some precise elbows! One, two, three! Daniels is being punished here and could be in trouble! Heavy bombs from the top continue to rain down by Michael Santos. Daniels is unable to cover himself now! Daniels is trying like hell to block the shots, but Santos is able to keep slipping his defense and land a lot of brutal shots. Daniels needs to improve his position! Santos leans back and mauls Daniels' face with a huge punch with all of his weight behind it! Michael Santos turns out the lights for Seth Daniels! What an astonishing KO!]

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighters touch gloves to get this one started. Natalie King moves forward and launches a vicious high kick right out of the gate! Sofia eats the kick and already has a small cut on her left cheek as she stumbles back. Natalie pressures in but Sofia drops levels and catches Nat’s far ankle and trips her to the mat! Slick takedown by Sofia King.]

[Natalie is quick to close her guard on the ground. She pummels from the bottom and reversed the positioning with a roll and is now in full mount over Sofia! The two pummel back and forth on the ground and Natalie rocks Sofia with a headbutt! Dusty Whittaker saw it! Dusty Whittaker stops the action and allows Sofia time to recover. Whittaker gives Natalie a warning, given the fact it clearly didn’t look intentional. The fight resumes with both fighters standing and you can hear how the crowd agrees with that decision.]

[Back on their feet, both fighters touch gloves and continue on. Sofia bobs and weaves before ducking under and grabbing her opponent by the waist and takes the fight back to the ground. Great takedown. Sofia is in open guard and works her way to full mount. Sofia is being very methodical on the ground and doesn’t force anything just yet. She then sees an opportunity and catches Natalie’s arm and pulls back for an armbar!]

[Sofia is fighting off Natalie’s attempt to escape and that armbar is looking tight! Sofia locks it in and it appears to be unbreakable! Natalie continues to squirm on the bottom, trying anything she can to escape, or at the very least, keep from tapping. Natalie uses her long legs to change up the leverage, and somehow breaks the lock and closes her guard around Sofia!]

[Natalie doesn't want to continue the fight on the ground and moves fast to get back standing on her feet. Sofia quickly follows her up and both fighters have climbed to their feet and they continue the fight standing. The Atlanta crowd cheers both fighters on as they circle around back to the center of the octagon. Sofia sees an opening while Natalie is trying to recover and rushes in with a three piece combo and Natalie may be in trouble! Nat circles her way out of further danger and the crowd gets riled up!]

[Both fighters slowly circle back around to the center of the cage. A left hook from Sofia falls short. She then fakes a punch and shows some footwork moving aside. Just as she side steps, Natalie comes firing in with a hellacious head kick! You could hear the impact from the back seats! Sofia King seems hurt! She stumbles backwards and she's an easy target! Natalie launches a leg kick that almost folds Sofia’s knee!]

[Natalie rushes in a puts Sofia in a tight Muay Thai clinch. Sofia tries to shrug her way out but Nat is determined and pummels through to retain her position and backs Sofia up against the fence. Nat garners a bit of separation in the clinch and begins unloading brutal knees to the face, followed by knees to the body! Sofia tries to fend them off but Nat powers through. Sofia can’t take many more shots like that and Dusty Whittaker has seen enough! The fight is over! Sofia was not intelligently defending herself!]

FAN POLL: 59% Dallas Meechan

REFEREE: Jordan Ripley

OG_RD1.png

[The horn sounds and Dallas Meechan moves forward quickly, jabbing a couple times to try to draw Zari into an early mistake--which the champion doesn’t make, although a third jab from Meechan gets through, but it seems to have made contact with Zari’s eye! Either Jordan Ripley missed it, or Zari’s not concerned, as the fight moves forward--and Meechan puts the pressure in, securing a Thai clinch and looking for a big knee! Zari’s able to push him away before it makes contact, though, and circles out of the clinch. Meechan tries to slow Zari down with a low leg kick, but Zari checks it easily--it’s as much as feint as anything, though, as Meechan follows up with a series of punches that connect, hard, with Zari’s face, sending the champion stumbling backwards!]

[Zari throws a few punches in response, but doesn’t connect with much steam--it does slow down Dallas’s attack for a moment, though, which may have been her goal. Meechan’s not deterred, though, and pushes forward to catch a Thai clinch again! Zari may have baited him in, though, as no sooner does he have the clinch than she counters with a jumping knee that connects perfectly to the chest, and drops Dallas to the mat! Zari moves to pass Dallas’s legs, but he throws an up-kick that lands flush to the chin, and snaps Zari’s head back! Zari takes a couple steps back and shakes the impact off, and Jordan Ripley stands Dallas up.]

[Meechan throws a quick one-two combo, then a low leg kick, but nothing connects with any steam--Zari counters the low kick with a middle-kick, but when she sees Dallas prepared for it, she switches up and tags him in the chin with a question mark kick! Meechan stumbles back, and there’s swelling on his cheek already! He throws a couple punches to keep Zari at bay, but she changes tactics and shoots for a takedown--which Dallas blocks by driving his knee forward! The crowd explodes as the champion drops, but she’s not out and scrambles for that takedown she was going for! Dallas shrugs her aside and takes a step back, beckoning Zari forward.]

[Zari catches her breath and shakes off the impact, putting her guard up just in time, as Dallas throws a looping right hand! She deflects the impact and counters with a straight jab that snaps Dallas’s head back--and, seeing that, the champion pursues a finish of her own, throwing several straight punches that connect with varying impact. Meechan’s staggered, but not out, and when he sees an opportunity, tags Zari with a powerful cross! But, again, it made contact with Zari’s eye--and this time, Jordan Ripley did see it, halting the fight to let Zari recover.]

[Despite getting five minutes to recover, Zari’s ready much quicker than that, and the right resumes standing up. Meechan seems to have his timing down, at least, as he tags Zari with a right hand, then a powerful hook that buckles the champion’s knees! Zari recovers quickly, though, and keeps Dallas at bay with a few kicks from her back. Rather than engage, Dallas backs up and lets Zari get to her feet.]

[Once she’s back up, Dallas jabs his way into another clinch, but Zari recovers well enough to only let him get as far as an over-under clinch. She tags him in the ribs with a few hard punches, but when he counters with a knee to her thigh, Zari almost loses her balance! Dallas smells blood and fires off a series of hard shots to the temple and to the ribs, and the official warns the champion that she needs to fight back if she wants to stay in the fight. Dallas throws a strong, jumping knee, but Zari knew it was coming and managed to make enough space that he couldn’t connect.]

[Despite the space, Zari can’t break the clinch, and Dallas unloads with several knees to the thighs. She finally checks the impact and Dallas’ impact connects with Zari’s own knee, the force of which makes Dallas wince--and gives Zari an opportunity. She moves into a Thai clinch of her own, and throws a fast, powerful knee to Dallas’s chin! Dallas just shouts in frustration, and throws another jumping knee of his own--this time, connecting hard with Zari’s face, and dropping the champion to the mat again! Zari keeps him at bay, but Dallas lands a series of thunderous kicks to the champ’s legs. Eventually, Jordan Ripley stands Zari up--only for the horn to sound, as round 1 ends.]

OG_RD2.png

[Dallas keeps his aggression up at the beginning of round 2, quickly jabbing his way into a clinch, that he then moves into a Thai plum and throws a quick flying knee! Zari’s able to see it coming, though, and gets her hands in place to protect herself before she takes any impact. From there, though, the clinch stalls out--every move Dallas makes, Zari blocks, and vice versa. After several seconds of stalemate, Jordan Ripley separates them--and the two start throwing, wildly! Powerful shots from both fighters connect, and the crowd jumps to their feet with each impact, knowing any one might end the fight!]

[Dallas changes things up by throwing a quick middle kick, but Zari takes a step back to stay out of range. Dallas doesn’t waver, though, and steps in to throw a second, this one connecting into Zari’s liver! She wrenches, but doesn’t go down--and Dallas pushes forward, throwing rapid punches! Most miss, but the ones that land, land hard, and after absorbing a few shots, Zari’s clearly rocked!]

[Dallas can’t capitalize, though, as Zari takes a few steps back to catch her breath. Dallas throws a series of kicks, first a middle kick that Zari blocks with her arms, then a low leg kick that Zari checks. Dallas follows up with a strong hook to the ribs that lands with a hard thud, then grabs a Thai clinch once again! Before he can do much damage, though, Zari escapes the clinch and circles away from Dallas.]

[Champion and challenger take a moment to measure each other, then, again, exchange wild punches--Zari connects with a couple, but Dallas connects harder. Neither look to have done significant damage, though, until Dallas uncorks a quick three-punch combo that connects! He follows up with a high kick that Zari tries to block, but Dallas’s kick is to fast, and it slams into her cheek! Zari stumbles backwards, but stays on her feet--until Dallas connects with another two punch combo, a straight then a right hook!]

[Dallas tags Zari’s leg with a kick before stepping back to let her stand up again. Not liking the way the striking is going, Zari shoots for a takedown--and eats a kick to the head for her troubles! Despite all the punishment, though, the champion’s still in the fight, and Dallas presses forward into another clinch, pinning her against the cage. He tags Zari’s thighs with a few knees, then launches one high, that connects with her chin! Zari’s clearly hurt, but works to make space--but Dallas keeps his grip on the champion.]

[Another strong knee from Dallas, this one to the ribs, buckles Zari’s knees--but Dallas has no interest in engaging on the ground, and lets her stand back up. No sooner is Zari on her feet than she’s the recipient of a flurry of punches that stun her once again! Jordan Ripley warns Zari again that he could stop the fight if she doesn’t fight back, but she’s able to get away from Dallas’s pressure and make space for herself. Dallas seems to sense he’s on the verge of a win, though, and keeps pushing forward--he tags Zari with a quick hook that doesn’t do much but graze her, then follows up with a high kick that lands with a loud thud! Zari initiates a clinch this time, which Dallas is happy to work from...and, eventually, counter, as the stunned champion isn’t able to stop him from taking the Thai plum again.]

[Dallas pushes Zari into the fence and throws a few punches, but nothing that does a major amount of damage to the champion. Zari holds on as best she can--until the horn blares, and ends the round.]

[Dallas starts the round like he started the others--aggressive; he throws a few jabs that Zari blocks, but when she starts to counter, he tags her with a huge hook to the chin! The crowd explodes as the champion falls to the mat again, but Jordan Ripley isn’t stopping the fight. Zari keeps Dallas at bay with a few kicks from her back, but Dallas tags her back with much more solid kicks to the legs! Four, five, six shots to the thighs of the champion before Jordan RIpley steps in to stand Zari back up--where she eats a quick hook to the forehead that opens a small cut!]

[Zari starts throwing more wild punches, which Dallas takes advantage of and connects with a series of jabs and crosses that causes Zari’s cheek to swell even worse than earlier, and opens another little cut on Zari’s forehead. The champion’s dazed as she takes punch after punch, and Dallas keeps pouring the pressure on--his straight punches are blocked, but Zari can’t avoid the impact of another strong hook that sends her stumbling back! Dallas tags her with a kick to the side of the knee that buckles her, and sends her back to the mat!]

[Dallas doesn’t engage on the ground, rather letting the champion stand up--and when she does, we get a glimpse of Zari’s face, covered in blood from the cuts on her forehead and cheek. Whether it’s affecting her vision or not is up for debate, but she takes time to wipe the blood out of her eyes before engaging with Dallas again. Dallas lands a series of low kicks, only one of which Zari even tries to check--but she may have found a second wind, as she pushes forward and throws a few punches that, while sloppier than before, at least make contact with her challenger! But Dallas puts a stop to her momentum as quickly as it started, and tags her with a huge right hand beneath the eye!]

[Meechan might be punching himself out, as he takes a step backward to catch his breath, instead allowing Zari to be the aggressor for a moment. Zari connects with a few punches to counter the jabs Dallas throws, but she’s losing blood and burning energy herself, so there’s no major damage--and now she’s in close, where Dallas tags her with a series of quick, powerful shots! Zari pushes forward and grabs a clinch, but Dallas is able to take control of it! He lands a series of knees to the thigh, then a powerful knee up the middle that hits Zari beneath the sternum! She stumbles away from the clinch and drops to the mat again!]

[Zari stays on her back, trying to goad Dallas into engaging on the ground, but he doesn’t go for it--eventually, Jordan Ripley stands Zari up, and once the fight restarts, she immediately shoots for a takedown! Dallas throws a kick to counter that just misses, but it stops Zari from taking him down. Before any more action can take place, the horn blows and round 3 ends.]

OG_RD4.png

[Despite looking a little winded by the end of the third round, Dallas comes out just as aggressive as before, throwing a high kick that connects to start the round! Zari seems stunned straight out the gate, and Dallas tags her with a one-two combo that jacks Zari’s head and opens those cuts back up. Dallas pushes forward, throwing more punches that are more to try to stagger Zari than really knock her out, but he then connects with another huge head kick! And the swelling on Zari’s cheek gets worse and worse!]

[Dallas catches Zari’s head in a Thai plum once again and pushes her back to the cage, but Zari’s able to recover enough to block any offense Dallas might be trying to pour on. She can’t escape on her own, though, and relies on Jordan Ripley eventually breaking the clinch after a period of inactivity. Once they’re separated, Zari desperately moves forward, throwing wild punches in hopes of a knockout--but Dallas counters with a strong straight punch that sends the champion stumbling back against the fence. He throws heavy punches at the trapped champion, but only a few really land--those that do, though, land hard!]

[Zari manages to escape the barrage--only just, though, before Dallas catches her head once again, throwing a couple uppercuts from a collar tie-up before moving into the Thai plum once again. Zari tries to get away, but Dallas forces her back into the cage and throws a knee straight up the gut, driving the air out of the champion. Both fighters look winded, but Dallas presses his attack, driving his knee forward again--this one might’ve been low! Jordan Ripley seems happy enough with the strike, though, and the fight continues, with Zari hanging on as best she can.]

[Eventually, the clinch is broken by the official, and the fight is restarted--and Zari tries throwing some wild punches, that Dallas easily counters with a quick three punch combo! Backing the champion against the cage, Dallas uncorks a huge series of straight and overhand punches that connect, Zari’s guard doing virtually nothing to stop the impact at this point, before she crumbles to the mat and Jordan Ripley jumps in to stop the fight!]

FAN POLL: 69% Roscoe Robinson

REFEREE: Willie Green

OG_RD1.png

[Champion and challenger meet in the middle, taking their time gauging each other and the distance between them. Roscoe paws with a few jabs, but never makes any real contact; Wirman parries every punch that comes close, but doesn’t notice until it’s too late that Roscoe’s turned his hips and slammed a powerful kick into the side of his knee! Robinson follows up with a double-jab that connects to the forehead, but the second punch may have touched Wirman’s eye--Willie Green didn’t notice, though, and the fight continues. If Roscoe’s punch did make contact with Wirman’s eye, it doesn’t do much to impact his ability to dodge, as Robinson launches a stiff one-two combo that Wirman’s able to easily avoid.]

[Roscoe throws a high kick but misses terribly--and Wirman uses the opportunity to shoot a double-leg takedown, bringing Roscoe to the ground powerfully! Jakko tries to pass, but Roscoe’s able to close his guard and pull Wirman in close to stop his movement. Wirman throws a series of shots to Roscoe’s ribs, but they don’t cause much impact--though they are enough to get his attention, and Wirman tries to pass again. Roscoe’s ready this time, and he rolls Wirman over, now on top in half-guard!]

[Roscoe postures up and looks to pass into side control, but Wirman blocks his movement and rolls underneath instead, looking for a kneebar! Roscoe’s easily able to defend it, though, and forces his way back on top. Wirman reclaims his half-guard, and when Roscoe drops a heavy punch, he only just gets out of the way, locking an overhook around the arm and torquing an armpit Americana! Roscoe winces, but is able to free his arm from danger. He takes advantage of Wirman’s commitment to the hold and passes into side-mount, then quickly into full mount!]

[Wirman tries to shrimp out and regain half-guard, but Roscoe blocks any movement and cracks him with a punch. Wirman’s struggle gets a bit more antsy, but when Roscoe throws another punch, he’s able to avoid it and move into half-guard! The action stalls there, though, with Wirman locking Robinson down and no more than a few less than impactful punches landing to the ribs. Willie Green stands the two up after a while, to the approval of the crowd.]

[Back on the feet, Roscoe’s on the attack, throwing a quick jab that grazes Wirman’s cheek, followed by a furious low kick--that Wirman only just manages to check! Wirman circles away, but Roscoe switches stance and throws a looping left hook--again, though, Wirman’s able to duck the punch and take advantage of Roscoe’s aggression, shooting another double-leg that dumps the champion on his back again! Roscoe’s able to lock his guard though, and keep Wirman in place.]

[Roscoe tries to sweep Wirman, but Wirman’s able to keep his position--the first time. But Roscoe doubles down and turns Wirman over, now in full mount! Roscoe postures up, but before he can do anything offensive, Wirman tries to escape to half-guard...and instead, gets turned all the way over! Roscoe rolls him to his stomach and takes the back with one hook in! Roscoe reaches for a rear-naked choke, but with only one hook, he doesn’t have the control he needs, and Wirman’s able to catch his arm and keep it pinned. He turns Roscoe over and takes half-guard for himself, then passes into side control!]

[Wirman pins his knee in Roscoe’s chest and spins for a kneebar, but Roscoe’s able to kick him away and move on top, but Wirman recovers his guard! It’s a stalemate there, though, and the two are eventually stood up by Willie Green. Roscoe launches a strong leg kick on the restart, but Wirman checks it and counters with one of his own, before the horn sounds to end the round.]

OG_RD2.png

[The two touch gloves to start the second round, and Roscoe launches a strong hook to the body that Wirman absorbs, followed by two jabs that catch him in the face. Roscoe throws a middle kick that Wirman deflects and counters with a high kick of his own that connects under the chin! The champion’s stunned and Wirman shoots a single leg--and, after a bit of struggle, sweeps Roscoe’s leg out from under him, taking him down once again! Roscoe closes his guard in an attempt to keep Wirman in place like last time, but Wirman frees his hips and passes to half-guard.]

[Roscoe doesn’t seem to want to be where he’s at, and scrambles to get to his feet--but Jakko times it perfectly, and as Roscoe starts to come up, Wirman snatches a guillotine choke! Wirman sits back into his own guard, and the choke looks tight--but Roscoe’s able to pop his head out! He doesn’t have time to relax, though, as Wirman throws up an armbar--but Roscoe’s able to pull his arm free easily, and passes into side-control! Robinson covers Wirman’s face with one hand as he looks to pass to mount, but there’s a groan from underneath, as Robinson’s finger makes contact with Jakko’s eye! This time, Willie Green saw it, and breaks the fight to allow Wirman to recover.]

[Wirman takes some time to get his vision back, and the fight restarts standing up. Roscoe throws a wild punch at Wirman’s body, but is misses wildly. The two trade leg kicks before Jakko feigns a punch and pushes into clinching range, grabbing double-underhooks and pushing the champion against the cage! Roscoe manages to pummel out and throws a knee to the body, but he can’t do much else before Jakko pushes him away and the two resume in the center of the cage.]

[Wirman shoots another single leg takedown, but Roscoe’s able to resist--at first, but eventually, he gets swept back to the ground! Jakko throws his legs aside and passes into side control, quickly isolating an arm and looking for an armbar! It looks deep--but Roscoe manages to sit up and pull his arm free, now in Jakko’s guard. Wirman throws a few punches at Roscoe’s ribs from underneath, but there’s not much steam on them. Roscoe tries to pass into side control, but Wirman rolls with the movement and ends up on top! Roscoe quickly recovers his guard and tries to escape back to his feet, but Wirman is having none of it.]

[Every time Roscoe starts to escape, Wirman shuts him down--so Roscoe goes a different route, and sweeps Wirman to his back! Roscoe takes full mount, but Wirman’s able to escape back to his guard without taking much punishment. It’s only a brief reprieve, though; Roscoe throws a few punches that get Jakko’s attention, then he passes all the way to mount again! Wirman knows he’s in danger here, and scrambles to recover his guard--and, rather than risk Roscoe getting mount again, he locks his guard and just holds the champion in place. Willie Green lets it go for a bit to see if Roscoe can pass, but when it stalemates, he stands the two up.]

[Roscoe circles around the cage, looking for an angle to attack, but every punch he throws is countered--and Wirman’s able to uncork a solid three punch combo that pushes the champion back! Roscoe moves forward again, throwing a teep kick to the sternum that physically forces Wirman back a few steps, then launches a looping right hand--that Wirman only just avoids, and counters with an overhand of his own! Roscoe staggers back a step, and Wirman pushes the pace, throwing a series of straight punches that connect! With the champion on the back foot, Jakko shoots a double-leg takedown and easily brings Roscoe back to the mat! Before he can do much with it, though, the horn sounds and round 2 ends.]

OG_RD3.png

[Roscoe starts the round off with a huge straight right hand, followed by a left hook that clips Wirman on the chin! He falls to the mat, but he’s not out, rolling to his back and keeping Roscoe at bay with up-kicks. Roscoe doesn’t engage, though, and Willie Green stands Wirman up. The champion presses forward, looking for a hole in the challenger’s defense--then throws a huge right hand to the chin! Wirman manages to deflect the punch, though, and pushes forward into a body-lock, that he uses to drag Roscoe back to the mat once again!]

[Wirman tries to pass into side-control before Roscoe can react, but the champion’s able to block the transition and recovers his full guard. Jakko mixes up his punches, body-body-head, then manages to pass into half-guard, then side-control! Ambitious, Wirman moves to take full mount--but Roscoe’s able to anticipate the pass, and recovers his guard instead! Wirman tries to pass, but Roscoe blocks it--and sweeps Wirman over, taking full mount for himself! Wirman quickly works his way out of the mount, though--Roscoe winds up one of those big hammers, but misses and Wirman locks his arm, turning him over to his back!]

[Now in Roscoe’s guard, Wirman postures up and starts raining down a flurry of punches to Robinson’s face! Several land, and Willie Green warns the champion to defend himself. He eats a couple more, but Roscoe’s able to catch one of Jakko’s arms to put a stop to the assault, and after a struggle, he turns Jakko back over! Jakko manages to keep his half-guard and prevents Roscoe from getting full-mount, but the champion’s back on top! Robinson tries to pass, but Wirman blocks it--but, similarly, Roscoe blocks Jakko’s attempts to recover his full guard. At a stalemate, Willie Green stands them up again.]

[Back on their feet, both champion and challenger start throwing big punches at one another--and Wirman gets the better of that exchange, landing several solid shots on the champion! With Roscoe again on the back foot, Jakko shoots for a single leg takedown and drags him down to the mat once again! This time, though, the stalemate happens almost immediately--Roscoe can’t get back to his feet, but Wirman can’t pass to improve his position, and after quite a while, they’re stood up again.]

[Roscoe throws a wild punch at Jakko’s body, but misses wide. Recognizing the pattern, though, the champion steps back before Jakko can shoot another takedown, taking a few seconds to recover his breath. Jakko jabs his way into range again, then shoots for a double-leg takedown! Once again, he gets it, and wastes no time in sitting back for a straight ankle lock! Roscoe’s able to kick himself free, though, but isn’t able to get a better position, with Wirman on top in his guard. Wirman throws a lot of punches to the body, but none land with any major impact before the horn sounds for the end of round 3.]

OG_RD4.png

[Robinson opens the round with a powerful body kick, but Wirman’s able to step back and avoid it. He doesn’t avoid a quick double-jab combo, though, both landing to the face. Robinson seems to have found his range already this round, and launches a barrage of straight punches! Some connect, but mostly, Wirman’s able to avoid danger. Roscoe’s overcommitment, though, allows Wirman the chance to get in close and catch a Thai plum! Robisnon’s able to push him away just as quickly, though, and the fight resumes in the center.]

[Robinson launches a furious leg kick, but Wirman’s able to check it! When Roscoe tries again with the opposite leg, Wirman steps in and catches a Thai clinch once again! Roscoe pummels his back off the cage and forces Jakko back against it, throwing a few uppercuts that connect! Jakko releases the clinch and circles away to make some space. Robinson lands that vicious low kick this time--then another, and another, and another! He ends the flurry of kicks with a kick to the liver, but Wirman’s able to block that one.]

[Both men throw powerful shots at one another, and the crowd’s excitement builds with each connection, knowing it could be the end! Roscoe dodges a punch and throws a middle kick, but Wirman avoids it and snaps out a kick of his own--it looks like it’s aimed at the thigh, but in a flash, he switches and throws a high kick! Roscoe takes a step back to shake off the effects, as Wirman pushes forward--and gets cracked with a right hand that causes Jakko to stumble backwards!]

[Robinson throws a middle kick that doesn’t make much contact, but Jakko counters with a low leg kick of his own! It’s the most offense he’ll get, though, before Robinson unloads a vicious series of punches--a hook to the body, followed by a knee up the gut, and when Wirman backs up a step, Roscoe throws a flying knee that connects flush with the jaw! Wirman’s mouthpiece goes flying, and he’s obviously groggy--and unable to block, as Roscoe throws a head kick that connects with the side of his head, sending the challenger to the mat! Willie Green rushes in to prevent any extra damage to Wirman, but there wasn’t any coming--Roscoe’s already celebrating!]
