VIKING PAVILION

PORTLAND, OREGON

OCTOBER 20, 2018

[After the opening intro video finishes up, we transition into the Viking Pavilion which is packed with 3,775 fans in attendance. The crowd is on their feet cheering in anticipation for the night’s bouts. Camera angles pan around the building from one point to another, catching fans, athletes, and celebrities in attendance. We then transition to meet Patrick Carson and Nora Bauer standing cageside.]

PATRICK CARSON
Welcome ladies and gentlemen, we are live on the Battleground Network at the Viking Pavilion in Portland, Oregon and this is Boss Fight #2! I'm Patrick Carson and alongside me is the ever so beautiful Nora Bauer.

NORA BAUER
Easy Patrick, you're married now!

PATRICK CARSON

Happily married! Folks, tonight we have in store five fights filled with debuts, redemption, and title contentions. And let's start off with the opening fight of the night. We have a Middleweight Division bout with Sang-Hyun Lee taking on the debuting Robert Guilliman.

NORA BAUER
Lee made his debut two weeks ago at Boss Fight #1 where he looks overwhelmed and under-prepared for Edan McLeod. Robert Guilliman poses the same threats as "The Natural" McLeod did with his elite striking abilities. Big call to answer for Lee to see if he has improved his stand up game at all, or at the very least,
be more assertive in taking the fight to the ground where he has been known to excel at.

PATRICK CARSON

Next up, another debuting fight with Finland's own Jakko Wirman taking on "Mad" Maxine.

NORA BAUER

From what we've gathered, Wirman is another great stand up striker, but he can also hold his own on the ground. What I'm looking for in this fight is how Maxine responds after losing in short order to Daniel Fisk in the Cruiserweight Tournament. Has she regrouped and kept that loss behind her? Or will it play a role in her psyche and keep her off her game?

PATRICK CARSON

After that, we have a bout with two Cruiserweight fighters who lost in the opening round of the championship tournament. Kevin Van Damne squares up against Vikor Volkov.

NORA BAUER

This is one of those fights for redemption. Both fighter sit at 0-1, and need to secure a victory here to keep their names in the title talks. Another consecutive loss here tonight will certainly create a long road to travel back up the ranks.

PATRICK CARSON

then in our Headline Fight tonight, Jeremiah Ford battles Kira Izumi in their final fight in the Middleweight round robin.

NORA BAUER

Jeremiah Ford is still pushing towards that title fight, but Kira is mathematically eliminated. But Something you'll hear us talk about a lot tonight, misery loves company!

PATRICK CARSON

And then our Main Event of the evening, the final Middleweight round robin fight between Simon Bishop and Cristian Bonanno.

NORA BAUER

Before these round robin fights even began, a majority of the fans believed this would be the match up for the Middleweight Title. Simon Bishop is a product of Real Killas MMA and Cristian Bonanno proudly beats his chest for Throne MMA. Two world class camps and it shows with these fighters. There's a lot of muddy hypothetical scenarios on who will move on for a title shot in the Middleweight Division, but all these fighters can worry about right now is securing that victory and let the higher ups deal with the fine print!

PATRICK CARSON

Couldn't agree more. And now folks, it's time to kick off this show, so let's toss it over to Mike Dempsey awaiting inside the octagon!

MISTAKE BY DRUG RESTAURANT

BEGINS TO PLAY

[“Mistake” by Drug Restaurant blasts over the loudspeaker and Sang-Hyundai Lee emerges to the stage wearing his green and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Lee has a focused stare in his eyes as he makes his way down the ramp. He makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he jogs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

Coming out now is Sang-Hyun Lee, who had a rather underwhelming debut at Boss Fight #1 against Edan McLeod.

NORA BAUER

Lee simply couldn’t get anything going, as McLeod suffocated Lee with vicious combo strikes and kept Lee guessing. Tonight he has another challenge against an elite striker, let’s see if he’s improved his stand up since then.

ANGELS OF DEATH BY DOYLE W. DONEHOO

BEGINS TO PLAY

[The arena lights die down for a brief moment as the chords of "Angels of Death by Doyle D. Donehoo blare throughout the P.A. system, then flicker between blue and white as "The Primarch" Robert Guilliman strides out of the entrance.]

[He marches down the hall decidedly, with a heavy air of concentration about him, then salutes solemnly to the audience and staff, before he enters the cage and starts a small warm-up routine.]

PATRICK CARSON

Making his Union GP debut tonight, Robert Guilliman is ready to make his mark on the big stage. As we mentioned, Guilliman is an excellent striker, but don’t underestimate his ground game. He’s more than capable to finish a fight on the mat.

NORA BAUER

A solid all-rounder honestly, and yes he’s relatively unknown on the major circuits, but he’s been accepted and training at Real Killas MMA. They don’t just accept antibody into their camp, so that right there should tell you this guy has a ton of potential.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the Viking Pavilion in Portland, Oregon for Boss Fight #2! And now, this opening fight is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Middleweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a wrestler disciplined in Hapkido with a record of 0-1. He stands 6’ even and weighing in at 185 pounds. From Daegu, South Korea, he is “The Technical Wizard” Sang-Hyun Lee!

[Sang-Hyun Lee raises an arm as he shifts back and forth with full focus.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer with a record of 0-0. He stands 6’1” and weighing in at 185 pounds. From Los Angeles, California, fighting out of Real Killas MMA, he is “The Primarch” Robert Guilliman!

[Robert Guilliman looks a bit uneasy as he bounces in place. He gives a slight nod to the crowd’s reaction, but stays sharp and is ready for action.]

NORA BAUER

Big test for both of these young prospects. 82% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that Robert Guilliman walks out of this one victorious.

PATRICK CARSON

They probably haven’t forgot how overpowered Lee looked against McLeod, another elite striker. Alright folks, we are all set for this fight to begin. The referee of the opening bout is Roy Rivers. He checks off with each fighter one last time and calls for the fight! This bout is underway!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighter begin to circle toward the center of the octagon. The Primarch suddenly rushes in and delivers a brilliant combination that forces Lee to try and defend better. Guilliman launches a hook to the body but Sang-Hyun Lee moves aside looking for a counter. Guilliman throws a body kick and lands clean to the ribs! Solid shot! Robert Guilliman follows up and tries a middle kick but Sang-Hyun Lee reads it well with a block and steps away.]

[A lightning fast low kick fires in from Guilliman, but Lee blocks it with his leg. Lee moves backwards and Guilliman is asking him if he came today for fighting or running. The Primarch fakes a move and launches a nice uppercut and it lands square on Lee's chin. Guilliman fakes again and launches another uppercut, but Lee blocks that. He made it look easy with that read.]

PATRICK CARSON

Guilliman shows no signs of slowing down. He's in great shape.

NORA BAUER

Lee looks like he’s worked on his striking defense since his last fight and has been able to recognize the strikes a lot quicker.

[Both fighters circle around for a bit, looking for some openings, then Guilliman shoots for a double leg takedown! Sang-Hyun Lee sprawls back and manages to stay on his feet. Guilliman throws a weak kick to quickly counter, but Lee is smart enough to block that one. Poorly executed technique. Sang-Hyun Lee looks to counter now! Lee rushes in and ties Guilliman up in a clinch.]

[Guilliman takes a break to breathe while holding Sang-Hyun Lee. Roy Rivers separates the fighters and tells them to continue fighting after stalling. Robert Guilliman closes the distance with his opponent wanting some action. A high kick from Robert Guilliman skims off Lee. Lightning fast low kick from Guilliman! Lee blocks that kick with his leg. The Primarch keeps the pressure with a good front kick! Lee stumbles backwards after that one!]

PATRICK CARSON

Lee ribs are getting hammered, and it looks bad! He looks hurt!

NORA BAUER

He stumbles backwards and now he's an easy target for Robert Guilliman!

[Guilliman goes for a low kick, then faster than a blinking eye, he follows up with a high kick! Lee hits the ground hard! That crushing blow from Robert Guilliman has left Lee unconscious! Roy Rivers rushes in to stop Guilliman as he calls off the fight!]

PATRICK CARSON

What a finish by Robert Guilliman! Sang-Hyun Lee never saw it coming and got his bell rung!

NORA BAUER

Impressive win for Robert Guilliman, who proves that once again, Lee’s struggles defending the standing strikes had him overwhelmed.

[The crowd is roaring with excitement as Guilliman celebrates his victory with his corner. Doctors tend to Lee for a moment before helping him back up to his feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Roy Rivers has called for a stop in this fight at 2 minutes 43 second of the very first round for your winner by knockout, “The Primarch” Robert Guilliman!

[The crowd cheers as Guilliman has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

PATRICK CARSON

As you mentioned, Nora, Sang-Hyun Lee struggles against another standing striker, leaving himself sitting at 0-2. Big debut win for Robert Guilliman, though, who looked nearly flawless tonight.

NORA BAUER

Lee needs to regroup during his next camp and really work on that aspect of his game. If he’s unable to take his opponents down to the ground, he’s a sitting duck on his feet. But to Robert Guilliman’s credit, he didn’t allow Lee to gain any ground, and kept the pressure on him throughout the round.

BF2_Wirman-vs-Maxine.png

NOTHING SUFFOCATES YOU MORE THAN

THE PASSING OF EVERYDAY HUMAN EVENTS

ISOLATION IS THE OXYGEN MASK YOU MAKE

YOUR CHILDREN BREATH INTO SURVIVE

[As "The Fight Song" by Marilyn Manson plays over the loudspeaker, Mad Maxine slowly creeps out to the main stage. She comes out wearing her black and gold walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. Maxine burrows her head down while slowly marching down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, she stomps up the steps and calmly takes her place in her corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

Coming out now is a newcomer to MMA and someone who had an early exit in the Cruiserweight Tournament in “Mad” Maxine.

NORA BAUER

She didn’t even get a chance to make an impression, as her opening round opponent Daniel Fisk laid her out with one punch in under a minute. Hopefully that loss didn’t affect her mentally as she prepared for this fight tonight.

CAN’T YOU SEE I’M EASILY BOTHERED BY PERSISTENCE

ONE STEP FROM LASHING OUT AT YOU

YOU WANT IN TO GET UNDER MY SKIN

AND CALL YOURSELF A FRIEND

I’VE GOT MORE FRIENDS LIKE YOU

WHAT DO I DO?

[“Respect” by Pantera shreds over the loudspeaker and “The Reaver” Jakko Wirman emerges to the stage wearing his blue and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Wirman has a focused stare in his eyes as he makes his way down the ramp. He makes it to cageside where he is inspected by the fight official to ensure he is fit to fight and legal for action. Once cleared, he climbs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

Coming to the cage now making his Union GP debut, Jakko Wirman is an intimidating man. He had to cut a lot of weight to make it to the 225 pound limit, but the guy looks like an animal.

NORA BAUER

He could easily compete in the Heavyweight Division, and I wouldn’t rule it out that he does compete in both at some point. He naturally walks around at about 240-245 and as you can see, the guy is built like a tank. I’m excited to see him in action tonight.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following bout is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Junior Heavyweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Wrestler with a record of 0-1. She stands 6’2” and weighing in at 225 pounds. From Wounded Knee, South Dakota, she is Maxine Maxine!

[Maxine steps out from her corner and raises both arms in the air as she bounces in place.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer disciplined in Sambo and Judo with a record of 0-0. He stands 6’4” and weighing in at 225 pounds. From Helsinki, Finland, fighting out of Shield and Glove Combat Sports, he is “The Reaver” Jakko Wirman!

[Wirman steps out from his corner and raises both arms in the air as the crowd cheers him on. He looks at the ground while he does his calming exercises. He looks calm but knows he has a tough fight coming up.]

NORA BAUER

Just a few moments away from two brutes ready to tear the place down! Both fighters look a bit uneasy, hopefully the nerves don’t get to them. For the first time ever, the fans that took our social media poll were completely divided, as it was a straight 50% vote for either fighter.

PATRICK CARSON

The referee of the bout is Jordan Ripley. He checks off with each fighter one last time and he calls for the fight! And here we go!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighters emerge from their corners. The two begin circling around for position, and  Jakko Wirman shoots in for a sweep single and catches Maxine's far ankle and trips her to the mat! Slick takedown by Wirman. Wirman is in closed guard and Maxine tries to roll on the ground! Nice reversal! She is now in full mount over Jakko Wirman!]

[Wirman tries to roll to his side and trap Maxine, and successfully moves to half guard. Wirman looks like he is taking this opportunity to rest. Wirman now puts Maxine in closed guard. Wirman tries to roll on the ground, nice reversal! He is now in full mount over Maxine!]

PATRICK CARSON

I have to admit, I did not expect to see a technical battle on the ground with these two, but it just shows how versatile these two competitors are.

NORA BAUER

In today’s day and age, to be one of the elite MMA fighters in the world, you have to be a well-rounded competitor and not be so one dimensional.

[Maxine tries to move on the ground and escape from the full mount, but Wirman doesn't want to lose his position and struggles to maintain the full mount. Maxine gets sloppy and Jakko tries to take advantage and goes for an armbar! That Armbar from Wirman looks tight, but Maxine uses her brute strength and breaks the lock, then pushes away Jakko Wirman, who rolls over his back and gets to standing position.]

[Jordan Ripley halts the fight to stand up Maxine. The fight resumes with both fighters standing. You can hear how the people agree with that decision as they cheer on the fighters. Maxine and Wirman circle around the center of the cage. Wirman looks for angles as he throws a few jabs that are countered by Maxine's punches. Both fighters are wildly hitting the air!]

[Maxine moves backwards and Wirman is asking her if she came today for fighting or running. Maxine grabs her opponent by the waist and tries to take the fight to the ground with a bear hug takedown. Great takedown by Maxine! Maxine now is in closed guard over Wirman, and The Reaver is taking this opportunity to rest. Wirman tries to roll on the ground! Nice reversal! He is now in full mount over Maxine!]

[Wirman catches Maxine's left arm and tries a kimura! Maxine struggles to free herself, but you can see the pain reflected in her eyes. Maxine holds her own arm and struggles until she gets free.]

PATRICK CARSON

Close call there! Jakko Wirman looked to have had that kimura locker in tight, but Maxine was able to break free from it.

NORA BAUER

Maxine’s strength is comparable to the Heavyweights in Union Grand Prix. Her arms are like literal tree trunks!

[Jakko Wirman continues in full mount over Maxine. He looks to finish the fight with an armbar from the top! Wirman is locking it in! That armbar looks tight! Maxine tries to break free, but the pain forces her to tap!]

PATRICK CARSON

And this one’s over! Jakko Wirman locks in a textbook armbar and puts this one away early!

NORA BAUER

It looked like Maxine was fighting her way off from the ground after freeing herself from that kimura. But Wirman stays persistent and catches her in that armbar, locks it in deep, and there was nothing she could do at that point. Big debut win for The Reaver!

[The crowd is roaring with excitement as Wirman celebrates his victory with his corner. Doctors tend to Maxine for a moment before helping her back up to her feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Jordan Ripley has called for a stop in this fight at 3 minutes 17 second of the very first round for your winner by submission, “The Reaver” Jakko Wirman!

[The crowd cheers as Witman has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

PATRICK CARSON

I think the consensus was that we’d see these two stand up and trade blows, but Wirman was able to see a crack in Maxine’s defense and capitalized on it and rode it to a victory.

NORA BAUER

I’m sure Maxine is disappointed in tonight’s result. After getting caught by Daniel Fisk in the Cruiserweight Tournament, she wanted to rebound tonight and show what she’s made of, but it’s back to the drawing board once again for her.

BF2_Volkov-vs-KVD.png

LOOK, PEOPLE ASK ME WHAT THE FUTURE IS

ALL I KNOW IS I’LL BE DOIN’ THIS

ALL I KNOW IS THINGS ARE MOVING QUICK

THAT’S CONVENIENT FOR ME ‘CAUSE THAT’S HOW I LIVE

[“No Name” by NF blares over the loudspeaker and Kevin Van Damne emerges to the stage wearing his black and yellow walkout fight kit with his crew following behind. KVD has a blank, stone cold expression as he appears to be laser focused.]

PATRICK CARSON

KVD showed some good technique and strategy in his debut fight against Roscoe Robinson. It went deep into the third round, but KVD got caught with a high kick and ended his chances in advancing in the Cruiserweight Tournament. I’m curious how he holds up here tonight.

NORA BAUER

Van Damne definitely showed some great things in his debut, and I honestly thought that was the fight of the night. But he’s got another big challenge ahead of him against an Olympic level opponent!

SGORI BY STVORE BEGINS TO PLAY

[The heavy opening riff of STVORE’s Sgori (Burn) starts up on the sound system and Viktor Volkov steps out from behind the curtain. His eyes fixated on the cage, Volkov slowly begins to roll his shoulders whilst he walks. With his usual stoic expression etched upon his face, Viktor continues walking, completely unphased by the occasion, cracking his knuckles through his gloves and swinging his arms a couple of times before reaching cageside.]

[He calmly removes his Reebok branded tee, handing it off to a team member before bumping the fist of several other team members around him. Eventually his head trainer stops up in front of him, squirting some water in Volkov's mouth before handing him his black mouth guard, adorned with the image of the grim reaper. The big Russian pops it into his mouth before the cutman goes to work, carefully placing vaseline across each brow, then rubbing it into his cheeks, nose and forehead area. The cutman then nods to Volkov, who turns, brushing by him as he makes his way up the steps and into the cage.]

[Viktor takes a quick lap around the cage, breaking into a light jog before he settles back into his corner, intimidatingly beginning to pace back and forth as his music slowly dies down.]

PATRICK CARSON

And now coming to the octagon, Viktor Volkov is also coming off of a shocking debut defeat in the UGP #2 Main Event against Nathan Lucas.

NORA BAUER

It’s one of those things that happens in this sport. All it takes is one clean shot in the right spot and it’s nighty night. I think Volkov has learnt from that and will protect himself better.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following bout is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Cruiserweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer with a record of 0-1. He stands 6’2” and weighing in at 215 pounds. From Seattle, Washington, he is Kevin Van Damne!

[Kevin Van Damne looks like he's feeling the pressure. He raises a hand in the air to acknowledge the crowd.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Boxer with a record of 0-1. He stands 6’5” and weighing in at 225 pounds. From Saint Petersburg, Russia, fighting out of Volkov Fighting Institute, he is “The Last Tsar” Viktor Volkov!

[Volkov steps out from his corner and raises both arms in the air with an emotionless straight face. He then looks at the ground while he does his breathing exercises. He knows he can not fail this night.]

NORA BAUER

This is as unbelievable as it is hilarious! 100% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that Viktor Volkov walks out of here with the win tonight.

PATRICK CARSON

Damn, not even Kevin’s momma voted for him! That’s cold blooded! Alright folks, the referee for this contest is Roy Rivers. He checks off with each fighter, and calls for the bell. This fight is underway!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and the fighters close the distance. Kevin Van Damne jumps in the air and tries a flying knee! Crushing shot! Volkov's mouthpiece flies out of his mouth! Volkov stumbles on the backs of his heels as he stumbles to stay on his feet!]

PATRICK CARSON

Woah! KVD swings for the fences right out of the gate and caught Volkov with a brutal flying knee and just about ended it right there!

[The fighters size each other up back in the center of the cage. The crowd is still in an uproar from that flying knee as both fighters circle around. Viktor Volkov finally closes the distance with his opponent wanting some action. Volkov showing excellent timing, blasts Kevin Van Damne with a right hand. Great hook by Viktor Volkov! Kevin Van Damne is caught off balance and slips to the ground, but quickly springs back up to his feet.]

[Viktor Volkov shoots in and takes KVD down with a blasting double leg. KVD tries to move on the ground and shows Viktor Volkov a crack in his guard which he uses for a big elbow! Bang! KVD's forehead receives a strong elbow that rocks his head against the mat! Roy Rivers senses he may be calling off the fight soon! KVD tries to close his guard around Volkov and eventually succeeds. KVD tries to move on the ground and Volkov sees another opening for another big elbow, but KVD uses his forearms to block the impact.]

[Volkov tries to escape from the closed guard and succeeds to open guard and takes a second to catch his breath. Volkov tries to  open KVD's guard and then starts dropping heavy bombs from the top! KVD is unable to cover himself now! KVD panics and in a move of desperation, flies up to his feet! The referee halts the fight momentarily to stand up Volkov. The fight resumes with both fighters standing.]

PATRICK CARSON

KVD was getting rocked on the ground there, I thought he was finished! But somehow he manages to escape from the bottom and take this fight up to the neutral stance.

[The crowd cheers on as both fighters circle around and look for angles. Volkov comes crashing in with a brutal combination! KVD is in a bad way, his legs look wobbly! Volkov dodges a strike and counters with a crushing hook that almost lifts KVD off from the ground! KVD is looking desperate and the two exchange wildly, both landing but without much steam behind the shots.]

[The fighters step back for a breather, then a brutal combination from Viktor Volkov catches KVD off guard! KVD looks hurt, his legs are shaky, and down KVD goes! He's out cold! That phenomenal combo knockout has the crowd on their feet!]

PATRICK CARSON

That’s it! It’s over! Viktor Volkov starches KVD with a flurry of punches!

NORA BAUER

He saw the opening and he went for it head on! Big win for Volkov who puts him in the right direction.

[The crowd is roaring with excitement as Volkov celebrates his victory with his corner. Doctors tend to KVD for a moment before helping him back up to his feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Roy Rivers has called for a stop in this fight at 2 minutes 47 second of the very first round for your winner by knockout, “The Last Tsar” Viktor Volkov!

[The crowd cheers as Volkov has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

PATRICK CARSON

Big first win for the Russian Boxer. A highlight reel performance by Volkov from beginning to end!

NORA BAUER

People speculated whether that early KO loss in his debut would mess with his psyche. Tonight he erased those doubts and begins that journey back to title contention.

BF2_Ford-vs-Izumi.png

DIE MEETS HARD BY LING TOSITE SIGURE

BEGINS TO PLAY

[As Die Meets Hard By Ling Tosite Sigure plays over the loudspeaker, Kira Izumi slowly creeps out to the main stage. He comes out wearing his blue and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Izumi burrows his head down while slowly creeping down the aisle. He makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he climbs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

At this point, it’s all a formality for Kira Izumi. Going 0 for 3 so far in this Middleweight Round Robin, he’s effectively been eliminated from title contention.

NORA BAUER

But he can play spoiler to Jeremiah Ford, which I think would be a nice consolation for The Prince of Darkness.

THIS IS THE YEAR WHERE HOPE FAILS YOU

THE TEST SUBJECTS RUN THE EXPERIMENTS

AND THE BASTARDS YOU KNOW, IS THE HERO YOU HATE

BUT COHESING IS POSSIBLE IF WE STRIVE

[“Pulse of the Maggots” by Slipknot blasts over the loudspeaker and Jeremiah Ford emerges to the stage wearing his black and yellow walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. Hailey has a scowling fierce look on her face as she slowly prowls down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up by the fight official. Once she’s cleared, she races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying out in her corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

There’s a saying, “win and you’re in”, you would think this applies to Ford, but I’m not 100% convinced that’s the case.

NORA BAUER

I agree with you Patrick. If he wins tonight he goes 3-1, but of Bishop wins in the main event tonight, that’ll put Ford, Bishop, and Bonanno at 3-1 which losses mixed all around. That type of scenario would be a matchmaking nightmare, but all Jeremiah can focus on right now is his opponent in front of him tonight.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following bout is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Middleweight Division. PATRICK CARSON

Jeremiah Ford started off slow in this fight but finishes strong. Superb display of technique and MMA knowledge by Ford, but you have to wonder where does Kira Izumi goes from here?

NORA BAUER

Kira is in a rough spot, now sitting at 0-4. Only way to go is up from here, but he’s definitely going to have to take a long hard look at this round robin series and decide whether MMA is still in his future. He has shown some promise in his fights, but it’s a long road to redemption now.

Simon Bishop, a product of Real Killas MMA, shows a lot of poise when he’s out in the octagon. He had one slip up against Jeremiah Ford, and that could prove to be costly in terms of getting that first title fight.

NORA BAUER

He can’t worry about those details right now, all he should be focused on is the man who has dominated this round robin. Let his work speak for itself and let the bigwigs work out the details.
