BACKSTORY

Travis is a soft spoken man, to a point. He says what he needs to say, and he says it with conviction. He doesn't feed into bravado and dick measuring contests. He only really focused on his MMA career over the last year or so, and in that time he has been incredibly focused on achieving his goal and becoming one of the best fighters in the world, but has the patience to understand its not going to happen overnight. He carries that same focus and patience into his fights, taking his time, letting his opponent make the first move and waiting to counter attack. He takes his time and keeps his cool, waiting to unleash when the moment arrives.

Travis grew up in Chicago, and was a wrestling fan from a young age, and went into wrestling school as a teenager. However, when he discovered how much MMA was taking off and what was involved with it, he decided to pursue that with everything he had, adapting what was applicable from his wrestling training and expanding from there. Now apart of Union GP, he looks to climb the ranks and one day become champion.

FIGHTING STYLE

PRIMARY: Kickboxing

SECONDARY: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling

STANCE: Orthodox

STRENGTHS

  1. Determination: He's worked hard to get where he is, he's not going to waste this opportunity. Even if a fight looks hopeless he will not give up until the final bell sounds.

  2. Patient: Travis has a gas tank on him and is not afraid to take his time for his strikes. He waits for his moment, then makes the most of it.

  3. Counter Striking: Travis has combined the original standup skills before he joined Real Killas, with the patience and technique he gained with them, to develop a hybrid striking style that seems to really gel with him.

WEAKNESSES

  1. Ground Game: While before his hiatus Travis was getting a handle on his ground game, it never really meshed for him, and now that he is back to relying on his kickboxing roots, it's even less stable than before

  2. Lack of Offense: Travis is a counter striker, so if he is against another patient opponent or someone that also excels at counters, he may be forced to push the pace, which is out of his comfort zone.

  3. Tunnel Vision: Because of his career up to this point Travis feels like he has something to prove, driven to not only win his fights but to be impressive, making him willing to perhaps reach beyond his means and put himself in danger in order to feel like he deserves his spot.
