[After the floor is given for the fighters to speak, one of the reporters in the press calls for the attention of “The Primarch” Robert Guilliman, of REAL Killas MMA. Guilliman, as always, is impeccably dressed, this time in a black suit with an unassuming, matching black tie.]
CANDACE LIAO | CAPELLAN MMA
Candace Liao with Capellan MMA, for Robert Guilliman.[The Primarch nods, waiting for the question.]“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
Fire away, Ms. Liao.
CANDACE LIAO | CAPELLAN MMANo one will deny that despite your loss, your last performance was a valiant one. But likewise, you must now be aware that Edan McLeod will be once again a formidable challenge.
[Imperturbable as always, Guilliman shuts his eyes and nods one more time, before opening them again.]“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
I would not be honest if I stated otherwise, that much is true.
[But his expression hardens at this point, even though he maintains the same polite voice.]
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
At the same time, however, it would also be dishonest to say I am still not happy with how the fight ended. And thus I have spent all this time in the Real KILLAS camp preparing for the time that I would face him again.
I will say though, I wasn’t expecting for this opportunity to come so soon. When I saw UGP #6, there were a lot of questions going through my mind - what if next time I face him, Edan McLeod is the Middleweight Champion? What if we never cross paths again? How much time is it going to take for this match to happen again?
And bear in mind, this is before any championship opportunity even crosses my mind. But my next thought was - that is all irrelevant. It’s beyond my control. The only thing it is in my power to do is to make certain that when such an encounter happened again, if it ever did, I would be ready.
[And this time, Guilliman shoots a direct, penetrating stare to the cameras in front.]
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
But here we are once again. And this time, I am ready.
CANDACE LIAO | CAPELLAN MMA
You’re feeling confident, then, Mr. Guilliman-
[Giving a small smile, the Primarch raises a hand]
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
Please, Robert will be fine.
CANDACE LIAO | CAPELLAN MMA
Robert then - are you confident that this fight will have a different ending?
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
I’m confident I’m coming to do something that Edan McLeod didn’t do the last time we met. Staggering punches and great footwork he does have for sure - but he didn’t, try as he might, put me down. And that’s what I’m coming here to do - I’m coming to finish this fight, and to put him down.
[Her questions answered, Ms. Liao sits down after thanking the Primarch, and at this point another journalist stands up.]
ADAM STEINER | FEDERATED MARTIAL ARTS
Adam Steiner, with Federated Martial Arts. Robert, you already know first hand that Edan McLeod’s biggest strength is his boxing skill. The statistics from your earlier fight show that he can land a lot of punches very quickly. Have you trained for a way to balance or counter this?
[Guilliman makes an almost imperceptible nod.]
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
McLeod’s main skill comes from hit and running - slowing the fight, ever changing the pace, not letting his opponent get an opportunity. That was his gameplan when we faced, and begrudgingly I must admit it was successful. But you’ve seen that the same thing did not work out against the champion - and that’s what I’ve set in my sights. It’s not about giving him any ground - it’s locking in…
[He snaps both palms together in a closing motion, as a trap.]
And bringing the hammer down. Swiftly, relentlessly, with not even the slightest chance to escape. When I said I want to finish this fight, that’s precisely what I meant - not giving him the slightest inch for him to gasp for air.
ADAM STEINER | FEDERATED MARTIAL ARTS
Well, let us hope that is successful then.
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
I intend it to be, Mr. Steiner.
ADAM STEINER | FEDERATED MARTIAL ARTS
And finally, there were talks about getting back in contention after this fight. Do you believe, should you win, that you’ll be next in line to take down Bonanno?
[Guilliman throws his hands, in an honest expression of indifference.]
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
For that question to be answered I first need to win this fight, is that not so? Because that is, that has been the only thing in my mind since December 9th. The morning after Boss Fight #4, I woke up thinking of Edan McLeod, and how he would get the Middleweight Championship fight. I concentrated in my rehab work, and when I next stepped back into the Real KILLAS camp, I did so with nothing else than Edan McLeod in sight.
And here at UGP #7, I got just the chance I’ve burned into my brain. Which means my only objective right now is just one thing, and one thing only.
[And after this, the Primarch points a finger to the reporters in front, his voice raised and clear for all to hear.]

Very well then, that will be all, Robert, thank you.
“THE PRIMARCH” ROBERT GUILLIMAN
Most welcome, Mr. Steiner.
[And with the round of questions finished, Guilliman takes a sip of his water, as the floor is given for other fighters to speak.]
