REFEREE: Herschel Warden

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[With the bell announcing the first round, both fighters move towards the center of the cage. Gamboa moves, kinda looking for a quick takedown, James fakes a punch and shows some footwork moving away from Gamboa. Yet it is James who takes the fight to the ground first and moves to open guard over Gamboa.]

[Gamboa tries to defend himself from bottom throwing a few punches that are blocked by James, who looks to capitalize on the position by looking for a leg lock that Gamboa easily breaks. James puts his fingers right in Gamboa’s face, a move that elicits a reaction from Gamboa’s corner as the Cuban shakes his head and continues fighting from bottom. After a few rather uninspiring moments, Herschel Warden stands both fighters up and has them continue fighting on their feet.]

[With the clock hitting a 1:45 of the first round both fighters are showing a ton of respect for each other, keeping their distance. Reggie James moves in again and grabs Gamboa’s leg trying to take him down; but Gamboa’s wrestling background kicks in and he keeps himself on his feet. Yusnuel Gamboa fired a punch and moved aside avoiding staying close to James; who quickly moved towards his opponent and the two exchanged a wild range of strikes, with Gamboa connecting some really good ones.]

[The Cuban looks for a hole in his opponent’s defense, while Reggie James tries to bring the fight back to the ground and, down goes Gamboa. James is in open guard once more and, again, looks to finish the fight with a leg lock; but Gamboa manages to avoid the submission as the clock hit 3:15 of the first round.]

[As the clock winds down, James looks to capitalize in his position and tries a kneebar; but Gamboa manages to escape the move throwing some precise kicks and climbs back to his feet. James has his back on the ground and throws an up-kick towards Gamboa’s head, but Gamboa leans backward. Herschel Warden gives space for Reggie James to stand up and bring the fight back to the feet as both fighters exchange wildly and missing wildly too.]

[Yet the wild exchange served its purpose for Reggie James as he found another opening to bring Gamboa back to the ground looking to continue showing his superiority with the BJJ background he has. Gamboa hits James on the ribs, but they seem to be weak punches as the clock hits 3:55 of the first round. Both fighters struggle as James pushes Gamboa against the fence looking to improve his position, but Gamboa manages to block really well those advances.]

[Reggie James wants to finish this fight, but Gamboa doesn’t give him the luxury and uses his wrestling skills to position himself in side control. But both fighters seem a bit too concerned with maintaining position and Herschel Warden has seen enough, standing both fighters again as the clock hits the 4:55 mark of the first round. Just as the round was about to end, James shoots for a takedown, but Gamboa managed to sprawl and push James against the cage hitting him in the ribs as the round expired.]

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[So far Reggie James has found a lot of success in taking this fight to the ground and controlling the pace with his Jiu Jitsu and he looks to do more of the same here in the second round as he attempts another one leg takedown; but Gamboa jumps backwards and frees his leg. James on the ground tries to bring his opponent with him, but Gamboa won’t budge, forcing James to pull guard. Yet it is James who stays active attempting a triangle from bottom, which Gamboa avoids; then transitions into an armbar attempt; but Gamboa slips out again and avoids any danger getting back to his feet.]

[Reggie James flails some kicks looking to keep Gamboa at a distance, which gives him some space to get back to his feet. Gamboa tries to slip in a jab, but James ducked and once more looked for a takedown. Yusnuel Gamboa showing great balance tries to push James away, only for James to grab him by the waist and bring him down; but again, to no avail. James then attempted a sweep single, but Gamboa was prepared and shrugged the takedown attempt; forcing James into a clinch.]

[Reggie James seems to be getting a bit desperate as he hasn’t been able to put Gamboa away yet, and tries a flying heel hook; but Gamboa’s defense is spot on and avoids the audacious attempt by James. Not showing any signs of giving up, James attempts to take down Gamboa by the waist again, and again his attempt gets thwarted; as the clock hits the 2:15 mark of the second round.]

[A couple more takedown attempts by James are also thwarted by Gamboa; who throws a couple of punches that just missed the mark as the clock continues to wind down in the second round. Both fighters circle each other with Gamboa throwing some jabs, trying to connect with anything and James managing to slip in some takedown attempts that went nowhere; until James tried a flying kimura and in the process managed to bring Yusnuel Gamboa to the mat… yet the motion was so that James couldn’t keep control over Gamboa’s body and Yusnuel was able to scramble back to his feet.]

[As the clock hit 3:55 of the second round, it was more of the same, with James attempting takedown after takedown and Gamboa’s defensive wrestling being on point thwarting any attempt by his opponent to bring him down. Ultimately, James’ insistence paid off and he managed to bring Gamboa down; but once there, the struggle seemed to have gotten the best of Reggie James as Gamboa managed to roll on the ground and move into full mount over Reggie James. Gamboa throws a couple of punches right as the buzzer sounds and the round finishes.]

=========================================

ROUND THREE

=========================================

[Round three begins right where round two started and ended; with Reggie James looking to take Gamboa down and Gamboa’s defense being right on point. Another flying heel hook attempt by Reggie James!]

[Yet again, Gamboa manages to defend and stand as James stays with his back on the ground. This time around, Gamboa wastes no time and throws a vicious kick to James’ thigh that hits the mark. James defends himself throwing an up-kick aimed at Gamboa’s head, but Gamboa leaned out of the way. Seemingly getting tired of the situation, Gamboa moves away from James and points at the mat daring James to stand up. Reggie smiles and obliges.]

[It seems like the taunt didn’t sit well with James as he seems to have a malicious smile on his face; Gamboa tries to slip in a jab; but James ducks it, and slipped in a sweep single; grabbing Gamboa’s ankle and bringing him down to the mat.]

[James is in closed guard over Gamboa; but shows some bruises after the exchanges he’s had on the ground with the cuban. It appears that James is getting a bit tired, as Gamboa managed to reverse him on the ground with ease.]

[Yet this is what Reggie James seemingly wanted, as he sinks in a triangle that almost choked Gamboa out; but Pretty Boy managed to slip his head out of the lock at the very last second. Both fighters continue struggling on the mat, and it seems as if Reggie James is having trouble with his breathing as he seems to be breathing heavily while on the ground. Due to a lack of activity, Herschel Warden steps in once more, standing both fighters up.]

[Reggie James pushed his mouthpiece out a bit to take a breather and Gamboa seems to be somewhat fresh, smiling at his opponent. Reggie James moves in once more for a takedown and Gamboa goes down once more; but after a few defensive kicks from Gamboa; we’re back to square one… Gamboa on his feet, James on his back flailing kicks to keep his opponent at bay. Herschel Warden halts the fight to stand Reggie James and both fighters resume the fight on their feet.]

[Gamboa threw a combination and managed to land a couple of shots that kept James away; mounting some momentum. James, having trouble breathing, shoots another takedown; but Gamboa jumped backward avoiding going back to the ground. Pretty Boy lands a couple of nice punches that staggered James backwards.]

[Gamboa is smelling blood and continues launching bombs at Reggie James. James is moving backwards and Gamboa taunts him asking if he came to fight or to run. After a couple of jabs from Gamboa, James started showing signs of bruising; but didn’t stop fighting as he shot for another takedown; that Gamboa managed to sprawl and keep the fight on the feet.]

[The clock said 3:25 of the third round and Reggie James was getting really desperate as he jumped in catching Yusnuel Gamboa’s arm looking for a flying armbar; but Gamboa broke the lock and got side mount over Reggie James. Gamboa has control of the position and James works on the ground with his fingers all over Gamboa’s face; which again elicits a complaint from Gamboa’s corner.]

[Using the moment, James looked to apply a triangle, but Gamboa cut to the side and passed to side mount. Herschel Warden stands both fighters up as he sees another instance of lack of activity. Gamboa presses over James, but Reggie pushes Gamboa away from him, seemingly recovering his breath. The clock says 4:50 of the third round and both fighters circle around the mat as Gamboa throws a wild uppercut to the body as the buzzer sounds signaling the end of the fight.]

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[Both fighters touch gloves, then Altman drops for a double leg takedown! Tweeds tries to resist, but eventually gets taken down--but manages to pull Altman into his guard. Altman works to pass to half-guard, but Tweeds is a step ahead of him and turns him over before he can get past, turning all the way into full mount! Altman shrimps out and tries to escape back to his guard, but Tweeds rolls with him and ends up taking Altman’s back! He secures a hook quickly, but Altman blocks him from securing the second hook--for a while, at least. Tweeds throws a couple punches to Altman’s body, just enough to open his defense, then secures the second hook!]

[Tweeds digs for a rear naked choke, almost wrapping an arm around Altman’s neck, but Altman tucks his chin and keeps himself safe for the moment. Tweeds manages to secure more of a neck crank than a full choke; Altman visibly grits his teeth and ultimately resists the submission, freeing his head before turtling up. Tweeds switches his attack, landing a few back hands to the head. Dusty Whittaker warns Altman that he needs to defend better or the fight might be stopped, and when he moves his hand to cover the punches, Tweeds goes back to attacking the choke! Altman defends the choke well, and eventually catches hold of Tweeds’ arm, forcing a stalemate--and, eventually, forcing Dusty Whittaker to stand the fight up.]

[Tweeds moves forward and lands a massive haymaker that connects with Altman’s jaw, almost knocking him down, and visibly stunning him. Altman circles away, then, moves back in, swinging with a massive overhand punch! Tweeds backpedals to avoid the contact, with Altman in pursuit; he pays with a couple jab,s that Altman parries, but connects with a massive hook that drops Altman to that mat! Altman recovers and gets his feet up to serve as a guard, but Tweeds just tags him with a couple kicks to the thighs before backing up, beckoning Altman back to his feet.]

[Tweeds lands a few jabs and straight rights, touching Altman up with a series of punches that keep him on the back foot. Altman tries to wing a looping overhand right, but Tweeds avoids and counters with a middle kick that gets deflected. He then moves in and lands a stiff jab that rocks Altman’s head back, but when they disengage, Altman’s visibly wincing--and a replay shows that a finger may have encountered Altman’s eye! Dusty didn’t see the foul, though, and Altman circles away rather than engage, to recover his vision and his breath.]

[The two engage in a wild exchange of punches, both landing solid punches but Tweeds comes out on the better end of things when they disengage. He launches a series of rapid punches, backing Altman up from one end of the cage to the other! Altman drops and shoots for a single-leg takedown, securing it after some resistance from Tweeds! Altman passes to side control, catching a double wrist lock and tries to secure a kimura! Tweeds struggles and eventually breaks the lock, before shrimping away to secure his full guard. After a few seconds, the horn sounds, and Dusty Whittaker separates them.]

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[Tweeds opens the round with a massive right hand that stuns Altman! Altman tries to counter with a series of punches of his own, but Tweeds avoids them and lands with a counter uppercut that snaps Altman’s head backward. Visibly groggy and stunned, Altman’s defense is down when Tweeds lands an overhand right that drops him to the mat! Tweeds follows up with a series of shots on the ground before Dusty Whittaker pushes him off, waving the fight off!]

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell sounds to begin the fight, and Saffron moves forward, extending a glove to touch up with Blue--who responds with a straight right hand that clips Saffron on the chin! She stumbles back, her corner screaming over the cheap shot. Blue presses forward, but before she can throw any more punches, Saffron drops for a single leg takedown! It’s not the tightest shot she could make, though, and Blue’s able to push her away and free her leg, staying up on her feet.]

[Blue presses forward and jabs at Saffron, forcing her to return fire, but Blue’s able to get the better of the exchanges. She ends the combo with a looping right hand that clips Saffron on the chin, but she bites down on her mouthpiece and keeps her footing. Despite her advantage, Blue takes a step back to gauge her distance. Blue paws with a couple jabs before snapping forward with a kick to the midsection--that Saffron deflects with both arms. Blue doubles down on her efforts, connecting with a roundhouse kick to the midsection that cracks through the room.]

[Saffron moves in close to get out of kicking range, but Blue’s prepared and catches her with a huge straight right! Blue avoids a massive counter strike from Saffron, before connecting with a huge three punch combo--a straight, then a hook, then an uppercut that almost drops Saffron again! She grits her teeth and stays on her feet, though, and still presses forward--and almost gets dropped by a massive head kick! Visibly dazed, Saffron clinches up with Blue--who wastes no time in digging several shots to the body. With Saffron on the back foot, Blue pushes free of the clinch and spins for a spinning back kick--but misses, as Saffron manages to back peddle away from the impact.]

[Blue ends up off balance, and Saffron tries to sweep her leg out from under her, perhaps to take the fight to the mat. Blue barely manages to check the kick before recovering her balance, tagging Saffron with a couple body shots. Saffron moves in and flicks out a few straight punches, but Blue blocks the impact before responding with a straight right, then a low leg kick. Blue flicks out a few admittedly lazy jabs, and Saffron responds with a high kick--that Blue narrowly manages to deflect, before responding with a massive uppercut!]

[Saffron drops for a low shot, but Blue responds by almost taking her head off with a high kick to the head, that Saffron only barely manages to avoid. She gets back up, but Blue tags her with a quick spinning backfist before Saffron can get her guard up! Staggered, Saffron backs up--just in time to avoid a looping right hand from Blue, but “Bullet” isn’t deterred, pressing forward with a series of straight punches that back Saffron toward the cage. Blue launches a huge head kick that connects with a thud! Saffron’s corner yells for her to take the fight to the ground, but Blue tags her with a couple leg kicks to prevent the takedown before it even comes.]

[Saffron presses forward, despite the damage she’s received this round, forcing Blue onto the back foot for a moment--but she can’t land anything of substance, while Blue manages to connect with a couple more straight punches that open a small cut under Saffron’s right eye. Saffron wipes the blood away and circles back to the center of the cage, dropping her level and shooting for a takedown again...but Blue manages to stay on her feet, and tags Saffron with a couple more leg kicks. Blue presses forward, but the round ends before she can land anything else.]

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[Saffron comes out more aggressive in the second round, pushing forward with a series of jabs, but Blue’s able to avoid them and counter with a stinging low leg kick that keeps Saffron off-balance. Blue circles back to the center of the cage, looking for an angle before stepping in and flicking out a couple jabs. Saffron parries the first couple punches, but gets caught on the back end with a one-two combination.]

[Saffron launches a low kick that Blue checks, and counters with a stunning counter hook that rocks Saffron’s head back! Blue gestures for Saffron to keep coming, seeming to enjoy that she’s had the better of the counters so far--and Saffron obliges, winging huge punches with intent of stopping Blue in her tracks, but Blue’s defense is up to snuff, and she absorbs most of the damage with her arms.]

[The two circle each other for the better part of the next minute, with only the occasional flicked out jab registering as any kind of offense. Blue switches things up eventually, and throws a leg kick first, which Saffron checks, then a body kick that lands with a thud. Blue gets Saffron to bite on a feigned punch, then follows with a solid straight right. Saffron pushes forward and wings a massive punch, but Blue side-steps the shot and tags Saffron with a series of straight punches, then a looping left hand that almost drops her!]

[Blue tags Saffron with a one-two combo, then when Saffron backs up to avoid the impact of a third punch, Blue steps in closer and nails her with a massive hook! Saffron tries to counter with a straight right of her own, but Blue deflects it, spinning around and cracking Saffron with another spinning back fist! Blue clearly wants to finish the fight before the end of the second round, landing massive punches that Saffron doesn’t seem to have the defense for. Willie Green almost steps in to stop the fight, but the horn sounds to end round 2.]

=========================================

ROUND THREE

=========================================

[Saffron knows she has to finish the fight, and doesn’t waste any time in trying to find an angle to attack. Blue tags her with a low leg kick that keeps Saffron from engaging too much, though, before pawing at her with a series of jabs--then launches a powerful head kick that finally drops Saffron to the mat! Before Blue can follow up with any more damage, Willie Green steps in and waves the fight off!]
