Welcome to the UGP # 11 Prelim YouTube special live from the Wells Fargo Center! Let me just start by saying, thank you! Thank you for all the great Union GP fans for their continued support as the sport of MMA continues to grow! It is because of your support that these prelims will continue to remain apart of our broadcasts!
[Vannah signals a hand crafted <3 before she continues.]
VANNAH WHITE
In our opening fight Damiko Conrad (1-3) will face off against newcomer Kennard Rozier (0-0) in the Heavyweight Division! Damiko Conrad is hoping to bounce back after a two fight losing streak. A win here for Conrad is vital as the Heavyweight Division has seen an insurgence of new faces making their way into the fold. This includes Rozier, who is looking to make a name for himself in the division here tonight.
Our second match up will feature our Cruiserweight Division as Cal McCulskey (0-2) goes head to head with debuting Lake Reese (0-0). After a rough start, McCulskey is looking to get in the win column at the expense of Reese! Despite it being his debut here tonight, he’s the favorite coming into this match-up and is highly regarded among the hardcore MMA community, we’ll see how it all translates into the cage tonight!
Our last match-up of the night see’s two lightweights as Saffron Harris (2-2) will link up with (0-0) Tilly-Jean Wade! Saffron Harris comes off of a loss against Zari Aliyah in a high profile Boss Fights 7 main event fight which is sure to do us wonders for our stream tonight. Tilly-Jean Wade is making her debut here tonight and has been thrown into the fire as shown by the polls as she walks in as a 2/7 underdog here tonight! Saffron looks to add a win back on the right side of the column but Tilly all but has guaranteed an upset here tonight.

The bell announces the first round! Pulverizing punch to Conrad's head! Ouch, that had to hurt! Rozier goes for a low kick and Conrad avoids the vicious blow. Rozier misses a step and Damiko Conrad sees an opportunity to counter him! Damiko Conrad attempts a sweep single, Kennard Rozier was ready and easily shrugs off the takedown attempt. Rozier launches a stiff jab! That barely hits Conrad's face but it seems like one finger has poked his eye! Does the referee see that? Herschel Warden saw it! Warden checks on Conrad before admonishing Kennard Rozier and taking a point away from him for the foull! Hershel Warden allows Conrad time to recover and the fight resumes with both fighters standing.
Rozier begins to launch a barrage of punches over Conrad and this is quickly getting worse and worse for Conrad. Conrad tries to respond with some counter punches that almost hit Kennard Rozier who just manages to get away! Damiko Conrad gets sloppy and Kennard Rozier capitalizes with a vicious punch that rocks Conrad! Kennard Rozier tries a nice one-two combination that gets blocked. Kennard Rozier throws a looping right hand that lands Hard on Conrad's chin! That shot has Conrad frozen on the feet and his left eye is beginning to swell now!
Rozier launches a stiff jab! That barely hits Conrad's face but it seems like one finger has poked his eye! Hershel Warden calls for a time out as Kennard Rozier holds up his hands insisting it was an accident; the crowd boos as Conrad stumbles to his corner wincing in pain as the doctors step into assess the situations. Hershel Warden is furious and walks Rozier to the center of the cage and docs another point from him! How will this effect the judges scorecards?
The referees declare that Conrad is fit to continue and after take a few minutes to recover, the fight resumes with both fighters standing. Kennard Rozier darts in and throws an uppercut that lands solidly. Kennard Rozier has found an opening in the defense of Conrad and launches a second a big uppercut BANG! Conrad is wobbling! Conrad desperately ducks down to shoot but Kennard Rozier delivers a knee that wrecks him! Conrad hits the ground hard! That crushing blow from Kennard Rozier has left Conrad unconscious face first on the canvas! What a finish by Kennard Rozier!

ROUND ONE

McCluskey and Reese move forward as the bell signals the beginning of the fight! Cal McCluskey tries to take the action to his favourite field as he tries to grapple! Great move by Cal who pushes his opponent forward with a double underhooks and ties him up in the clinch. Reese tries to take Cal McCluskey down and he stumbles backwards and Reese uses the opportunity to launch a few punches. Ouch! One swing hits hard McCluskey's jaw! McCluskey's chin is bruised and cut after the punishment he's received! Inside the clinch Reese fights for positioning and launches a few punches to McCluskey's head. Those punches are hitting and McCluskey covers up his head!
Inside the clinch, Reese hits brutal knees to McCluskey's face, followed by knees to the body from Lake Reese! Bang! McCluskey can take many more shots like that! McCluskey's Right cheek is bruised and battered! McCluskey and Lake Reese are cliched up against the cage. McCluskey hammers Reese face and hooks Reese leg and puts him on his back after a slick trip! Cal McCluskey is in closed guard over Reese. Good looking punches from Cal McCluskey on the ground that can take its toll on Reese. From Cal’s guard, Reese tries to roll on the ground! Nice reversal! He is now in full mount over Cal McCluskey!
Reese suddenly grabs hold of Cal McCluskey's arm and tries an armbar! McCluskey quickly breaks the lock and now he is in a closed guard over Lake Reese! Reese measures the resilience of McCluskey's ribs with a couple of big punches from guard. Those hits are leaving hitches in McCluskey's side. Cal remains in closed guard before Reese tries to roll on the ground and hits a sweep! He is now in full mount over Cal McCluskey!McCluskey tries to escape from the full mount and Lake Reese is on guard and moves to side mount to keep his superior position. Lake Reese isolates Cal McCluskey's left arm looking for an armbar but McCluskey quickly manages to sit up and pull his arm out of danger and now Reese lost his dominant position.
Cal McCluskey is in open guard over Reese who closes his guard around McCluskey. Cal launches a few punches to Reese who covers himself well and then rolls on the ground and sweeps him again! McCluskey is looking clumsy off his back and Lake Reese launches a few punches to McCluskey's cheek from the guard! The punches seem to bother Cal who tries to cover his face, Cal McCluskey tries to better his position on the ground but Reese holds Cal McCluskey's head against his chin in the closed guard. Lake Reese gets an arm and tries to apply an armbar. McCluskey spins out, but Lake Reese was ready for that and quickly switches to a triangle choke! McCluskey sub defense is good and manages to back out of danger. Cal looks to counter and opts to go after his opponent by jumping inside Reese's guard.
Reese fights back with his feet and closes his guard.
Lake Reese launches a few punches to McCluskey's cheek from bottom guard. A few good shots land as Cal tries to protect his face. From guard, Reese hits another slick transition and hits a sweep to full mount on McCulskey! Lake Reese sits high on Cal McCluskey's chest and pulls his leg underneath McCluskey's head. There's the triangle attempt! McCluskey struggles to free himself from the crippling lock! The triangle from Mount from Lake Reese appears to be unbreakable as McCluskey tries to roll out. He's too quick for Lake Reese and manages to slip out! That was a risky move by Reese and it cost him top position!
Cal McCluskey is in closed guard over Reese. Reese measures the resilience of McCluskey's ribs with a couple of big punches from guard that leaves hitches in McCluskey's side. Reese is measuring the resilience of McCluskey's ribs with a couple more big punches from guard. Red hitches mark Cal’s ribs at this point. The hard shots from bottom allows Reese enough space to go for a sweep and he is now in full mount over Cal McCluskey! Cal McCluskey doesn't want to continue the fight in this position and desperately tries to get back on his feet but can’t because of Reese’s superior top control.
Cal McCluskey with all his might tries to roll to his side and get to half guard but Lake Reese rolls Cal McCluskey to his stomach instead and takes his back! Reese is in rear mount over McCluskey! Reese looks to get one hook in and he does it it! With one hook in, Reese has already isolated an arm looking for a slick ambar from the back… he’s got it! McCluskey's arm is getting wrenched, it appears to be injured! Reese throws his leg over and Cal McCluskey is in serious trouble! Lake Reese extends his hips and completely hyperextends the arm and Cal McCluskey is forced to tapout to the crafty armbar!

Aww, I absolutely love it! Did you show teacher Kelsi?
The little girl nods her head in confirmation, as Vannah White pulls herself up of her knees and turns around with Kelsi Morrow right behind her shoulders.

I really thank you for inviting me to your classroom! These kids have been wonderful and I’ve had soooooooooo much fun here!

Oh! Well, really I’m excited to have my first interview! I definitely have to keep to a super strict schedule usually but I’m always happy to make time for something like this!
As if on cue, the school bell rings. It’s time for recess.
The Vlog makes a jump cut back into the same class room. This time, the room is empty. The class is clean, well organized and each table has a chair folded on-top. For many, it signals the end of the day but for a girl like Kelsi Morrow one could argue that her day is just getting started.
VANNAH WHITE
Soooo for those who may not know, you're not just a beautiful butt kicker and amazing athlete but your a kindergarten teacher as well! I was wondering what if any parallels exist between your two careers and if so how do you believe it's translated into the cage?
Kelsi Morrow sits at her desk, taking the time to analyze the question while Vannah patiently awaits an answer.
KELSI MORROW
I teach Pre-K and I also teach yoga and mindfulness classes to my students after school. The biggest parallel I think you could find between my day and night lives as I like to call them? Is control and understanding of self. A classroom with so many kids can get overwhelming so, so quickly and that’s true in the cage too. So knowing how to center and calm myself is definitely something I Feel translates well.
Another parallel would be pushing beyond your limitations. Nobody really believed I could become a teacher. I wasn’t the smartest kid growing up and I had to work really, REALLY hard to get the grades others got easily… but I worked my butt off to achieve my goal, just like I work my butt off to achieve my goals inside the cage as well.
I always teach my kids, that the only person who can decide what your limitations are is you. Everyone in the world might tell you no. But all you need to do is believe in yourself and if you work hard enough and push hard enough, you’ll get there. I’ve been training in martial arts since I was six; but I’d bet my last dollar nobody who knew me then could picture me sitting here now. It’s all about perspective and how to not let other people’s opinions muddy your own.
VANNAH WHITE
Kelsi, despite an impressive 3-0 start in Union you've been seen as an underdog virtually every time out! I personally LOVE an underdog story but do you embrace the role of the underdog or do you resent it and feel that maybe it's unjustified?
KELSI MORROW
Honestly? I feel a lot of it comes from the fact that I’m never going to be the loudest person in the room. Smack talk and being cruel just aren’t things I have any interest in doing, there are enough people out there who want to tear you down… I don’t want to just be another hungry dog in the pack.
I work hard, I put my head down and I focus on my end game. Aggression is great inside the cage, but for me personally, I’d rather be kind and set a good example for my kids, outside of it. And if that makes me the underdog then I wear the mantle with pride.
VANNAH WHITE
At Boss Fights 8 Dante Reed revealed a new design to the championship titles and there had been rumors leading up to that point that a Bantamweight Division was going to be added along with the new belts. However, it seems that an added bantamweight division has been placed on hold. Why do you think this is and what are the odds that you eventually make the move down to 135?
KELSI MORROW
I really couldn’t speculate on why, but if the division were to come to fruition it's highly likely I’d make that move down. My natural weight is already on the low end right now… it’d only make sense for me to make that move and continue to train and condition my body in a healthy way.
VANNAH WHITE
Now Kelsi, we spoke about it a little bit off camera but it seems that after a quick start in Union GP, you have been waiting on the sidelines for quite sometime waiting on your next fight! Do you feel you are being overlooked by management or can we expect to see you in the cage sometime soon?
KELSI MORROW
I don’t like to speculate or, make waves but… obviously I am being overlooked. There’s no possible way you can see this as anything else. I came out and I put my heart into my fights and then… crickets. It’s a little hurtful that I’m being discounted in the way that I am and I’m confused as to why I’m not getting booked - but my frustrations in waiting are beginning to mount, I sincerely hope that’s something that we see rectified soon.
VANNAH WHITE
Final question Kelsi, is there anyone who you would like to fight next?
KELSI MORROW
Anyone. I just want a challenge, I want every single time I step into that cage to be a challenge and to push me. Not just another match and then two months on the sidelines while louder, less talented people continue to get opportunities.
VANNAH WHITE

The two stand up and head towards the door. Kelsi leads the way and props open the door but before the two exit, Vannah stops and takes one last look around.

Hey girl, what are you thinking?
VANNAH WHITE
Me? Oh, nothing. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, is all. You know, wondering how different my life could’ve been if I… oh, nevermind me.
KELSI MORROW
You want to talk about it more sometime?

Sure. That’d be nice.
Kelsi smiles as she heads out the door, Vannah does too as she turns off the lights in the classroom.

The bell announces the first round! Tilly-Jean Wade fakes a punch and launches herself into Harris! Nice move by Wade who clinches and pushes Harris against the cage. Wade pushes Saffron Harris against the fence and begins a relentless combination of punches. The crowd is on it's feet! Harris cannot escape Tilly-Jean Wade's clinch! Tilly-Jean Wade is just brutalizing Harris with punches time and time again! Harris bites down on her mouthpiece and pushes off of Tilly-Jean Wade and starts launching a flurry of hooks and body shots of her own! Wade holds her opponent tight to her body as she tries to cool down the action.
Inside the clinch, Wade struggles and launches a few punches to Harris's head! A few of those punches land and Harris tries to cover her head! Harris doesn't want to clinch anymore as she ducks under Tilly-Jean Wade embrace and moves away! Nice move by Harris who put distance between them. A punch from Saffron Harris gets blocked by Wade. Harris throws a lazy kick that Tilly easily dodges and fires an uppercut that almost puts Harris into orbit! Wade uses the opportunity to grapple and pushes Harris up against the fence in a muay thai plum position! Wade gets herself into good position and looks to change levels for the takedown, she gets a hold of a leg and trips Harris to the mat!
Tilly-Jean Wade is in closed guard over Harris. Wade tries to escape from closed guard and manages to liberate her leg and jumps to half guard! Saffron Harris quickly tries to close the guard and is successful. Harris proceeds to moves to high guard and tries to lock in an armbar! Tilly-Jean Wade breaks the lock, rolls on the ground and stands up to her feet quickly. Wade surprises Saffron Harris by passing her guard and advancing to half guard over her. The fans give both fighters a round of applause! Tilly-Jean Wade tries to pass Saffron Harris's guard and manages to get her leg free and moves to side mount. Tilly isn’t done advancing as she swiftly shifts to north-south position and tries to finish with a north south choke! Punishing hold! Harris manages pushes Tilly-Jean forward against her back and breaks the lock!
Saffron Harris scrambles on the ground and ends up with Wade on top of Saffron in her closed guard. Tilly looks to have great cardio so far that will help her put on great performances. With Harris holding Tilly in her closed guard, Harris looks to make a move but Tilly counters and slices through her guard to get right into full mount! Nice counter! Wade tries to keep her position while looking for an opening to land some GnP. Tilly-Jean Wade controls her positioning despite Saffron Harris efforts to escape from the full mount. Saffron Harris won’t give up and instead tries to roll to her side and trap Tilly-Jean Wade in her guard but Tilly keeps good control and remains in full mount. Wade suddenly holds Saffron Harris's arm and tries an armbar! Oh no! Harris easily slips out of the lock and now she is in a closed guard over Tilly-Jean Wade!
Wade is quick to respond and manages to hit a slick reversal that scores a full mount over Saffron Harris! Wade throws her leg over Harris's shoulder in an omoplata attempt! That Omoplata looks tight and you can see the pain reflected in Harris's eyes! Saffron sits up and manages to slip her arm out and manages to use the opportunity to get side control! Saffron Harris is quick to isolate Tilly-Jean Wade's left arm looking for an armbar. Tilly manages to sit up and pull her arm out of danger and now Harris has lost her dominate positioning on the ground.
Tilly-Jean Wade is in open guard over Harris and quickly transitions to side mount. Saffron Harris attempts to trap Tilly-Jean Wade in her guard but Tilly keeps control and remains in side mount. Tilly-Jean Wade isolates Saffron Harris's arm and neck looking for an arm triangle but Harris is able to relieve the pressure on her neck and slip out of the hold. With Tilly holding side control, Harris tries to show some ground skills but Wade uses her strength to keep Wade down and in place. Saffron Harris gets sloppy with her movements and Tilly takes advantage by sliding her knee across Saffron’s stomach to advance to full mount! Harris tries to move on the ground and escape from the full mount! Tilly-Jean Wade doesn't want to lose his advantageous position and he struggles to maintain the full mount. The referee decides to stand up the fighters since there was not much action on the ground.
Both fighters have climbed to their feet and they continue the fight standing. The people who are watching this in venue are cheering for the fighters. Harris and Wade circle around the center of the cage. Tilly studies her opponent looking for a hole in her defense. Saffron Harris moves forward and launches a low kick but Wade checks it! Tilly looks to counter now! Tilly-Jean Wade launches a rapid series of punches taking Harris from one end of the cage to the other as the buzzer sounds! That's awesome! The ref tells the fighters to go to their corners as the round ends!

ROUND TWO

The round starts with some great movement from Harris who is bobbing and weaving in the center of the cage. Tilly wants to take the fight where she has the advantage and tries to clinch. Tilly Wade grabs hold of Harris but Saffron pushes away and keeps the fight at striking range. Wade barges forward and grabs hold of Saffron against, not wanting to break the clinch as he struggles to grapple with Saffron Harris Both fighters are tied in a clinch! A dirty boxing lesson by Harris who is trying to punish Tilly-Jean Wade's ribs with a few punches. Wade brings his opponent closer to her body to block Harris's punches. Harris gets sloppy here and it's time for Tilly-Jean Wade to fight back! Wade is launching some bone breaking punches to Harris's ribs while in the clinch. Wow. You can see the pain in Saffron Harris's eyes!
Harris tries to breaks Tilly-Jean Wade's resistance with a few punches as she tries to push Tilly against the corner of the cage. Harris is struggling here and she’ll need to improve her position in the clinch now to cause any real damage to Wade. Saffron Harris pushes away Wade trying to keep the fight at striking range but Wade doesn't want to break and maintains her hooks on Saffron harris. Saffron gains superior positioning in the clinch as she gains double underhooks and Tilly-Jean Wade tries to shrug her way out of the clinch but now it’s Harris who plummels through and manages to retain her positioning. .
Tilly-Jean Wade seems fresh. She still looks like she has a lot of gas in her tank. In attempt to break free, Tilly pushes off of Saffron Harris and starts launching a flurry of hooks and body shots! Harris stumbles backwards but Tilly chases her around the cage and continues the rain of blows! Overwhelmed, Saffron tries to clinch with Tilly and quickly tries to pull guard but Wade breaks free and Saffron Harris hits the canvas butt first and remains on her back.
Wade launches a kick to Harris's thigh Harris checks that kick! Tilly-Jean Wade gets sloppy and Saffron Harris tries to take advantage. Saffron Harris kicks his legs trying to keep Tilly-Jean Wade away and there’s no damage done by those kicks. Tilly is standing while Harris is on the ground on her back. Tilly-Jean Wade creates space and allows Saffron Harris to stand up. Wade launches a stiff jab! That barely hits Harris's face but it seems like one finger has poked her eye! Does the referee see that? Jordan Ripley didn't see that and Haris is forced to fight through the eye poke!
Harris studies her opponent and is looking for a hole in her defense. Tilly-Jean Wade has found an opening in the defense of Harris, launching a big uppercut Bingo! Harris is wobbling! Wade dodges a strike and counters with a crushing hook that almost lifts Harris off the ground! Tilly-Jean Wade put some serious power behind that superman punch! That's just incredible! That punch hits Saffron Harris's face like a wrecking ball! Saffron desperately clinches her opponent and tries to grapple with Tilly by pushing her against the fence in a plum position but Wade pushes away Harris to keep the fight at striking range. Saffron stumbles backwards and Tilly-Jean Wade circles her to control the center of the cage.
Wade throws a one-two combo then fakes a move to fire a big right hand on the chin! The strikes hit home! Tilly-Jean Wade is opening up on Harris and raining down combinations! Harris's corner looks worried! Tilly-Jean Wade leans forwards and tries to grapple with Harris. Wade showing her clinch skills. The fighters are clinching. Wade doesn't want to clinch now as she ducks under Saffron Harris grasp and moves away! Tilly-Jean Wade goes with a looping right hand while Saffron Harris jumps back and jabs but Harris seems staggered and Tilly-Jean Wade runs to capitalize with a bunch of jabs and crosses!
Harris throws a lazy kick and Wade dodges and fires an uppercut that almost takes Saffron’s head clean off her shoulders! Tilly is in firm control as long as the fight remains standing here! Incredible haymaker from Tilly-Jean Wade! That shot was nasty, the way Saffron Harris's head got snapped backwards! Wade wants to close the range and tries to grapple… nice move! She clinches with Saffron and secures a single collar tie. Sick uppercut from the clinch by Tilly-Jean Wade! That one almost breaks Harris's chin! Her legs give out from underneath her and she collapses to the ground! Wade is standing over Harris who is on ground in survival mode! Wade launches a kick to Harris's thigh and a huge popping sound is heard due to the impact! Wade launches another kick to Harris's thigh and another hard pop is heard! Saffron Harris is visibly in pain, the referee may need to stop this fight!
Tilly-Jean Wade creates space and allows Saffron Harris to stand up.Harris slowly climbs to her feet and is standing now. Tilly-Jean Wade has found an opening in the defense of Harris, launching a big hook Bang! That could break Harris's ribs. The ref stops the action. The round is over. Tilly Jean raises her hands in celebration, while Saffron Harris stumbles over to her corner for her corners instructions.

The final round is underway and Saffron Harris is measuring Wade with her jab to start the round but Wade isn't fazed. Tilly looks for angles as she throws a few jabs that are countered by Saffron Harris's punches but moments later, she’s on the receiving end of a great combo delivered by Wade. Tilly moves forward looking for some action and manages to clinch Saffron up with double underhooks! A wicked punch by Tilly-Jean Wade rocks Harris who slumps down to a single knee! Jordan Ripley has seen enough and waves off the fight to end the punishment for Harris!!!
