WINTRUST ARENA

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

NOVEMBER 24, 2018

[After the opening intro video finishes up, we fade into the Wintrust Arena in southside Chicago, Illinois which is packed with 10,387 fans in attendance. The crowd is on their feet cheering in anticipation for the night’s bouts. Camera angles pan around from one point to another, catching fans, athletes, and celebrities in attendance. We then transition to meet the voices of the octagon, Toussaint Harper and Warhead Williams standing cageside.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Welcome ladies and gentlemen, we are live on the Battleground Network at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois and this is UGP 5! I am Toussaint Harper and alongside me is the iconic Warhead Williams! Tonight we have in store another stacked card from fighters making their debuts to championship wars!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Some if debut fighters tonight include our opening fight between Lightweight contenders Aryeh Rothstein and Takeshi Kato. A late addition to the card, these guys have been ready for this opportunity. A great clash of styles between a striker versus grappler, it’s sure to get this night set on the right foot.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Another highly anticipated debut comes next as Aries Reed steps inside a Union GP cage against Aeron Roberts. This one is an interesting one as Roberts is on the last fight of her initial contract and there’s speculations whether she will be re-signed or if she is even considering the notion!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

If you have any doubts in this sport then you’re in trouble! You have to be fully committed or you’re just putting yourself in serious danger. But from there, we have a Cruiserweight bout as Jakko Wirman takes on Kevin Van Damne. This is Wirman’s first fight since joining the Real Killas MMA camp and there’s been a lot of hype behind it. Jakko was impressive in his debut win, and now we get to see what he can do since joining a world class training camp!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

From there we have a Middleweight bout as number one contender Simon Bishop takes on Sang-Hyun Lee. Two elite submission artists that are in two different situations. Bishop is looking to rebound after suffering a loss to eventual Middleweight Champion Cristian Bonanno while Lee continues his search for his first win.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

After that we have another Middleweight bout between two top contenders as Edan McLeod takes on Jeremiah Ford. Edan has been absolutely phenomenal in his two fights and a win over Ford tonight will certainly cement his name in title discussions while a win for Ford will keep him scratching at another shot at Bonanno.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

After that we a Lightweight bout featuring the debut f Gina VanZant a she takes on Kaelan Laughlin. This has arguably been the most talked about fight on the card, as originally Laughlin was set to face Annie Zellor. However, Zellor was pulled from the fight ten days ago, and VanZant stepped right up.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

It’s definitely going to be a tough road for both women as Gina takes a short notice fight and Kaelan has to switch from preparing for a submission artist to a striker. This fight here is one I’m probably looking forward to the most. Then our Headline Fight of the Night, Jordan Parker-Kane is set to defend his Loghtweight Championship against Hailey McIntyre. JPK showed to have a lot of heart on his way to winning the title, but he hasn’t faced someone like Hailey. Hailey is one of the few fighters in the division who competes at the weight limit, and her ground game mirrors Jordan’s. This will be the biggest test Jordan has had in my mind, which leaves everything open to speculation until that cage door closes and the bell rings!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And finally our Main Event of the evening is the third installment of Ferdinand Diao versus Derrick La’Bell. These two debuted against each other at UGP 1, where La’Bell scores the first round KO. Their next encounter was for the Heavyweight Championship in which Diao shocked the world and put La’Bell to sleep. With it tied one-all, we are clambering to see the finale between these two and find out once and for all who the king is in the land of the giants! And now we turn it over to Mike Dempsey waiting in the octagon!

RAPPERS I MONKEY FLIP EM WITH THE FUNKY RHYTHM I BE KICKING

MUSICIAN, INFLICTING COMPOSITION

OF PAIN, SCARFACE SNIFFING COCAINE

HOLDING A M-16, WITH THE PEN I’M EXTREME, NOW...

[Strutting down the walk way, he repped the solid white robes, blue lining at the cuffs and edges, rocking the big, blue, Star of David across the expanse of his back. Mirrored aviators sunglasses obscuring his eyes, gloved hands shadow boxing along to the beat of 'N.Y. State of Mind' by Nas as he practically danced to the music. Confident, maybe even cocky, he was reverently pulling the robes and his sunglasses off of him, handing it off to his corner crew as he entered the cage.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Making his official Union Grand Prix debut, “The Hebrew Hammer” Aryeh Rothstein has already been making waves with the crowd. This guy loves to trash on his opponents and his lifestyle is, how you put it, unorthodox?

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

You’re right, he’s known to talk some trash but he’s been somewhat respectful with this debut fight. Whether it was because of being a short notice addition to the card or just the level of respect to a more seasoned fighter like Kato, but his demeanor has been the opposite of what we normally expect.

ALRIGHT, GAMBINO IS A MASTERMIND

FUCK A BITCH TO PASS THE TIME

MASS APPEAL, ORANGE RIND

SMOKE YOUR GREEN, I’M SPENDIN' MINE

[“Freaks and Geeks" by Childish Gambino thumps over the loudspeaker and Takeshi Kato emerges to the stage wearing his black and neon green walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Kato has a laser focused look on his face as he slowly prowls down the aisle. He makes it to cageside where he gets checked out by the fight official. Once he’s cleared, he races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying put in his corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And another debut for this fight, “The Genetic Freak” Takeshi Kato has been eager for this opportunity. He routinely trains with fellow HILITE Fight Club member Nathan Lucas, and after watching some of his recent fights, he got the itch to make a comeback.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Kato is still relatively young but has a good established career in MMA and other combat sports. He’s talked for a while of making the jump into Union GP and he finally gets his chance. Fighting in the stacked Lightweight Division, his name alone won’t get him instantly opportunities. He’s going to have to work for it and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois for UGP 5! And now, this opening fight is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Lightweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Grappler with a Union GP record of 0-0. He stands at 6’ even and weighing in at 141 pounds. He is from New York City, New York, fighting out of Real Killas MMA, he is “The Hebrew Hammer” Aryeh Rothstein!

[Aryeh Rothstein glares at his opponent from the opposite corner. His demeanor has quickly shifted from fun-loving to furious and focused as he raises a fist in the air to acknowledge the crowd.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Japanese Jiu Jitsu Grappler with a Union GP record of 0-0. He stands at 5’5” and weighing in at 142 pounds. He is from Osaka, Japan, fighting out of HILITE Fighting Club, he is “The Genetic Freak” Takeshi Kato!

[Takeshi Kato looks at the ground while he does his breathing exercises. He knows he can not fail this night.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Big debut fight for both of these competitors. As you mentioned, the Lightweight Division is stacked with a ton of depth so getting a win tonight will be huge. 54% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that Aryeh Rothstein walks out of this one victorious.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

It’s a close call and with good reason. Both of these guys display a great wealth of MMA knowledge and as always, anything can happen inside the octagon. And now ladies and gentlemen it’s time to get this night kicked into gear! The referee for this opening bout is Jordan Ripley. He checks off with each fighter one last time and then calls for the bell! And this fight is underway!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighters close the distance. Kato dances around looking for angles and Rothstein is asking him if he came today for fighting or running. Aryeh fakes a move and launches a nice uppercut that Kato blocks and made it look easy! Rothstein fails here and it's time for Takeshi to fight back! A high kick from Kato grazes Rothstein's head, but he seems okay. Rothstein fakes a move and then launches a liver kick! Kato blocks it and pushes his opponent back! Aryeh closes the distance with his opponent wanting some action and tries a high kick! Kato blocks.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Wow, that could have finished this match! Kato is on his defensive A-Game early in this one and Rothstein is swinging for the fences!

[Kato is trying to counter now and throws an uppercut that lands clean! Kato follows up and shoots for a double leg takedown. He hits it and Rothstein is taken off his feet, but he manages to pull Kato into his guard.]

[Kato is in closed guard and Rothstein launches a few punches to Kato's cheek from the guard. Kato uses his head to cover the punches and presses his head forward to try and prevent any further damage. Rothstein sees an opening and tries to roll, but Kato plants his foot to keep his position on the ground. Kato now works to free himself and eventually gets to an open guard.]

[Rothstein tries to close his guard back around Kato but is not able to. He tries again but comes up empty handed. “Stand up!” This is what Kato's cornermen are shouting. Rothstein winds back and lays into Kato's ribs with a couple of big punches from guard. Kato blocks the hits as he continues to work on the ground. Kato is trying to counter now! Kato quickly and successfully jumps to side mount.]

[Both fighters struggle for position and Kato looks to mount Aryeh Rothstein. Takeshi slides his knee across and gets to full mount. Rothstein tries to roll to his side and trap Takeshi Kato in his guard bit he keeps good control and remains in full mount. After a while, Jordan Ripley has seen enough stalling on the ground and stands up the fighters. Both fighters continue the fight on their feet and the crowd cheers them on!]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

These fighters looked pretty evenly matched on the ground as neither was able to get enough control to work in some offense. Now let’s see what they can do on their feet.

[Takeshi steps in with a punch that just grazes Rothstein's cheek. Kato follows up and launches a kick but Rothstein checks it and keeps some distance. Kato, showing excellent timing, blasts Aryeh Rothstein with a right hand.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Great hook by Takeshi Kato! Aryeh Rothstein gets caught and slips to the ground!

[Kato is standing while Rothstein is on the ground on his back. Rothstein kicks his legs trying to keep Takeshi Kato away. No damage done by those kicks. Rothstein tries to hit Kato with a kick to his knee from the ground but Kato narrowly dodges it. Kato decides to go after his opponent and jumps inside Rothstein's guard. Rothstein did not see that coming! Kato is in open guard over Rothstein now.]

[Rothstein throws a few weak punches that Kato blocks effectively. Kato moves on the ground and gets to side mount. Aryeh Rothstein tries to quickly turn in and scramble out but Kato timed him perfectly and locks up a guillotine! Aryeh fights hard to escape the choke but Kato has it locked in deep! Jordan Ripley keeps a close eye and soon notices Aryeh’s limbs go limp and Ripley pries Kato off and calls the fight!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

That’s it! Takeshi Kato caught Aryeh Rothstein with a rear naked choke and The Hebrew Hammer has nowhere to go!

[The crowd bursts into cheers as Kato celebrates his victory with his corner crew. Doctors tend to Rothstein for a few moments before helping him back up to his feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet back in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Jordan Ripley has called for a stop in this fight at 3 minutes 28 seconds of the very first round for your winner by submission, “The Genetic Freak” Takeshi Kato!

[The crowd cheers as Kato has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each other’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Although he came up short in his debut, he showed what kind of heart Rothstein has. He refused to tap and instead fought to the bitter end, eventually succumbing to passing out.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

This was a great debut fight for both competitors tonight and the two showed some great potential in the deepest and arguably most competitive division in Union GP. Spectacular opening fight and the fans here tonight are showing their appreciation to these warriors!

UGP5_ITC_Calabrese.png

IN THE CROWD

[As we break for a short intermission between fights, camera angles pan throughout the crowd to showcase the excitement here tonight. Among the crowd we spot Union GP Heavyweight contender Donnie Calabrese.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Looks like we have Chicago’s very own Donnie Calabrese is in the house tonight!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Donnie is coming off his first victory at Boss Fight III, defeating Shotgun Koa is spectacular fashion.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

He showed a lot of improvement in that fight, utilizing some takedowns and ground game en route to the win. The guy is a fan favorite with an enormous cult following. I think if he manages to earn another victory or two, we just might see him competing for a championship.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I’d have to agree with you Harpy. The Heavyweight Division is slowly growing, so now it the time to get those wins and continue to improve. I’m sure he would love to be competing again here in his hometown, but he knows he’s gotta take what he can get.

UGP5_Roberts-vs-Reed.png

MANY MEN, WISH DEATH UPON ME

BLOOD IN MY EYE DOG AND I CAN’T SEE

I’M TRYING TO BE WHAT I’M DESTINED TO BE

AND NIGGAS TRYING TO TAKE MY LIFE AWAY

["Many Men” by 50 Cent blasts over the loudspeaker and “The Silver Tongued Devil” Aries Reed emerges to the stage wearing his purple and silver walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Reed looks hyped up and can seemingly be seen talking trash as he slowly walks toward the cage. Once he makes it to cageside he gets checked out by the fight official to ensure he’s fit to fight. Once cleared, he bear crawls up the steps and stomps into the cage, giving out a loud battle cry before taking to his corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And here he is ladies and gentlemen, the debut of a very well known competitor who is still a young prospect and student of the game, Aries Reed is just moments away from making his Union Grand Prix debut! This guy is known to be a trash talker, always trying to get inside his opponents head and knock them off of their game mentally before stepping in the cage. However, quite possibly due to the short notice addition to the card, Reed has stayed relatively quiet in this last ten days.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

It’s commendable to see someone accept a fight on such short notice, but it also shows how this guy stays ready and knows he can be called upon at any moment, and he wants to stay ready. This big signing for Union GP has been talked about a lot since it was announced, and I think we’re all glad to see this guy get back into the octagon and do his thing.

ON TO BATTLE

HERE WE ARE THE HUNTERS

RED AS FIRE

CRIMSON BOW AND ARROW

["Crimson Bow And Arrow" by Epica blasts over the loudspeaker and “The Demon Queen” Aeron Roberts emerges to the stage wearing her ice blue and white walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. Roberts burrows her head down while slowly walking down the ramp. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, she climbs up the steps and calmly takes her place in her corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And now here comes one of the Middleweight competitors who is on their last fight on their initial contracts. Aeron Roberts has struggles to turn the corner in her career in Union Grand Prix thus far, but she has shown a ton of potential.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

She has been very competitive in all of her fights, but only scored a victory in one of the five so far. As you said, this is her last contracted fight on her current deal, and it has been a big mystery whether this will be it for her or not. If she can land a monumental victory over the more established name like Reed, maybe that turns enough heads in the front offices to offer her a new deal. But right now she can’t really worry about all of that. All she can control and focus on is giving everything she has here tonight.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Middleweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer and Wrestler with a Union GP record of 0-0. He stands at 6’ even and weighing in at 185 pounds. He is from Las Vegas, Nevada, fighting out of Slaughterhouse Vegas, he is “The Silver Tongued Devil” Aries Reed!

[Aries raises both arms in the air as he gives a ferocious stare down towards his opponent while Roy Rivers recites the rules.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a wrestler with a record of 1-3. She stands at 5’9” and weighing in at 178 pounds. She is from Wrexham, Wales, she is “The Demon Queen" Aeron Roberts!

[Aeron Roberts looks calm but knows she has a tough fight coming up. She steps out from the corner and raises a fist in the air before going back to bouncing in place.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Both of these fighters look to ready to go. You can listen to this crowd tonight and they seem to be behind Aries. 90% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that Aries Reed walks out victorious.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

No doubt he has a following with the accomplishments and drive he has. The referee of the bout is Roy Rivers. He checks off with each fighter one last time and calls for the fight! And here we go!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The opening bell sounds and the fight gets underway. As the two fighter draw closer, Reed tries to catch Roberts off guard with a quick double leg. Roberts gets taken down but instantly gets Reed in closed guard. Roberts passes her leg around Reed's shoulder and rolls on the ground and locks in an Omoplata! You can see the pain reflected in Reed's eyes. Aries works his way out of the hold and launches himself over his opponent, winning side mount position!]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Wow, that was close! Aeron Roberts was going for the element of surprise on the ground and nearly caught Aries!

[Aries is in side mount while Aeron attempts to trap him in her guard. Roberts manages to switch to full guard. Roberts moves to high guard and tries to close an armbar! Aries Reed breaks the lock, rolls on the ground and stands up quickly. Back to the beginning! Aries Reed is standing now.]

[Reed is standing while Roberts is on the ground on her back. Aeron Roberts doesn't want to continue the fight in this position and cautiously get to her feet while eyeing Reed. Both fighters are standing back up and the crowd cheers them on.]

[Both fighters step in and exchange wildly! Both are landing shots but without much steam behind them. Roberts then grabs her opponent by the waist and tries to take the fight to the ground. Reed struggles but is able to stay on his feet. Roberts fails here and it's time for Reed to fight back! Roberts throws a combo while Aries ducks under and catches her with a counter straight! Roberts swings again, only to get countered once more! Roberts is looking bad here! There is a small cut on Roberts' right cheek now.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Aeron Roberts is trying to bring the heat but Aries jist looks too good. He’s dodging and countering like this is a routine focus mitt drill!

[Roberts decides to launch some tentative punches but gets nothing from this exchange. Roberts moves back and takes a deep breath to try and regroup. Roberts moves back in, looking for a hole in her opponent's defense. Roberts quickly changes levels and shoots a single leg and manages to bring Reed down to the mat.]

[Roberts lands in side mount over Reed. She isolates Reed's arm and neck looking for an arm triangle but Reed is able to relieve the pressure on his neck and slip out of the hold. Roberts continues working with the arm and now looks to go for an armbar. Reed again escapes the submission attempt, sitting up and pulling his arm out of danger! Roberts lost her dominant position and now Reed tries to take advantage.]

[Aries winds back and unleashes a couple of heavy punches to Aeron’s rib cage winces in visible pain with each hit. Aeron tries to isolate the arm and neck again for a triangle attempt, but Reed quickly read that one and slips out with ease. Reed shows some ground skills and first moves to half guard, then eventually works his way to full guard. Roberts tries to improve position but Reed adjusts and closes his guard. Aeron tries to escape but Reed rolls and now gets her in full mount!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Big reversal there for Reed who now has the top position!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

The guy can end this one right here with a heavy dose of ground and pound. Roberts better be careful here.

[Aries tries to keep his position while looking to maybe begin a GnP session. He is able to control

the situation despite Roberts’ attempts of escaping. Reed tries to open up Roberts' defense by faking a few punches. Once he sees the opening, he opens up a flurry of punches to the temple of Roberts! Aeron tries to stand up but Reed doesn't allow it! All Roberts can do at this point is lock Aries tight and prevent any further damaging strikes. After a moment of stalling, the referee decides to stand up both fighters. Reed and Roberts climb to their feet and they continue the fight standing as the crowd in the Wintrust Arena roar with excitement.]

[The two fighters dance around for a little while, trying to find some angles when out of nowhere Aeron rushes in and takes Aries back down to the mat with a textbook bear hug takedown. While Roberts is in open guard , she fakes a move to get Reed to react and then goes for a kneebar! Reed senses it quickly and  rolls on the ground to get free. After a few anxious kicks of his own, he escapes and gets to his feet!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Aeron Roberts is looking determined to trap Reed. She’s been persistent and has nearly caught him on a couple of occasions, but Aries’ experience keeps him safe, for now.

[Reed is standing while Roberts is on the ground on her back. Reed decides to go after his opponent and jumps inside Roberts' guard! Roberts did not see that coming! Aries is in full mount now! Roberts tries to roll to her side and trap Reed in her guard but he keeps good control and remains in full mount. She tries several times but Reed knows how to keep his advantage on the ground. Roberts looks like she’s gassing out as her movement becomes slower and more sluggish as time ticks down. Roberts tries one last time to roll to her side and trap Reed, this time getting her hip out and moving to full guard! Roberts reaches under and rolls for a quick kneebar! Reed blocks the attempt and uses the opportunity to seize half guard. Reed sits over his knees and pushes away Roberts' leg! Aries is able to put away his leg and then jumps to side mount. Just as Aries looks to be on the verge of something big, the buzzer sounds, marking the end of the round! The ref tells the fighters to go to their corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Pretty exciting opening round here for both fighters. Saw a lot of good things from Reed with his textbook striking game and controlling the tempo, while Roberts came so close to locking Reed in several vulnerable submissions.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I agree I was impressed by both fighters initiating some offense, but I would be surprised if the judges didn't see that round for Reed. He was able to set the tempo to what he wanted and tee off on Aeron on a few occasions that looked like it really took its toll on her.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Well let’s see what she can do to rebound from that here in the second!

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[The second round begins and both fighters begin to close the distance. Aries looks pretty fresh still while Roberts looks to be trying to control her breathing. As the two circle around and feel each other out, Aries comes soaring in like a wrecking ball with an overhand right that completely rocks Aeron Roberts! Roberts stumbles back and her nose begins to immediately bleed.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Bang! Roberts stops that one with her face! How is she still standing?!

[Once Roberts regains her focus, she and Reed circle back around to the center of the cage. Aries is slowing the pace of the fight a bit and circles around his opponent to box her in. He finds an opening in her defense and launches a big hook to the body! Roberts crumples over and she looks hurt! Aeron goes for a desperation double leg, but Aries sprawls back and stays on his feet. Reed closes the distance with his opponent wanting some action and then the two exchange wildly! Reed is connecting with a flurry of punches while Aeron is hitting nothing but air! Aeron finally backs off before enduring anymore damage and the crowd is on their feet for Aries Reed!]

[Both fighters now circle around back to the center of the octagon. Aries Reed showcases his boxing skills with a one-two combo and those punches are landing clean and uncontested! Roberts' mouth is bleeding now after the punishment. Aries walks down his opponent and into the fences as he continues to rain down heavy bombs! Roy Rivers is asking Roberts to defend herself! Aeron looks like she’s in a completely different dimension as Roy Rivers has finally seen enough and jumps in between the two to call off the fight!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And that’s it! It’s all over! Aries Reed finishes this fight off with a ferocious flurry of strikes and Aeron Roberts had no answer to it!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

You could see Aries sense that Aeron was totally gassed out and he just teed off on her!

[The crowd bursts into cheers as Reed celebrates his victory with his corner crew. Doctors tend to Roberts for a few moments before helping her back up to her feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet back in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Roy Rivers has called for a stop in this fight at 1 minute 38 seconds of the second round for your winner by technical knockout, “The Silver Tongued Devil” Aries Reed!

[The crowd cheers as Reed has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each other’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

A near flawless performance by the debuting Aries Reed! His seasoned skill set definitely shined bright here tonight.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He definitely impressed here tonight, no doubt about it. He just put the rest of the division on notice and quite possibly sent Aeron Roberts packing towards the unemployment line! What a helluva debut!

LOOK, PEOPLE ASK ME WHAT THE FUTURE IS

ALL I KNOW IS I’LL BE DOIN’ THIS

ALL I KNOW IS THINGS ARE MOVING QUICK

THAT’S CONVENIENT FOR ME ‘CAUSE THAT’S HOW I LIVE

[“No Name” by NF blares over the loudspeaker and Kevin Van Damne emerges to the stage wearing his black and yellow walkout fight kit with his crew following behind. KVD has a blank, stone cold expression as he appears to be laser focused.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Coming down to the cage now is a man who has been super competitive in his two fights, but has come up short in each contest. A brilliant striker with a ton of potential, he just hasn’t been able to bring everything together.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Kevin Van Damne is a young man still in the adolescent stage of his career. He has shown a lot of flashes but I agree, he still is working on putting it all together for a deadly strategy. The Cruiserweight Division is stacked with talent from top to bottom which leaves little room for errors.

CAN’T YOU SEE I’M EASILY BOTHERED BY PERSISTENCE

ONE STEP FROM LASHING OUT AT YOU

YOU WANT IN TO GET UNDER MY SKIN

AND CALL YOURSELF A FRIEND

I’VE GOT MORE FRIENDS LIKE YOU

WHAT DO I DO?

[“Walk” by Pantera shreds over the loudspeaker and “The Reaver” Jakko Wirman emerges to the stage wearing his blue and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Wirman has a focused stare in his eyes as he makes his way down the ramp. He makes it to cageside where he is inspected by the fight official to ensure he is fit to fight and legal for action. Once cleared, he climbs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And now one of the newest members of the Cruiserweight Division, Jakko Wirman steps into this fight with his first camp with the Real Killas MMA. It’s safe to say he has been in great company training for this fight, and I’m excited to see what he does out there tonight.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

No doubt being a part of Real Killas brings not only some of the best in the business, but also some notoriety. Wirman was impressive in his debut fight against Mad Maxine, but KVD is a more well-rounded fighter which will surely give him a bigger test.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following bout is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Cruiserweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer with a Union GP record of 0-2. He stands 6’2” and weighing in at 215 pounds. From Seattle, Washington, he is Kevin Van Damne!

IN THE CROWD

[Breaking away from the Cruiserweight war that just went down, the cameras once again pan across the arena to show off the sold out crowd. One camera angle happens to catch Middleweight Champion Cristian Bonanno enjoying himself in the crowd.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

We’ve got two title fights set to be defended tonight, but we have a third one here in the crowd! Middleweight Champ Cristian Bonanno has graced us with his presence!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

With three Middleweight bouts scheduled tonight, I’m sure he wanted catch a glimpse of his possible competition first hand. MISTAKE BY DRUG RESTAURANT

BEGINS TO PLAY

[“Mistake” by Drug Restaurant blasts over the loudspeaker and Sang-Hyundai Lee emerges to the stage wearing his green and black walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Lee has a focused stare in his eyes as he makes his way down the ramp. He makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he jogs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Making his way to the cage now is a 21 years young prospect “The Technical Wizard” Sang-Hyun Lee. This kid has shown a lot of good things in his two Union GP fights but is still searching for his first win. His first two contests were against some world class elite strikers and I think they were able to catch him off guard, but this fight here is perfect for him.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He’ll be going up against Simon Bishop, who is also known as a submission artist. Lee will be tested here in his own environment and we’ll probably get to see what he can do on the ground.

NIGGA WE DOING THIS SHIT FROM CLEVELAND TO LA

NIGGA WHATEVER YOU NIGGAS WANT, WE BRINGIN IT

THUG LUV, NIGGA. WHAT TIME IS IT

YO, I DON’T GIVE A FUCK WHERE YOU LAY AT

[“Thug Luv (feat. 2Pac)” by Bone Thugs N Harmony begins thumping throughout the arena. "StrangLA” Simon Bishop slowly makes his way out while bouncing to keep warm in his all red walkout fight kit. Just behind him, guards and his corner crew follow his lead towards the octagon. Bishop doesn’t show much emotion as he makes it to cageside and gets checked by the bout official. Once cleared, he jogs up the steps and heads straight to his corner, shadow boxing along the way.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Now making his way to cageside, Simon Bishop is currently the number one contender in the extremely competitive Middleweight Division. His two losses came at the hands of the two that wound up fighting to be the first Middleweight Champion. Tonight is a chance for him to rebound and keep his name in that title contention discussion.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He’s definitely focused for this fight. With guys like Edan McLeod and fellow Real Killas MMA fighter Robert Guilliman soaring up the rankings, he’s going to need a win here to solidify his status as the number one contender and potentially earn that shot for the strap that is currently wrapped around Cristian Bonanno.

Man that was like watching a chess match it there. A lot back and forth battles for position but neither really ran away with it. Tag was too close for me to confidently make a call.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And this one goes the distance! Interesting final round. I think both fighters exhausted themselves from all of the ground positioning. Not a whole lot of action and this one will go to the judges.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Wow! A draw! Looking at the stats in this fight, it’s looks like Sang-Hyun Lee’s headbutt in the second round cost him a victory!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Pretty controversial call to dock him a point without a warning prior. The referee must have believed it to be a blatant foul. I’m sure this result will be talked about for a while! A crazy finish and it makes you wonder now what will be in store for both of these fighters now. Unbelievable!

IRIDIUM BY THE SIDH

BEGINS TO PLAY

["Iridium" by The Sidh blasts through the arena. The Scottish fighter comes out from the back with his corner following behind him. Edan bounces in place with his blue and gold fight kit on. Edan has a cool and calm swagger in his step. His collected face doesn't break as he makes his way to the cage.]

[Edan takes his tracksuit off and hands it to his coach. He hugs each member of the camp, then turns to the official. He closes his eyes as he gets checked. He opens his mouth to show his mouth guard. The official gives him the go-ahead and Edan darts up the steps. He turns to the crowd and flexes for them. Edan keeps flexing as he circles the canvas. He stops in his corner, does some fancy footwork and throws some loose strikes. He then begins to pace from side to side until the fight begins.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

One of the fasting rising fighters in UGP, Edan McLeod has been extremely impressive thus far. He’s completely demolished his competition with a KO and TKO win and we can only assume that we will see more of the same from him tonight.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He’s been so impressive with deadly accuracy. He puts the pressure on and never lets off, which has been a major problem with everyone he’s been up against. His opponent tonight has been impressive in controlling the fight so this will be a big test for McLeod to see if he gets slowed down at all.

THIS IS THE YEAR WHERE HOPE FAILS YOU

THE TEST SUBJECTS RUN THE EXPERIMENTS

AND THE BASTARDS YOU KNOW, IS THE HERO YOU HATE

BUT COHESING IS POSSIBLE IF WE STRIVE

[“Pulse of the Maggots” by Slipknot blasts over the loudspeaker and Jeremiah Ford emerges to the stage wearing his black and yellow walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. Hailey has a scowling fierce look on her face as she slowly prowls down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up by the fight official. Once she’s cleared, she races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying out in her corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Jeremiah Ford has been solid in his first few fights in Union GP. He fought his way in the Middleweight Round Robin to a title opportunity, but he lost a second time to the champ, Cristian Bonanno. Tonight he looks to rebound against a very tough opponent.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

If Ford wants to win here tonight, he’s going to have to slow Edan down. The Natural’s speed in anything but natural. I think if Ford can take him to the mat and control the fight on the ground, he’s got a real good chance to pull it off.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Middleweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer with a Union GP record of 2-0. He stands at 6’1” and weighing in at 185 pounds. He is from Froghall, Aberdeen, Scotland, fighting out of The Factory, he is “The Natural” Edan McLeod!

[Edan McLeod is beating himself up in the corner before the fight begins, smacking himself in the face, body and legs to get ready for his scrap.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Wrestler with a Union GP record of 3-2. He stands at 5’7” and weighing in at 180 pounds. He is from Oskaloosa, Iowa, he is Jeremiah “Bullfrog” Ford!

[Jeremiah Ford stays put in his corner as he raises his fists in the air. He seems confident and looks calm but knows he has a tough fight coming up.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Big match-up here in a very competitive Middleweight Division. Both of these guys are right at the top of the contenders list and whoever walks out of this one will arguably be in line for a title shot. 55% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that Edan McLeod will be the one who walks out victorious in this one.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

McLeod has been on fire in his first two fights in Union GP, and the fans have certainly taken notice. And now it’s time to get things started, the referee of the bout is Herschel Warden. He checks off with each fighter one last time and calls for the fight! And here we go!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round! Both fighters close the distance and touch gloves to get this one kicked off. Edan doesn’t waste any time and rushes in with a flurry combo of punches and quickly Jeremiah looks to be in a world hurt! Ford retreats and reveals a small cut over his right eye. McLeod looks to be in phenomenal shape as he bounces around on his toes and keeping moving around to keep Ford off track. The two step back in and Edan throws a monster looping right hand and lands right on the button! Ford’s eye is quickly starting to swell.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Edan McLeod is not messing around, firing on all cylinders right out of the gate here!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

This guy has shown that he not only displays a high volume of very accurate strikes, but they do so much damage as well! Ford needs to protect himself better or this one will be an early night for Edan.

[McLeod and Ford step back in and “The Natural” throws another punishing strike that makes the entire arena gasp! The Bullfrog stumbles back and his corner is screaming! Edan McLeod is coming in again! Ford and McLeod engage in a wild exchange of punches but both are hitting air. Jeremiah tries to bait McLeod in by faking a punch then shoots in for a takedown! McLeod sprawls back and stays on his feet! Both fighters circle around the center of the cage and the crowd is on fire right now.]

[Edan McLeod closes in and tries to show off his boxing skills with a one-two combo and those punches are landing clean. Ford tries to retaliate and throws a hook to the body, but Edan steps aside to avoid the impact. As Edan plants his foot, he drives a hard straight right and catches Ford off guard. Jeremiah tries to cover up as Edan fakes a punch and gets rocked with another brutal right hand!]

[Jeremiah backpedals and tries to regroup, but Edan keeps the pressure as he connects with a furious hook! Jeremiah loses his balance as he gets stunned and falls to the mat! Jeremiah still shows signs of consciousness as he keeps his legs up for defense. McLeod circles around and launches a kick to Ford’s thigh that connects and echoes through the building. Jeremiah tries to stand up but Edan keeps the pressure on him and keeps him at bay. McLeod launches another kick that pummels Jeremiah’s thigh again. Edan winds back and launches another one! Jeremiah tries to get off the ground but Edan is not having it!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Edan McLeod is having his way with Jeremiah right now! He’s not allowing any sort of opening for Ford and right now Ford is a sitting duck just taking every strike thrown by McLeod!

[After a while, Edan finally decides to allow Jeremiah to stand back up, and he cautiously does. As Jeremiah gets his positioning, he throws a hook to the body but Edan evades it with ease. The Natural counters with a fast one-two combo and then finishes off with a big hook! Jeremiah parries the jabs but doesn’t see the hook and he gets starched and falls back down to the mat!]

[McLeod launches a kick to The Bullfrog's thigh and connects with a loud pop! McLeod decides not to play this cat and mouse game again and creates some space to allow Jeremiah back up on his feet. Jeremiah slowly gets back up and looks to be in a complete daze right now. Both fighters step into each other and begin exchanging wildly, with Edan getting the upper hand. Edan continues his damaging flurry of strikes and then again finishes off with a monster hook and Jeremiah drops like a ragdoll and his eyes roll in the back of his head! The referee jumps in to save Ford from any further damage and this fight is over!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Wow! The Natural ends this one in the opening frame with another fast and furious combination and Jeremiah had no answer to it.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

As we said before the fight, McLeod is so dangerous with those high volume strikes. His speed is something to see in real time. He looks like a blur out there! Incredible performance to keep the streak alive with 3 wins in a row now!

[The crowd bursts into cheers as McLeod celebrates his victory with his corner crew. Doctors tend to Ford for a few moments before helping him back up to his feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet back in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Herschel Warden has called for a stop in this fight at 4 minutes 21 seconds of the very first round for your winner by technical knockout, “The Natural” Edan McLeod!

[The crowd cheers as Edan has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each other’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

With another victory under his belt, Edan McLeod has to believe that his name is soon to be called upon for a Middleweight Title shot.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

That entire division is loaded with fast competitors who have tremendous striking power. I think McLeod at the very least deserves to be in the title contender conversation after finishing another fight in brilliant fashion! He’s no doubt put the division on notice and with good reason.

UGP5_ITC_Carrick-Price.png

IN THE CROWD

[After the brutal finish to the McLeod vs Ford fight,  the cameras pan throughout the crowd once again. This time, a cameraman catches former CGFC competitor Carrick Price in the crowd!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And look who’s in the building tonight! Former CGFC fighter Carrick Price here in Chicago, presumably supporting Kaelan Laughlin, which the two happen to be siblings.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Man, could you imagine Carrick coming on board to Union Grand Prix? I mean fellow former CGFC competitor Aries Reed has made the jump since their 'indefinite hiatus', what could be the odds of this being a foresight of things to come?

TOUSSAINT HARPER

I think you’re digging too deep into some fantasy booking there, Willy. The last I heard Carrick retired from competition. And even if he were to make a comeback, wouldn’t you think he’d join his gym owner James Shark’s promotion? C’mon man! In any case, it’s great to see the Irish Ironman here tonight!

UGP5_Laughlin-vs-VanZant.png

FIRST THINGS FIRST

I’MA SAY ALL THE WORDS INSIDE MY HEAD

I’M FIRED UP AND TIRED OF THE WAY THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN, OH OOH

THE WAY THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN, OH OOH

[“Believer” by Imagine Dragons blasts over the loudspeaker and Gina VanZant emerges to the stage wearing her pink and white walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. She has a focused look on her face as she slowly walks down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up by the fight official. Once she’s cleared, she races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying put in her corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

One thing you can say about the debuting Gina VanZant, she wants to fight! Once news broke that Annie Zellor was pulled from this fight, she immediately stepped up and offered to fill in on just ten days notice! That right there shows she wants to make a splash in this ever growing division, and what better way to do it than to try and take down one of the biggest names in this company?

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

VanZant has been training diligently for this moment. Although she’s coming in to this fight with just over a week of preparation, her coaches from her camp have been emphatic about her striking capabilities. Not only can she go toe-to-toe, but her cardio is through the roof and can easily go the distance.

WARRIOR!

["Warrior" by Dead By April shreds over the loudspeaker and Kaelan Laughlin emerges to the stage wearing her Irish Flag colored walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind. Laughlin burrows her head down while slowly walking down the aisle. She makes it to cageside where she is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, she climbs up the steps and calmly takes her place in her corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

As I mentioned, Kaelan Laughlin is one of the biggest names in the company even though she’s has just two fights under her belt. She’s an accomplished professional wrestler and as she makes this move into the world of mixed martial arts, she has shown big improvements.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Her debut fight earned Fight of the Night honors, even though she fell just short of scoring the victory. Her follow up fight against Xabier Belazco went four brutal rounds in the main event of the very first Boss Fight event before she secured the win. Now she comes in tonight in a difficult situation. She had been preparing to fight a submission artist like herself, and then ten days before the fight she has to prepare for a striker. But Kaelan excels in adverse situations, so I don’t think she’s at any disadvantage.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following bout is scheduled for three rounds in the UGP Lightweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer with a Union GP record of 0-0. She stands at 5’8” and weighing in at 125 pounds. She is from Los Angeles, California, she is “The California Doll” Gina VanZant!

[Gina VanZant looks calm but knows she has a tough fight coming up. She steps out from the corner and raises a fist in the air before going back to bouncing in place.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a wrestler and disciplined Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Grappler with a record of 1-1. She stands at 5’6” and weighing in at 136 pounds. She is from Belfast, Northern Ireland, fighting out of Slaughterhouse Vegas, she is Kaelan Laughlin!

[Kaelan Laughlin looks very relaxed as she steps out from the corner and raises a fist in the air before going back to bouncing in place.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

A lot of speculations have come with this fight. Being rescheduled on just ten days notice, neither fighter got a full camp to train against their opposition standing across from them right now. With that said, 54% of the fans that took our social media poll believe that the newcomer Gina VanZant scores the win tonight!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Pretty surprising results if you ask me. Not to discredit Gina, but Kaelan is one of the biggest fan favorites Union GP has to offer and with good reason. And although this was a short notice change, Laughlin was still able to get a full camp in while Gina had just a little over a week. But now, it’s time to find out if these fans were right! The referee of this main event bout is Roy Rivers. He’s checking off with each fighter one last time and calls for the bell! And here we go!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighters quickly close the distance. VanZant reaches out to touch gloves but Laughlin ignores the gesture. Gina shrugs it off and looks to have been fueled by the snub. Gina launches a booming high kick but Laughlin narrowly ducks! Gina follows it up with an overhand right and connects! Laughlin's stops that one with his face! How is she still standing?! VanZant launches a furious low kick and catches Laughlin’s left leg. Kaelan shows no sign of anguish as she suddenly changes levels and tries to catch VanZant with a rolling kneebar! Gina nearly gets caught but manages to kick her leg out in the nick of time and Laughlin remains on the ground.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Kaelan tried going for a little trickery there with a rolling kneebar and almost caught VanZant off guard!

[VanZant is standing while Laughlin is on the ground on her back. VanZant launches a kick to Laughlin's thigh that connects with a loud smack! Kaelan doesn’t want to continue to fight in this position and quickly springs back up to her feet and the crowd cheers her on. VanZant fakes a move and launches a liver kick! It barely connects and almost wrenches Kaelan Laughlin but she somehow manages to stay on her feet. Laughlin's mind is definitely in the fight, VanZant just got nailed! Laughlin saw an opening and delivered a big right hand!]

[Laughlin looks for angles as she throws a few jabs that are countered by VanZant's punches. Both fighters are wildly hitting air! Gina throws a looping right hand but Laughlin moves aside and dodges and Kaelan looks to counter! Laughlin fakes a punch and shoots a takedown! VanZant didn't see it coming and has been put on the ground!]

[Kaelan Laughlin is in open guard and VanZant works on the ground with her fingers over Laughlin's face. Laughlin shakes her head and continues to fight. VanZant closes her guard around Laughlin then begins dropping bombs to Laughlin’s rib cage! VanZant sees an opening and tries to roll but Kaelan uses her leg to keep her position. Kaelan is in closed guard over VanZant while VanZant tries to work on the ground with her hands over Laughlin’s face. Kaelan shakes her head to avoid any “accidental” eye poke and continues to keep the pressure on Gina. The California Doll launches a few punches to Kaelan’s cheek and Kaelan covers up to avoid any big impact strikes.]

[VanZant tries to move on the ground and shows Laughlin a crack in her guard which she uses for a big elbow! Bang! VanZant's head gets rocked and ricochets against the mat! Roy Rivers hunkers down knowing he may be calling off the fight soon! Laughlin use some of her wrestling skills to escape from the closed guard! After a few tentative moves, she jumps to side mount! The crowd in the Wintrust Arena is cheering her on! Kaelan Laughlin is in side mount and she doesn't like the idea of just stalling on the ground, so she stays aggressive and winds back to unload a flurry of punches on VanZant!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

VanZant needs to do something soon or the referee will stop the fight!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

She’s in a bad spot here! Defend or escape!

[Kaelan Laughlin isolates Gina VanZant's left arm looking for an armbar but VanZant manages to sit up and pull her arm out of danger! Kaelan now has lost her dominant position. Laughlin tries to keep the offense going and throws her legs up in a triangle attempt! That Triangle Armbar from Kaelan appears to be unbreakable! Gina VanZant lifts her opponent from the ground, displaying great power, and down she goes! Kaelan Laughlin doesn't break the lock and Gina VanZant is running out of time! Kaelan launches a hard blow to VanZant's mid-section, and she seems hurt! Laughlin is repositioning that Triangle Armbar. Gina VanZant lifts her opponent from the ground again and slams her to the mat! Kaelan loses the lock after that incredible slam and Gina is now in open guard over Laughlin.]

[VanZant doesn't want to continue the fight in this position and tries to get back on her feet, but cannot because of Laughlin's tight grip. VanZant positions herself for a round of ground and pound and tries to finish the fight with some precise elbows! Laughlin's attempts to cover herself and blocks those elbows. You can hear the excitement from the crowd. Laughlin sees an opening and reaches under and rolls for a kneebar! That Kneebar from Kaelan Laughlin appears to be unbreakable! Kaelan Laughlin gets her hips extended and VanZant is grimacing in pain. Gina VanZant can take the pain no longer and taps!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And it’s all over! Kaelan Laughlin scores the submission victory with less than a minute left in the opening round!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

What a comeback! Laughlin showed some excellent patience on the bottom and once she saw an opening, she seized the moment and never turned back! Big win for the Irish Fighter!

[The crowd bursts into cheers as Laughlin celebrates her victory with her corner crew. Doctors tend to VanZant for a few moments before helping her back up to her feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet back in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Roy Rivers has called for a stop in this fight at 4 minutes 31 seconds of the very first round for your winner by submission, Kaelan Laughlin!

[The crowd cheers as Laughlin has her hand raised in victory. Both fighters embrace with a handshake and say a few words to each other before splitting off to each other’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Big win for Kaelan Laughlin tonight after all of the hoopla leading up to it. This Irish Lass has improved leaps and bounds with each fight in all aspects of the game, and takes another victory by submission.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Have to give respect to Gina VanZant though as well. Both took this fight on short notice, but Kaelan was able to still get a full camp in for SOME fight for tonight. For Gina to take this with just over a week to train against a high caliber competitor like Laughlin shows her drive and spirit. Obviously not the debut she was looking for but she can learn from this.

REVENGE!

I’M SCREAMING REVENGE AGAIN

WRONG!

I’VE BEEN WRONG FOR FAR TOO LONG

[“Mouth for War” by Pantera blares over the loudspeaker and Hailey McIntyre emerges to the stage wearing her black and gray walkout fight kit with crew members from her camp following behind.

Coming to the octagon now is a merciless fighter who has had quite a journey to get to this point. From her shocking first round elimination to her most recent controversial win, Hailey has been one of the most talked about fighters in this company.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

There’s always going to be those controversies that live on in infamy and those stunning flash finishes, but Hailey has survived the storm and has a chance to silence any doubters. Her skill set is impressive alone as a submission artist. But her size is sometimes overlooked in this division as she is one of the few who fight right at the limit. She definitely has the abilities to shock the world tonight!

ARE YOU READY

ARE YOU READY

ARE YOU READY

ARE YOU READY

LET’S GO!

[As “One for the Money” by Escape the Fate plays throughout the arena, Jordan Parker-Kane slowly makes his way out while bouncing to keep warm in his blue and silver walkout fight kit and the Union GP Lightweight Championship around his waist. Just behind him, security guards and his corner crew follow his lead towards the octagon. JPK doesn’t show much emotion as he makes it to cageside and gets checked by the official. Once cleared, he marches up the steps and heads straight to his corner, bobbing and weaving along the way. Herschel Warden makes his way over and takes the title off of JPK and holds it up to a thunderous roar from the crowd.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And here he is, the champ makes his way to the cage and he looks as focused as ever. JPK has been the underdog in every UGP fight he’s been in, and every time he produces stunning results.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

And to think this kid isn’t even legal to drink yet! He’s accomplished so much in so little time, and he has such a bright future ahead of him. His ground game has proven to be unmatched thus far and he’s executed and capitalized on those strengths. Tonight he goes up against an opponent who will test his ground game like no one has before.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Headline Fight of the Night! The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it’s for the Union Grand Prix Lightweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, fighting out of the blue corner, a Wrestler disciplined in Krav Maga and Kenpo Karate with a Union GP record of 2-1. She stands at 5’8” and weighing in at 155 pounds. She is from Seattle, Washington, fighting out of RAW Graps Gym, she is “The Rising Phoenix” Hailey McIntyre!

[Hailey is beating herself up in the corner before the fight begins, smacking herself in the face, body and legs to get ready for his scrap. She looks ready for war.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Muay Thai Kickboxer disciplined in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a Union GP record of 3-0. He stands 5’7” and weighing in at 155 pounds. From Houston, Texas, fighting out of Slaughterhouse Houston, he is the reigning, defending, undefeated, undisputed Union Grand Prix Lightweight Champion of the World, “Spidey” Jordan Parker-Kane!

[JPK steps out from his corner and raises both arms in the air as the crowd cheers him on. He looks calm in his corner and confident in his abilities.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Happy you mentioned how JPK has been the underdog in every fight he’s had here, well tonight is no different! Surprisingly, 59% of the fans that took our social media poll believes that Hailey McIntyre gets topples the champ!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Just more fuel to the fire for JPK if you ask me. But it’s time to lay those predictions to bed as we’re set to settle it right now! Our referee for this contest is Herschel Warden. He checks off with each fighter one last time and calls for the bell! This championship fight is underway!

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The opening bell sounds to kick off the fight. Both fighters move to the center of the cage and touch gloves to show a sign of respect. Jordan Parker-Kane steps in and goes with a looping right hand while Hailey McIntyre jumps back and jabs. McIntyre seems staggered and Parker-Kane runs to capitalize with a bunch of jabs and crosses. JPK grabs his opponent by the waist and takes the fight to the ground.]

[Parker-Kane is in open guard and starts to move on the ground and gets to side mount. McIntyre tries to show some ground skills but JPK uses his strength to keep her at a disadvantage. Hailey gets sloppy and Jordan tries to take advantage with some weak punches. They're bothering McIntyre even though they aren't hurting her. Nice moves from Parker-Kane who positions himself by using his knees on McIntyre! One, two! McIntyre grimaces in pain!]

[Jordan Parker-Kane tries a kimura but McIntyre quickly breaks the lock. Parker-Kane looks to mount McIntyre. Hailey sees an opening and locks her opponent in half guard. Parker-Kane work to isolate McIntyre's left arm looking for an armbar but Hailey manages to sit up and pull her arm out of danger! Parker-Kane lost his dominant position. JPK gets sloppy and Hailey tries to take advantage. She launches a few punches to JPK's cheek from the guard. Those punches sure are annoying because JPK tries to cover his face.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

As expected, this fight quickly went to the ground where both fighters excel at. JPK got the early edge but Hailey now looks to take control.

[Jordan Parker-Kane goes for a keylock but McIntyre breaks free. Jordan positions himself and starts laying in some more knees to Hailey’s ribs! McIntyre is moving on the ground and BOOM! That was a headbutt! Did she do that intentionally? Herschel Warden saw it! Warden takes away one point from McIntyre for headbutt.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

The officials tonight aren’t messing around with the headbutts! McIntyre just got docked a point for it! Like Lee earlier, this May come back to haunt her!

[Warden halts the fight to give JPK time to recover. After a few moments he seems to be ready to fight again. The fight resumes with both fighters standing.]

[JPK decides to launch some tentative punches and Hailey takes the best of a brief punching exchange. JPK jumps over his opponent and tries to grapple. Parker-Kane pushes his opponent against the fence in a plum position! JPK is launching some bone breaking punches to McIntyre's ribs while in the clinch. Wow. You can see the pain in McIntyre's eyes. Hailey tries to shrug her way out of the clinch but JPK is determined to stay in the clinch.]

[Parker-Kane postures up and launches another series of punches! A majority of them are hitting McIntyre hard, who may be wondering how to escape from this! JPK catches Hailey off guard with an inside leg sweep and takes her down hard to the mat! Parker-Kane is in closed guard over McIntyre and looks to be cooling the fight down for a bit.]

[Parker-Kane tries to better his position on the ground. He breaks the closed guard of McIntyre and quickly moves to half guard. JPK doesn’t get much going from there so he slides his knee across and gets to full mount. McIntyre tries to escape from the full mount but Parker-Kane moves to side mount to keep his superior position.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Jordan has been adamant in his submissions but Hailey hasn’t given him anything. She’s definitely giving him fits right now and it’s a wonder how long he can keep this up.

[Parker-Kane goes for another kimura but McIntyre breaks the lock then tries to turn in and scramble out. Parker-Kane timed her perfectly and locks up a guillotine! McIntyre struggles and slips her head out and manages to gain top control. McIntyre is trying to counter now! She launches a few punches to JPK's cheek from the guard. Jordan Parker-Kane uses his head to cover the punches and presses his head forward.]

[With a little over a minute left in the round, Jordan looks to mount Hailey McIntyre… Hailey sees an opening and locks her opponent in half guard. TOUSSAINT HARPER

A stellar technical clinic between these two fighters in the opening round! This one is hard to make a call, but I’d say Jordan gets the slight edge.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He definitely tried to work in more offense than Hailey, but she denied him in all aspects. I don’t think Jordan has faced an opponent with the same skill levels on the ground. I can’t wait to see what unfolds here in the second!

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[The second round begins and both fighters circle around the center of the cage. Jordan goes with a looping right hand while Hailey jumps back and jabs. That one hits but McIntyre seems unaffected, countering with a few punches of her own. Great exchange here.]

Hailey follows up with a pulverizing punch but again JPK slips away from the strike and he looks to counter now! Jordan fakes a punch and catches Hailey in a troublesome thai clinch.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Surprised to see some stand up from these fighters but they’re showing some great poise!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Sometimes you gotta take what your opponent is giving you. Hailey and Jordan look pretty evenly matched on the ground so I think they’re trying to see who’s superior on the feet.

[Both fighters are tied in a clinch. Jordan fakes a punch and trips Hailey but she manages to pull him in her guard in the way down. On the ground, McIntyre tries to roll but Jordan uses his leg to keep his position. JPK works to escape the closed guard and after a struggle he gets free and takes a moment to catch his breath. From here, Jordan works his way over into half guard.]

JPK picks his moment and swiftly rolls to reverse into the full mount over Hailey!]

[Jordan sits high on McIntyre's chest and pulls his leg underneath McIntyre's head. There's the triangle attempt! Punishing hold! JPK is locking that Triangle! You can see the pain reflected in McIntyre's eyes… That Triangle from Parker-Kane appears to be unbreakable! McIntyre fights with everything she has and tries to roll out manages to slip free! That was a risky move by JPK and it cost him top position.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

It looked like JPK has McIntyre dead to rights but she willed herself to escape and now Jordan is in a tough spot!

[Hailey is in closed guard and JPK is taking this opportunity to rest. Soon he overhooks an arm and starts cranking! McIntyre pulls her arm out of danger. [JPK tries to slow the pace down and is taking this opportunity to rest. Hailey attempts to trap Jordan Parker-Kane in her guard but Jordan keeps control and remains in side mount. TOUSSAINT HARPER

Unbelievable! What a finish! Jordan Parker-Kane patiently waited for the right moment and caught McIntyre in a rear naked choke for the win!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

JPK had that thing locked in deep and Hailey had nowhere to go! Remarkable title defense for the young man!

[The crowd cheers as JPK has his hand raised in victory and the title strapped around his waist. TOUSSAINT HARPER

Jordan Parker-Kane makes his first Lightweight Title defense a successful one! This fight looks like it could have gone either way, but Jordan kept his composure during some tough situations and resulted in a substantial pay off!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Got to give all the credit and respects to Hailey McIntyre. She took it to the champ and looked like she was ready to turn the tides fully in her favor. I don’t think we’ve seen JPK struggle like this up to this point in his Union GP tenure, but unfortunately things like this happen and hopefully she can take this as a lesson and build upon it.

IN THE CROWD

[Immediately following the highly anticipated Lightweight Championship fight between Hailey McIntyre and Jordan Parker-Kane, the feed cut to a section of the audience which hosted an eccentric visitor.]

[Dressed in a bright pink “I <3 Fujiko Mine” hooded sweatshirt, Zari Aliyah, one of the newest members of the Lightweight division, sat comfortably in the crowd with a wide grin on her face. As Aliyah observed Jordan Parker-Kane having the Lightweight Championship belt being wrapped around his waist, she tugged at one of her dreadlocks. She stared at the champion intently.]

[A cold expression swooped over Aliyah’s face...]

[The younger member of the legendary LeCavalier wrestling family leaned over to a much larger man to whisper some things. Shortly after, Zari turned her head to look towards the camera mouthing off the words “it’ll be mine soon. BET on that shit.”]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And it looks like we have another Union GP fighter in the house tonight! One of the newest members to the growing Lightweight Division and the world renowned Real Killas MMA camp, “Zealous” Zari Aliyah! You think she’s doing a little scouting here tonight?

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I mean I’m sure she came here tonight to see arguably one of the hottest combat sports promotions running right now. But there’s no doubt she’s keeping a close eye on her competition tonight. We’ve had three Lightweight fights tonight, so it’s be smart to see their styles live. Gotta love her dedication to fly out here and see firsthand when she makes her debut at Boss Fight IV.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

No doubt a smart move to check your competitors any chance you get. Especially with a division as stacked and with as much depth as the 155 class! And now folks, let’s get ready to switch gears and focus on our next fight, the main event of the evening. It’s Diao versus La’Bell for the trilogy!

[The cameras stay focused on Zari for just a few seconds longer before switching over to the octagon with Mike Dempsey standing in the cage.]

HOLD UP, SON, WORD

YEAH, TO ALL THE KILLERS AND A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLAS

FOR REAL NIGGAS WHO AIN’T GOT NO FEELINGS

CHECK IT OUT NOW

[“Shook Ones Part II” by Mobb Deep plays throughout the arena. “Long Island Strong” Derrick La’Bell slowly makes his way out while bouncing to keep warm in his black and white walkout fight kit. Just behind him, guards and his corner follow his lead towards the octagon. La’Bell doesn’t show much emotion as he makes it to cageside and gets checked by the bout official. Once cleared, he stomps up the steps and heads straight to his corner, shadow boxing along the way.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Throughout the Heavyweight Round Robin, Derrick La’Bell proved to be a dominant force within the division. Sweeping his competition and heading into the Championship match at 3-0, where he would face-off against the man he debuted against, Ferdinand Diao. Everyone expected a repeat finish, but Diao shocked the world and took down the New York native. Now it’s payback time in the eyes of La’Bell.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Heavily favored in that title fight, La’Bell’s world came crashing down. He hasn’t forgotten that night or that feeling of defeat. Coming so close to becoming the inaugural Heavyweight Champion only to get starched in the first round, that has been the driving force for his chance at redemption.

["Kick in the Door" by Notorious B.I.G. thumps over the loudspeaker and “The Lion” Ferdinand Diao emerges to the stage wearing his gold and white walkout fight kit and the Union GP Heavyweight Championship strapped around his waist with crew members from his camp following behind. Diao burrows his head down while slowly creeping down the aisle. He makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he climbs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Ferdinand Diao did not start off on a good note in his Union GP career, and it’s all because of his opponent here tonight. But since then, he has gone 3-0 en route to a Heavyweight Championship reign. The quiet, humble fighter doesn’t attract a lot of attention to himself when his comes to press conferences or any general media events. But his actions inside the octagon cannot be ignored.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He displays that terrifying knockout power, but he also has an uncharacteristic level of athleticism that you don’t often see at this weight class. Tonight he has a chance to carve his name in the history books one more time!

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Main Event of the evening! The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it’s for the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger fighting out of the blue corner, a Wrestler disciplined in Boxing and Kickboxing with a Union GP record of 3-1. He stands 6’ even and weighing in at 265 pounds. From Uniondale, Long Island, New York, fighting out of Slaughterhouse New York, he is “Long Island Strong” Derrick La’Bell!

[La’Bell steps out from his corner and raises both arms in the air as the crowd cheers him on.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Wrestler and Striker with a Union GP record of 3-1. He stands at 6’3” and weighing in at 262 pounds. He is from Dakar, Senegal fighting out of Team Brutal, he is the reigning, defending, undisputed Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion of the World, “The Lion” Ferdinand Diao!

[Diao steps out from the corner and raises a fist in the air before going back to bouncing in place and shoots a furious glare at his opponent from the opposite corner.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

This it! The trilogy between two of the heaviest hitters in the land of the giants! Both men hold a win over the other and it’s time to settle it once and for all! 61% of the fans that took our social media poll believes that The Beast La’Bell wins tonight and takes home the title!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

You could argue for either man tonight. They possess so much similarities in terms of striking power on their feet and on the ground. It’s the best of three finale between the two and it’s just moments away! The referee for this bout is Dusty Whittaker. He checks off with each man one last time and then calls for the bell! And this fight is underway!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Ferdinand Diao is looking dominant in this opening round, taking La’Bell to the mat and now taking his back!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Derrick better be careful and not give up an opening for a submission here. I don’t think Diao would let go!

[Diao is in rear mount over La'Bell and La’Bell tries to stymie Diao with some back elbows to the ribs. La'Bell has Diao controlling his back while on the ground. He tries to roll and find an escape. Derrick La'Bell turns out the lights for Diao! What an astonishing KO by La'Bell! The ref jumps in to call it off!]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Turn out the lights! The part’s over! We have a new Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion! What a spectacular finish!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Ferdinand Diao looked to be in steady control all throughout this fight, but one quick reversal and La’Bell never looked back! Oh my god, what an amazing finish to this trilogy!

[The crowd is roaring with excitement as La’Bell celebrates his victory. Doctors tend to Diao for a moment before helping him back up to his feet. After doctors and cutmen finish their work, the two fighters meet in the middle of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

The stat sheet doesn’t do this fight justice. Diao was looking dominant, landing bigger impact strikes and controlling the fight while on the ground. La’Bell seized the opening for that quick reversal, and BOOM! New Champion!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

An incredible finish to this trilogy between two heavy hitters. Big congratulations to Derrick La’Bell who avenges his lone defeat and in turn captures the Heavyweight Title!
