During the early hours of February 27th, 2019, top ten ranked Union Grand Prix Lightweight, Zari Aliyah, conducted a trip to the city of Flint, Michigan. In the weeks leading up to the trip, Aliyah had made arrangements with her team, Real Killas MMA, to formulate a method to circulate both cash as well as fresh water into the city that has battled the detrimental effects of lead poisoning. After much discussion, Aliyah ultimately opted to donate a lump sum of one hundred thousand United States dollars towards the goal of ensuring that families within the majority African-American community had access to clean bottled water, filters, and a multitude of other basic necessities.
Additionally, former Cruiserweight Champion, Daniel Fisk, has stated that the Real Killas team is extremely proud of Zari Aliyah’s efforts to combat strife that plagues the entire African diaspora. For that, the Real Killas MMA team has matched Aliyah’s hefty donation towards the Flint Water Crisis.
