[After the opening intro video finishes up, we fade into the Jose Correa Arena which is packed with 5,250 fans in attendance. The crowd is on their feet cheering in anticipation for the night’s bouts. Camera angles pan around from one point to another, catching fans, athletes, and celebrities in attendance. We then transition to meet the voices of the octagon, Patrick Carson and Nora Bauer standing cageside.]

PATRICK CARSON

Welcome ladies and gentlemen, we are live on the Battleground Network in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Jose Correa Arena and this is Boss Fight VII! I am Patrick Carson and alongside me is the beautiful Nora Bauer, and tonight we have another night filled with young up and comers ready to make a name for themselves!

NORA BAUER

Six of our eight scheduled fights tonight all have a fighter making their Union Grand Prix debut. You only get one shot at a first impression, so this is a big night for them all. But the biggest topic of the night has been the main event bout between two Heavyweight competitors who are looking to separate themselves from the cluster and push forward for a title fight opportunity.

PATRICK CARSON

We've got Bobbi London taking on Brock Quarry, two fighters who have shown each other a ton of respect leading up to this fight, which is something we don't see all too often in this day and age of combat sports.

NORA BAUER

No and to be honest it was a nice breath of fresh air to see two hungry warriors show that mutual gratitude, especially when they are just moments away from trying to tear each other apart! I'm excited for the what's in store tonight, so how about we stop wasting anymore time and get to our first fight of the evening?

CAGESIDE

WITH DYLAN CARTER

[The cameras cut to cageside, panning the Brazilian crowd as they pump their fists and scream chaotically in the aftermath of our first fight. Soon the camera swings away from the fans, revealing Union Grand Prix's intrepid cageside reporter Dylan Carter alongside the owner and founder of HILITE Fighting Club, James Raven. The duo smile into the camera as Dylan begins to speak.]

DYLAN CARTER

Hey there fans, I’m cageside with pro wrestling Hall of Famer and HILITE FC owner James Raven. James, how are things going for you and your team up there in Toronto?

JAMES RAVEN

We can’t complain, Dylan. We’re very happy these days. Everyone is motivated and working hard, we’re growing our membership consistently, and most importantly when our people get into a Union GP cage we do pretty well for ourselves. We’ve won 6 or 7 fights in a row, and we really feel like we shifted into a new gear when Misty DeMeans joined the team.

[Dylan nods her head slowly, listening over the roar of the fans in the background.]

DYLAN CARTER

Right, she certainly made an impact on the company, tell us what she means to your crew.

JAMES RAVEN

She was a game changer for us. I honestly believe she’s the best striker in Union right now, and maybe in all of MMA. Call me crazy, but I’ve been around a long time and seen her do things in our gym that nobody else I’ve met could do. She’s taken a special interest to train the younger group, and she’s sharpening skills for people like Nathan Lucas and Takeshi Kato who have traditionally been grapplers.

DYLAN CARTER

Kato and Lucas, can you give me an update on them?

[James nods enthusiastically.]

JAMES RAVEN

Sure, they’re both in the gym every day and working hard. Takeshi took a little time to enjoy his title win, but he’s been leading jiu jitsu classes and he wants to defend his belt as soon as possible. Nathan, I think there’s a deal done, he should be fighting soon. We’re just waiting on the announcement.

[Dylan smiles.]

DYLAN CARTER

That’s great to hear. Now, you’ve got three Heavyweights in action here tonight including Brock Quarry in the main event. Tell us how you’re feeling and what you’re expecting.

JAMES RAVEN

Well, like the rest of our team, I’m excited. Three wins could be huge for us, but three losses could be devastating. I’m on the edge of my seat like everyone else in the building. HILITE FC is mostly known for Misty and Kato at 155, and Nathan being a perennial contender at 225. After tonight we could really be put on the map in the Heavyweight landscape, though. These three guys work hard as shit, and do everything they can to help each other get better. There’s no egos in that room. We obviously take all of our opponents seriously, and respect them, but we believe the hardest fight any of our guys had in the past month were on our practice mats with each other. Brock plans on staking his claim to the title. JB and Rivera plan to turn some heads in their debuts. I just can’t wait to watch the show.

DYLAN CARTER

Neither can we, James. Thanks so much for your time, and best of luck to your guys.

JAMES RAVEN

My pleasure, Dylan. Thank you.

[Dylan turns fully to the camera and smiles wide as James’ eyes drift back to the cage for the beginning of the next fight. The camera slowly fades out.]

FIRST THINGS FIRST
I’MA SAY ALL THE WORDS INSIDE MY HEAD
I’M FIRED UP AND TIRED OF THE WAY THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN, OH OOH
THE WAY THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN, OH OOH

[“Believer” by Imagine Dragons blasts over the loudspeaker and Gina VanZant emerges to the stage wearing her pink and white walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. She has a focused look on her face as she slowly walks down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up by the fight official. Once she’s cleared, she races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying put in her corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

Gina VanZant may get some flak from some fans because she looks more like a Victoria's Secret model than a cage fighter, but anyone who follows this company knows that she is here to fight! She got her debut fight on just ten days notice, going up against the renowned Kaelan Laughlin. She lost by submission, but it didn’t dull her fire to breakthrough into the sport. She rebounded with a big win over Julie Tran and now she is focused on building a win streak tonight.

NORA BAUER

She definitely has that warrior mentality and trains extremely hard for her fights. Her biggest priorities tonight is to capitalize on her all-round striking abilities. She can use her hands just as well as her legs, and will need to keep her opponent off guard with that. If she can stay aggressive and suffocate her opponent, she’s got a good chance of walking out victorious.

MAN ON A MISSION, I’MMA TELL YOU MY POSITION
TREAT MY CONDITION WITH A FULL HEAD ON COLLISION
IT ONLY TAKE YOU ONE MINUTE
TO DROP YOURSELF IN IT

[“Greatness” by Don Broco plays throughout the arena and Kelsi Morrow emerges to the stage wearing her gold and Alice blue walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. She has a cheerful grin on her face as she slowly walks down the aisle and takes in the atmosphere. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up by the fight official. Once she’s cleared, she races up the steps and jogs to her corner while shadow boxing along the way.]

PATRICK CARSON

And now here comes Kelsi Morrow. This young prospect has made waves since debuting at Boss Fight 5, where she defeated Saffron Harris is a stunning upset by an armbar submission in the third round. She then parlayed that momentum in her second fight, defeating Hailey McIntyre via TKO with a monster head kick in the third round. If she can pull off another win tonight, it’ll be hard to argue that she doesn’t belong in the title contention discussions.

NORA BAUER

Not only is she 2-0 right now, but it’s the opponents in which she earned those victories against. Morrow has shown to be a very dynamic kickboxer, with amazing speed and agility to also evade a lot of attacks. She’ll need to continue that strategy here tonight as she goes up against another kickboxer.

MIKE DEMPSEY

MIKE DEMPSEY
And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer with a Union GP record of2-0. She stands at 5’7” and weighing in at 125 pounds. She is from Sacramento, California, she is “Goldstar” Kelsi Morrow!

[Ferocious staredown by Morrow while Jordan Ripley begins to recite the rules.]

NORA BAUER

This is the first time these two meet inside the cage, and it’s a big opportunity in their young careers. With the depth of the Lightweight Division, every fight and every moment holds so much weight. 61% of the fans that took our social media poll believes that Gina VanZant comes out of this one victorious.

PATRICK CARSON

Even though she’s a young rookie in this sport, she has a great following anywhere she goes and a great support system whoever she faces. And now the wait is almost over as we are just moments away. The referee of the bout is Jordan Ripley, he checks off with each fighter one last time and calls for the bell! This fight is underway!

PATRICK CARSON

Kelsi Morrow is keeping Gina VanZant guessing with every attack in this opening round! Dodging every attack and countering at every turn.

Great strategy and execution so far. Not only does it wear your opponent down, but it gets them off them frustrated and off their game by continually hitting nothing but air.

PATRICK CARSON

Kelsi Morrow continues to execute a very effective counter game with VanZant, and The California Doll could be in some trouble.

NORA BAUER

She needs to rethink her game plan because right now, Kelsi is in total command.

[VanZant moves aside and launches a furious low kick! That hard blow lands on Morrow's thigh! Morrow now seems hesitant as if she would give the initiative to her opponent. PATRICK CARSON

A lot of action here in the first round, but it all came from Kelsi Morrow, who looked to be in total control throughout the round.

NORA BAUER

VanZant tried to stand her ground, but she couldn’t get anything going. Morrow was developing a solid counter game and kept Gina at a loss. Let’s see if she and her corner can rework a different plan of attack here in the second round.

PATRICK CARSON

Big win here tonight for Kelsi Morrow, and now it’ll be interesting to see how the rankings unfold after tonight.

NORA BAUER

As we mentioned earlier, it’s gonna be hard to not put Morrow’s name in that class of fighters deserving a title shot. However, with the Lightweight Division being as deep as it is, I would imagine she will need at least another big win before she can undoubtedly call for it. However, she put Gina VanZant through the gauntlet tonight, and comes out 3-0!

BF7_ITC_Robert-Guilliman.png
BF7_London-vs-Quarry.png

THIS IS HOW I SHOW MY LOVE

I MADE IT IN MY MIND BECAUSE

I BLAME IT ON MY ADD BABY

[As "Sail" by Awolnation plays over the loudspeaker, the towering Brock Quarry slowly steps out to the main stage. He comes out wearing his green and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Quarry has a stern and focused look on his face while slowly marching down the aisle. He makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he stomps up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

PATRICK CARSON

And now as we prepare for our main event bout, our first Heavyweight competitor Brock Quarry is coming in tonight on  a two fight win streak after falling short in his debut fight. He scored his first victory over Fabio Pacitti in a split decision, which is something we have yet to see in the Heavyweight Division. Then he follows that up with  a first round knockout over Shotgun Koa, and quite possibly put him in the retirement home.

NORA BAUER

Quarry obviously has a lot of power. He’s a genetic freak at 6’4” and pushing the 265 pound limit. However, he also poses a threat with his wrestling. He’s got a solid ground game which is something we don’t see often in the division of the giants. Perhaps that could be the difference maker in this fight.

SO YOU’RE JUST SOME CUNT

A FUCKING DUMB CUNT

YOU FUCK WITH ME AND I’LL LEAVE YOU ON THE RUN CUNT

[Bobbi London makes her way through the entrance with the Australian flag draped over her. The heavyset fighter bounces around on her feet nimbly, despite her size as she plays to the camera. She gets inside the cage and waves the flag around as she leads a loud chant for the fans;]

“AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE, Oi Oi Oi!”

[She takes one last lap around the cage then settles into her corner, posting her flag there as she prepares to fight.]

PATRICK CARSON

And now making the final walkout of the night, Bobbi London brings the thunder from down under! Bobbi has weathered the storm in her early MMA career, winning her debut fight, then losing to Donnie Calabrese, and then winning against Amani Crawford. All of those were first round knockout finishes, so you know what to expect from London.

NORA BAUER

The Australian fighter has been quite impressive with her crazy knockout power, but that’s her forte. She’s pretty one dimensional, not a lot of technical aspects to her game, but it’s worked more times than not and we’re about to see if it’ll work for her again.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the main event of the evening! The following bout is scheduled for five rounds in the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Wrestler with a Union GP record of 2-1. He stands 6’4” and weighing in at 256 pounds. From San Diego, California, fighting out of HILITE FC, he is the number two ranked Heavyweight in the world, Brock “The Rock” Quarry!

[Brock Quarry glares at his opponent from the opposite corner. His focus never leaves his opposition as he bounces in place to stay warm and loose.]

NORA BAUER

London is known for her stand up and bang it out style, but she was holding her own on the ground. Both of these fighters showed some great prowess in areas that they aren’t typically known for. Let’s how they respond now in the second round.

PATRICK CARSON

A fantastic fight for both of these giants, but tonight it was Brock Quarry’s night! Quarry had some great moments in this fight and he contributed it to the hard work that his ever-growing camp continuously puts in. With Quarry now the undoubted number one contender, can he bring home a second championship to HILITE FC?

NORA BAUER

He showcased a very well-rounded attack in all phases of the game, which is exactly what it will take to take on the Heavyweight Champion, Derrick La’Bell. It’s got to be a tough night for London who dished out one hell of an effort, but it’s back to the drawing board for her. The fans here in Sao Paulo, Brazil definitely got their money’s worth tonight!

PATRICK CARSON

No doubts about that! A lot of great young competitors got their names out there tonight and delivered a great card from top to bottom! That’s all the time we have here tonight.
