[The opening montage comes to a close and the feed transitions inside the Mexico City Arena. Rabid fans pack the building, where many have immersed themselves into the pandemonium and roar out with deafening cheers. With the uncertainty of victory or defeat looming, the aura is both intoxicating and tense.]

[The main stage, where the fighters scheduled tonight dawn their presence, is littered with carnage and destruction. A heavy fog sits stale, scaffolding strung in multiple directions, and the overall structure glowing red with fire, ash, and embers; something no fighter will soon forget.]

[The toll on both fan and fighter is enormous. The stage of a bloody war is set. The conquerors envision nothing but execution towards success, while the meek is flooded with doubt.]

[Down in the trenches, the one and only Toussaint Harper stands cageside in attention and he is flanked by Jason Jackson and Carrick Price to officially kick off the night.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the Mexico City Arena for UGP 19! Toussaint Harper here and standing on either side of me, two studs of the MMA world, Jason Jackson and Carrick Price. We’ve got another exciting night of fights in store for you all with a headlining Heavyweight Championship Main Event! But before we talk about the battle of the behemoths, let’s break down the under card tonight. Jason, our opening bout features two Bantamweights who are both on the final fight of their current contracts and are desperately looking for a win tonight to get themselves back to .500 in the Win/Loss column.

JASON JACKSON

That’s right, Harpy. Real Killas Julia Tran takes on co-owner of Lion’s Den FC Las Vegas, Megan Reed in what could be considered a must win for both. Both of these women have had a similar, rocky start in their Union Grand Prix career, but being in the budding Bantamweight division, they are still on the verge of pushing themselves into title contention. They both might be a couple of wins away from those talks, but a step in the right direction begins here tonight with a good, DECISIVE win.

CARRICK PRICE

You know J, the thing I look at in this fight is the clash of styles and trying to figure out who will be able to utilize their discipline and strategy the best. Julia Tran is a great grappler, someone who can control the tempo with the clinch and set up her takedowns in order to bring the fight to the ground, where she is most comfortable. However, being the smallest fighter in Union GP at just over a hundred pounds, it can be a struggle for her. Megan Reed is someone who likes to keep the fight standing and tee off on her opponents with striking, so I think she's gonna try to keep separation, work behind the jab, and force Tran to play her game.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

After that, we have a Lightweight bout scheduled between two top five fighters as we see the return of Xabier Belazco taking on Tatum Momo’a. We last saw Belazco inside a Union cage scoring a unanimous decision victory over Lea Sun in October for Boss Fight XIV. Since then, he's taken some time off to be a new father, but he's got the itch again to compete after re-signing a new contract and is ready to continue the climb. Tatum Momo’a is coming off a draw decision with Bellamy DeSilva at Boss Fight XVI after taking some time off to negotiate a new contract for herself, so you know she’s hungry for a win tonight.

CARRICK PRICE

Anyone who steps inside that octagon is hungry for a win, whether they're a green as grass rookie or a grizzled seasoned vet, but Momo’a was on the cusp of breaking into that next level of competition not too long ago. She started off 3-1 in Union GP, winning three straight before falling to former Lightweight Champion Natalie King and former Bantamweight Champion Zari Aliyah back-to-back. After those two crushing losses, she bounces back with a great performance that ended in a draw. Tatum has a chance tonight to showcase herself and put herself back in the discussion of title contention, but she's gotta get past The Black Knight in order to do so.

JASON JACKSON

It's a big task for her, no doubt, Belazco is no slouch out there. He's got some great boxing skills and likes to keep things tight and is not afraid to take the fight to the ground. Tatum is going to need to manage her emotions out there, as she is known to wear her heart on her sleeve and can make mistakes and put herself in a bad position while on the flip side, Belazco has got ice in his veins and is known as the ”Zen Master”, so I would be be surprised to possibly see some mind games being played out there. Nothing can throw someone off their game more than renting space in their head.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

From there we move onto our first Heavyweight bout on the main card where Ferdinand Diao takes on the fast rising LA Brooks. Diao has basically been stuck in limbo while the Heavyweight Title scene was occupied by the likes of Derrick La’Bell, Donnie Calabrese, and Kennard Rozier. In his last fight, Diao easily handled Zach Bennett with a first round knockout. You have to imagine he's looking at the possibility of getting another crack at either Rozier or La’Bell if he can get past Brooks tonight. Thing is getting past Brooks is a helluva task.

JASON JACKSON

Diao and La’Bell have faced each other three times already in the past, with Diao going 1-2 overall but they are also 1-1 in title fights. It would have to take an utterly dominating performance for Diao to convince President Dante Reed to schedule a fourth bout against La’Bell, should he win tonight. However, he's only faced Rozier once and that was in the 2019 Championship Grand Prix this past summer, and I think fans would be clamoring to see those two run it back.

CARRICK PRICE

All of those scenarios are all based on Diao winning, but you can not discount what LA Brooks brings to the table. This mountain of a man has some serious and scary knockout power in both his hands and legs and will keep his opponents honest. Yeah he's still relatively new to the sport, but nobody should ignore how dangerous he can be. What happens if Brooks scores the win tonight? Are we gonna put him in the same discussions as we are about Ferdinand Diao? If he goes 3-0, is he next in line for a title shot? I think there are a few other heavyweights that would argue their case, but those decisions are left for the higher-ups. All I can confidently say is that we're gonna see some sparks fly in this fight.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

All it takes is one clean hit and you know the Heavyweights are quick to kill! Now we move onto the Co-Main Event that pits two elite Middleweight fighters who are ready to go to war. Zion Momo’a takes on former Middleweight Champion Asher Jrue in a bout that has a lot of people talking like this could very well be a number one contender to square off against current 185 pound champion, Robert Guilliman once again.

JASON JACKSON

Momo’a faced The Primarch once during the 2019 Grand Prix and like everyone before and after him in the tournament, he gave a valiant effort by eating a few of those lethal signature head kicks but ultimately he came up short after absorbing massive damage from the champ. Jrue has stepped up twice with Guilly, shocking the world in their first encounter by sending Guilliman through the wringer and brutalizing him for four rounds before finishing him off with a knockout haymaker. The second time was an immediate rematch where we saw Jrue getting familiar with The Primarch’s foot in the first round just like Momo’a had, before being put to sleep. I know neither of these guys are looking that far ahead, though, because these guys know each other’s capabilities and know that they have to be on their A-game to tilt this contest in their favor.

CARRICK PRICE

Momo’a and Jrue have that golden common opponent that they ultimately want to face again, but let's talk about the fact that this is the first time these two meet inside the cage and how this has all of the potential to be the Fight of the Night. Two high motor competitors who can go into deep waters with incredible warrior mentality and not slow down, both guys have incredible striking, and both have gone 4-2 in competing in Union GP. The biggest X factor I see in this bout is the ground game. If this fight goes to the mat, I think we could see Asher take over with his submissions and positioning and really put Zion in dangerous spots. Momo’a is gonna want to keep this fight standing, which I don't think Asher will mind either. Should be an incredible fight.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

No lies detected, but now we finally move on to the Main Event of the evening — the undefeated Heavyweight Champion Kennard Rozier puts his title on the line and look to set a new title defense record for the 265 pound division as he takes on the former two-time Champ Derrick La’Bell. Easily one of the biggest fights in Heavyweight division history. This is a historic bout that will be setting records one way or the other. Rozier has his chance to put his name in the record books, and so does La’Bell. The Beast has a chance to become the first three-time Union GP Champion and do what no other competitor has done before.

JASON JACKSON

Listen man, my boy Derrick is no stranger to big time title fights. He's done it more than any other Heavyweight so you know those lights won't be too bright for him. The big question is how well Kennard Rozier will be about to handle all the hype, all the promotion, and all the pressure that has been built for this fight. I gotta say though, Rozier has taken down two former champions in half of his six wins, so I'd have to say this guy not only stays cool under pressure, but he thrives in it and he has more than a fair shot at us hearing “and still” when the smoke clears.

CARRICK PRICE

No doubt about it, J. Rozier really burst on the scene throughout the 2019 Championship Grand Prix tournament — taking down the likes of former champions Ferdinand Diao once and Donnie Calabrese twice en route to winning the championship. Pluggz has already been talking about future opponents like calling out former Champion Brock Quarry to return to the octagon. Clearly the guy wants to clean out the division and he’s starting with the biggest, baddest men we’ve come to see. If he can do it again tonight and take down the final fighter currently under contract to hold the Heavyweight Crown, you have to start talking about GOAT status when it comes to the 265 pound division.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Brash and unapologetic but there's no better way to prove you’re the GOAT than by beating everyone who held the title before you. We’ve got all of that coming to you live on the Battleground Network, so let’s turn our attention to the octagon where the action begins! It’s bout time, ladies and gentlemen!

CARRICK PRICE

Hold up, Harpy. I got a bone to pick before we go. I noticed a distinct lack of Scrapyard fighters on the main card of this show. The fuck, Dante? Don’t make me talk the lads into bending you over their knee during the next round of contract negotiations. Swear to God I’ll make sure every potato you ever eat from here on out smells like Musty Demeans and nobody wants that. That’s all I got, for now. So let’s go!

IT BURNS INTO YOUR HEART, THE DARKNESS THAT YOU FEAR

YOU WERE NEVER FREE, AND YOU NEVER REALIZED

AND LOVE, IS A WORD YOU'VE NEVER HEARD

YOUR HEART IS COLD CAUSE IT BURNS, THE DESIRE TO LEAVE THE MIND

[As "And We Run" by Within Temptation ft. Xzibit begins to build, Megan Reed emerges to the main stage. The crowd gives her a resounding applause and she can’t help but to acknowledge the fans with a wave and a bow. Reed begins to make her way to the octagon, with several members of her camp following behind.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

“Firecracker” Megan Reed, one thing I will always respect about a cohesive fighting couple is the understanding of the lifestyle. Megan and Aries Reed are a very great example in how both are growing in the sport and doing it together. But let’s not focus on the personal alone because professionally coming in at 2-3 some may say Megan is still finding her footing but I believe she showed a lot in her victory at UGP 18 against Zoe Sinani.

JASON JACKSON
Here's the thing about Megan though. She’s not just training herself. She’s been in charge of Aries’ camp for a whiiiile now. She does his meal planning, his training. Believe me. I know how difficult it is to take care of that sort of stuff for others while still maintaining your own training regime. It’s rough and it runs you ragged. Tack on the fact that she just had a kid not too long ago and the fact that kids can be little nightmares? It can be a distraction. I hope that Megan can leave that outside life outside of the cage and clear her mind for this bout here. I think that if she can fight through the outside distractions and focus on the craft, Megan Reed can be a real threat to this division.

CARRICK PRICE

Sometimes it’s just about getting that momentum and then using that momentum to step up to the next tier of fighter. Almost everyone has the talent to do it and at the end of the day it comes down to the mental side of things. As cheesy as it sounds, in many cases it comes down to who wanted it more in their preparation. Because outside of getting lucky with punch right on the button, the difference in most fights is preparation.

[Megan makes it to cageside where she strips down to her gear and has the fight official inspect her to ensure she is fit to fight. Once she’s been cleared, she climbs up the steps and enters the octagon with the roar of the crowd hyping her up. She calmly walks over to her corner, and begins shadowboxing to loosen up and stay warm.]

"DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER" BY SHIRLEE MANSON

BEGINS TO PLAY

[As the music begins to play over the loudspeaker and the lights dim down, Julia Tran emerges from the main stage and the crowd roars with cheers. Tran has her Real Killas crew following close behind her as she grins and waves to the crowd.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER
And now “The Jewel” Julia Tran making her way to the cage. One of the most intriguing factors spoken about earlier, this being the last fight on both contracts. Add on identical records and it is a defining moment for both fighters. A great way to be opening up the under card. Tran comes in off a split decision win against Darren Thatcher after previously losing by split decision to Saffron Harris. We’ve seen her judo on display and I’m thinking in this fight she want to keep it close. Keep Reed’s kickboxing to a minimum.

CARRICK PRICE

Keeping the fight close is going to be easier said than done. To take a phrase from Jason’s book, the moment she stands still, it’s game over. She’s got to stay continuously busy and look for openings to get inside of Megan’s range. I think she’s got it in her if she sticks to the gameplan her coaches have instilled in her. But she needs to execute tonight and pick up a statement win with a finish. Stop letting shite go to the judges.

JASON JACKSON

That’s right. Move or die. The minute you plant yourself in front of Reed and let her find her range it’s gonna be a bad time for you. She needs to push the pace, close the gap, and use the judo skills to negate the striking game of Megan Reed.

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, we are live exclusively on the Battleground Network here at the Mexico City Arena in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico for UGP 19! And now, this opening contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Bantamweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 2-3. She stands 5’2” and weighing in at 120 pounds. She is from Chicago, Illinois, fighting out of Lion’s Den FC Las Vegas, she is “Firecracker” Megan Reed!

[Megan Reed raises both clenched fists in the air as the crowd cheers her on.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Judo Grappler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 2-3. She stands 5’3” and weighing in at 105 pounds. She is from Huntington Beach, California by way of Can Tho, Vietnam, fighting out of Real Killas MMA, she is “The Jewel” Julia Tran!

[Julia Tran looks focused in her corner as she bounces in place and rolls her shoulders to stay loose.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

The strikes of Reed or the Grapple of Tran? We are about to find out.

JASON JACKSON

It’s a hard call. If she utilizes the grappling correctly this should be a walk in the park for her. If she doesn’t… well… it could be nap time.

CARRICK PRICE

My money is on the striking of Megan Reed if for no other reason than it feels like the striking is always front and center here in the GP.

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell announces the first round and both fighters step out from their corners. Megan Reed dodges a strike from Julia Tran and counters with a crushing right hook that almost lifts Tran off from the ground!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Right out of the gates? Christ Heaven Lord!

JASON JACKSON

Ohhweeeeee doggy. That’s what I like to call a “motherfucker punch.” Tran just got served up a hearty helping of it. She’s in trouble here right out of the gate.

[Tran stumbles back and Reed follows up with a solid middle kick that wrenches Tran. The Jewel holds her midsection in obvious pain while Reed continues to walk down her opponent. Just as Megan gets close, Julia changes levels and shoots for a double leg takedown! Reed is taken off her feet, but she manages to pull Tran into her guard as they hit the mat. Both women jockey for position on the ground before Megan rolls and reverses the situation to get a full mount over Tran. Both women continue to struggle for position before out of nowhere Reed grabs an arm and tries to lockout an armbar! Julia is able to slip free from the submission with ease and pushes Megan Reed away, who rolls over her back and gets to standing position. Willie Green halts the fight to stand up Tran and the fight resumes with both fighters standing.]

CARRICK PRICE

Beautiful double leg takedown by Tran but I’m already concerned that Megan was able to immediately reverse their positions and get to full mount. Would have liked to have seen Megan land a few strikes before going for that armbar. But she’s got to be feeling good about how the opening moments of the fight unfolded, in spite of being taken down.

TOUSSAINT HARPER
The strikes are winning. Harshly winning. Reed showing her ability to handle on the ground side of things. This is either going to end quickly or turn out into a long battle of attrition.

[Back on their feet, Tran and Reed begin circling around before Reed bull rushes in and pushes Tran up against the fence in a plum position. Reed tries to throw some body punches but Tran is able to block them effectively. Reed looks to be having some trouble controlling the fight and tries to push off Tran and get some separation, but Tran clamps down and keeps the clinch intact. Megan continues to push and pull in the clinch and gains just enough separation to launch a couple short jabs followed by a brutal elbow! You can clearly see the effects on Tran as she closes up to defend herself. Reed then comes in fast with a flying knee to the midsection and that powerful strike sends Julia Tran to the mat!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

O-O-OH! That’s a tough strike! Well played! Reed looks to follow up on the knockdown.

JASON JACKSON

I know you’re talking about that knee but I’m more impressed with the way she created separation and landed that nasty short elbow strike. That reminds me of the type of stuff I used to pull off from the clinch. Those short, inside strikes really pack a wallop.

[Reed is standing while Tran is on the ground on her back. Reed launches a kick to Tran's thigh that connects with a loud pop. Reed goes for another, but Tran checks it and counters with an upkick that connects to the gut! Megan stumbles back a few steps but comes firing back in with another kick to Tran’s leg. She connects on one and goes for another but again Tran is able to check the second kick. Megan Reed then decides to step back and wave for Julia to stand up. Tran does so with caution and now both fighters are back to their feet with the crowd cheering them on.]

CARRICK PRICE

I just really like the fight that Megan Reed is fighting right now. She’s making Julia Tran fight for every single inch of ground she gets, and more often than not landing some pretty significant strikes with it as well.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Reed wants to burn her fire and burn it early from both ends of the candle. As of right now, it’s working to a T.

JASON JACKSON

Let’s just hope she doesn’t burn herself out completely.

[Both fighters circle around to the center of the octagon and Reed throws a quick right hook that just glances off Tran's arms. Reed then rushes in once again and is able to get Tran stuck with double underhooks. Both women jockey for position and somehow Tran is able to slip behind Reed and looks for the rear naked choke! Reed quickly senses the danger and pushes off of Tran to get some separation. Just as Megan turns back to her opponent, Julia changes levels and shoots a takedown. Just as Tran closes in, Reed is able to connect with a knee to the temple that stuns Tran! Julia is somehow able to bear crawl away from any further danger and tries to recollect her wits. Megan walks forward to keep the pressure on her opponent and launches a nice leg kick that smacks Tran’s calf. Reed then fakes a move and launches a liver kick but Tran is able to block it and push her opponent back. Both fighters circle around looking for any openings before Reed comes back in with a leg kick. Julia Tran is able to check the kick and counters with a big shovel hook that tags Reed square on the chin!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

We have return fire by Tran. What a way to start the undercard, they are trading back and forth.

JASON JACKSON

THERE YOU GO!! That is going to get you back into this fight Tran! Show her that you’re not phased by the shit she’s hitting you with and fire back a barrage of your own. If this is your yard you need to prove that shit. Don’t just bark, BITE!

[Reed stumbles back on her heels but manages to stay upright. She throws some tentative punches to try to keep Tran at a distance but Tran comes in with a couple of laser jabs. Those jabs connect but then Reed answers with a stiff cross and we got a solid exchange going on here. Reed moves aside and continues to chop at the leg with a furious leg kick to Tran's thigh. Megan doesn’t stop there as she then unloads with a couple of jabs then finishes off with a big hook! Tran blocks the jabs but the last punch hits hard on Julia Tran's cheek! Tran stumbles and falls to the mat! Tran is still able to keep her composure as before while she defends on the ground and Reed attacks on her feet. Both fighters play or safe for the final ticks of the round with Reed connecting with a handful of kicks to the thigh, but nothing too damaging. The buzzer finally sounds and the referee separates the fighters and directs them back to their respective corners.]

CARRICK PRICE

Well, Megan’s up one round to none. No doubt about it. Might even be 10-8 in her favor with how she controlled the round and scored multiple knockdowns. Even so, I don’t think Julia is out of this one just yet but she needs a big second round or this one is going to slip away from her quickly.

TOUSSAINT HARPER
It’s still a fight until someone goes night night. With that in mind I don’t think Julia was ready for the ground game that Megan possesses. She showed a lot in just those 5 minutes. There will be fighters more proficient at something than you but all you have to be is proficient enough to slow them down.

JASON JACKSON

Normally I’d say that Julia needs to take this down but she’s shown that she can strike pretty efficiently as well. She needs to stop waiting on Megan and she needs to th— wait. I’m triggered. I refuse to say “Megan” anymore. She needs to make sure that she fires her shots off before REED. You’ve gotta be first. If you’re not first you’re last. Looks like the cornermen have cleared from the cage and it’s time for round two.

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[Round two opens up and both fighters close the distance. Megan Reed doesn’t waste much time, throwing a furious flurry of punches and puts Julia Tran in a world of hurt! Tran’s forehead looks a bit bruised and cut after eating the solid combination. Julia tries circling away, but Reed cuts her off and rocks her with a left hook and Julia Tran seems hurt! She stumbles backwards and she's an easy target! Reed rushes in and secures a single collar tie. Both women struggle for control for a bit before Reed pulls guard. Tran looks a bit staggered with her movement being delayed and surprisingly goes down without much effort, but she does manage to close her guard. Reed winds back and unloads on Tran's ribs with a couple of big punches from the guard. Those hits are leaving welts on Tran's side and she seems hurt. Reed knows her opponent is disoriented and begins a relentless rain of punches! Julia Tran is having a nightmare trying to protect herself! Willie Green watches for the moment he has to end this! Megan Reed continues to find the openings and eventually turns out the lights for Julia Tran!]

CARRICK PRICE

CHRIST! Welp, no big second round for Julia. Megan put an end to that one quick.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Pop, Bop and Stop! Megan Reed puts a little incentive on her future with a dominating show here. Someone help Willie Green when he’s watching for the stoppage. He looks like Redd Foxx in Harlem Nights.

JASON JACKSON

Told you. She waited on her too much and just got fucking steamrolled. You gotta turn up the pressure on an aggressive fighter like that. Counter fighting works well but if you sit back too much that just gives them free reign to run you the fuck over. Beautiful Job by M- Er Reed. Fuck I hate the name Megan. Can she change her name?

[The crowd explodes into cheers and Megan Reed is swarmed by her corner crew in celebration. Doctors tend to Julia Tran for a while before finally helping her to her feet. After medical staff finish their work on both fighters, the two meet back to the center of the octagon with the referee for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Willie Green has called for a stop in this fight at one minute twelve seconds in the second round, for your winner by knockout, “Firecracker” Megan Reed!

[The crowd cheers once again as Reed has her hand raised in victory. Both fighters shake hands as a gesture of mutual respect before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap the fight.]

["No Smoke” by YoungBoy NBA begins playing over the PA system, and soon Tatum Momo’a emerges to the main stage. The crowd cheers for the 36th Street prospect as she makes her way down the aisle with members from her camp following behind. Momo’a looks focused as she doesn’t show much emotion heading to the cage.]

JASON JACKSON

THE SAMOAN SMOKE SHOW IS IN THE BUILDING! Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, I’m not talking about myself. I know I’m pretty but we’re talking about this young fighter right here. Tatum has been looked at as the sister of Middleweight Contender Zion Momo’a. She’s been looked at as the fiancee of legend and future MMA hall of famer Byron McCall. But for some reason as a fighter people have been selling her short. Sure, she’s dropped the ball here and there in her career but we don’t all get off to undefeated starts. I see the skills there, and she has two badasses in her corner and the whole 36th street crew behind her and I believe she’s going to come ot here and show us something against tis very game opponent tonight.

CARRICK PRICE

I always feel like I come into Tatum’s fights expecting big things out of here and end up leaving disappointed. Hopefully that won’t be the case tonight. She seems like a lass that’s got all the tools she needs in the woodshed and just hasn’t quite figured out how to use them all effectively yet. Once she gets those pieces figured out, though, watch out. Maybe this will be the night.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

The focused eyes I mean it’s there you can see it. Tatum Momo’a is here to make a statement tonight in Mexico. She’s no games and no smiles. I see so much in her and it’s like a lot of potential to still be shown full circle.

[Tatum makes it to cageside where she strips down and gets inspected by the fight official. Once she’s been cleared, she heads up the steps and takes her corner. She rolls her neck and shoulders a bit as she awaits her opponent.]

SIEMPRE DIGO LO QUE PIENSO

SIEMPRE DIGO LO QUE PIENSO

SIEMPRE DIGO LO QUE PIENSO

SIEMPRE DIGO LO QUE PIENSO

SIEMPRE DIGO LO QUE PIENSO

[Xabier Belazco comes out to the main stage and stops at the entrance. He closes his eyes and takes in the cheers of the audience and the feel of the moment. He opens his eyes to an intense stare at the cage, never letting his gaze stray as he walks down.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

The returning Xabier Belazco coming down and do you hear this crowd? A great returning applause. He’s zero’ed in on the cage with this being the first fight on his new contract. He looks to be in great shape and ready.

JASON JACKSON
The Zen Master. That’s what they call this guy and for good reason. You could say something about this man’s momma and he’s not going to show a lick of emotion I think. He’s cool, calm, and collected, no matter the situation. That sort of thing does wonders for the mental game, but his physical game is right up there with the best of them as well. Tough, tough guy. Hard to discourage and hard to put away. That sort of heart is immeasurable.

CARRICK PRICE

If you talking to Delaney he would tell you that Xabier Belazco is right up there with the toughest fights he’s ever had. I think father time might be catching up with him a bit, as it does eventually with everyone. But there’s no question that he’s dangerous and if Tatum isn’t careful, he’s going to put on a clinic.

[Belazco reaches the cageside area and begins to disrobe to get inspected by the fight official. Once he’s been cleared, he bows down before entering the cage, and places a fist on the mat before entering.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Lightweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Boxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 5-5-1. She stands 5’7” and weighing in at 152 pounds. She is from Los Angeles, California, fighting out of 36th Street MMA, she is “The Samoan Smokeshow” Tatum Momo’a!

[Tatum Momo'a raises her fists in her corner. She seems confident and ready to rock.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And her opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Grappler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 6-6. He stands 5’7” and weighing in at 155 pounds. He is from San Diego, California, fighting out of Real Killas MMA, he is “The Black Knight” Xabier Belazco!

[Xabier Belazco is beating himself up in the corner before the fight begins, smacking himself in the face, body and legs to get ready for this fight.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

There’s a lot at stake as is in every fight. Who wants it more? We have the #3 Lightweight Xabier Belazco and the #4 Lightweight Tatum Momo'a. Can title contention dreams become real for the winner of this bout? I personally would at least lock an opportunity in a lightweight contendership bout to face Double D down the road.

JASON JACKSON

All the chips are on the table and someone has to take home the pot. Who is it gonna be? You’ve gotta think a loss here means The Zen Master maybe steps back a little and focuses on his new kid and his family but you never know. This life is hard to get out of once it has ahold of you. We know that better than anyone.

CARRICK PRICE

Someone’s going home with a below five hundred record tonight. Unless the unthinkable happens and this ends up in a draw. Please, God, on my fiance’s beautiful titties… don’t let that happen.

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[As the bell rings, Belazco and Momo’a touch gloves in the middle of the cage and the fight starts! Both fighters circle around the center of the cage and Momo’a is the first one to do anything as she fakes a punch and shows some of her footwork to move aside. A slight smirk from Belazco towards Momo’a as a sign of respect as they continue measuring each other up. Tatum Momo’a attempts a sweep single and catches Belazco’s far ankle making him trip to the mat! A very slick takedown by Momo’a early in the first round; she jumps right over Belazco looking to end the fight with some Ground and Pound from closed guard, but Belazco is dodging and defending the shots really well!]

[With the referee really close to the action, Belazco looks to roll on the ground and he makes it! He’s now in full mount over Tatum Momo’a! Momo’a scrambles, looking to roll to her side and trap Belazco; but Belazco keeps good control and remains on top throwing some fists and elbows. Momo’a defends some of the shots really well, but her focus remains in shifting the guard and she manages to move into half guard! Belzaco is still over Momo’a and looking to end the fight, but Momo’a defends herself well with some hammer punches to Belaco’s ribs. Yet one of the punches Belazco managed to block and countered with a shot of his own. Belazco now looks to pass guard and manages to free his leg and move to side mount!]

[Momo’a launches some weak punches that Belazco managed to block effectively. Belazco seems to be looking for an Americana; but Momo’a shows some ground skills and puts Belazco back in half guard! Now with Belazco in half guard, Momo’a attempts a triangle from the bottom; but Xabier Belazco slips out! Momo’a doesn’t stop there as she turns her hips and switches to an armbar! She’s throwing everything at Belazco! Belazco tries to get some advantage after the missed move and cartwheels towards Momo’a; but she evades the guard pass. After a while, Dusty Whittaker stands them up due to lack of activity.]

CARRICK PRICE

This mother fu-

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Do I ask about the cartwheel?

JASON JACKSON
Well, my man has a career in Cirque De Soleil if he decides to step away from MMA. What the fuck was that?

[Momo’a launches a smirk towards Belazco as she launches a furious low kick that Belazco managed to block and strikes back with a very good jab that stuns Momo’a! Tatum Momo’a looks to counter and fakes a punch and launches herself into Xabier Belazco pushing him into a thai clinch! She strikes Belazco with a couple of knees before she pushes him away trying to keep the fight at a striking range; but Belazco doesn’t want to break the clinch as he ducks under her trying to move away with control; which he finally accomplishes. The fighter stand and Belazco looks to strike first, but his strikes are dodged by Momo’a who counters with a brilliant combination that forces Belazco to try and defend better!]

[As Belazco stumbles back Momo’a grabs a hold of Belazco’s left leg, looking for a takedown; but Belazco manages to show some balance pushing Momo’a away from him. Both fighters study each other looking for a hole in their defense. Tatum Momo’a is the first one who tries some offense as she throws some tentative punches that take the best out of Belazco and force him to circle away from danger. Momo’a looks to keep control of the fight as she tries a middle kick, but Belazco blocks and steps away. The miss cue by Momo’a is enough for Belazco to grab a hold of her right leg and take her down with a single leg takedown, followed by a hard elbow to Momo’a’s midsection and she seems to be hurt.]

CARRICK PRICE

Damn that was a HELLbow if I’ve ever seen one and Tatum did not like that at all.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And my lunch is turning. What a hit!

[Belazco is now in open guard over Momo’a and she tries her best to close her guard around Belazco, but she’s not able to do it; as Belazco continues to pound away at her. But Momo’a keeps defending herself; it almost seems to be frustrating Belazco who tries a big right hand, but he fell into Momo’a’s trap! Tatum Momo’a overhooks Belazco’s right arm and starts cranking! A very interesting and unorthodox maneuver! Belazco seems to flailing away, but manages to pull his arm out of danger. But Momo’a doesn’t relent as she tries an armbar once more! Belazco throws some hard punches with his left hand that manage to get Momo’a to soften the hold enough for him to escape and fight back with him… jumping inside Momo’a’s guard! The Samoan Smokeshow didn’t see that one coming! And Belazco is now in open guard once again! Throwing everything but the kitchen sink, Belazco continues to attack Momo’a who defends as well as she can and fights back with some vicious punches to Belazco’s mid-section. Momo’a tightens her guard and manages to pull Belazco into closed guard.]

[With both fighters just jockeying for position, the referee has no option but to stand both fighters up. After the stand up, Momo’a closes the distance between her and her opponent looking for some more action and action is what the fans have as Momo’a throws some nice punches towards Belazco; but The Black Knight blocks them nicely! The two of them continue exchanging blows, exciting the crowd in the final seconds of the first round! The bell rings and the ref stops the action!]

CARRICK PRICE

Very close round for me that I think I just give to Xabier just because a few of the strikes he landed really did seem to trouble Tatum. But she’s in this fight and you can tell she’s well prepared, well coached, and determined to not let this one slip away.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

I’d have to agree. There were highlights for Tatum within the round but from start to finish I would have to say Xabier had more control of it. But that cartwheel needs to be returned to sender.

JASON JACKSON
Return to sender? Shoulda never been bought. But hey, I can’t fault him. We’ve all tried some crazy shit out there at one point or another. I gotta give the first round to Belazco though That elbow was nasty and he seemed to land more cleanly and control the fight a bit more in the opening stanza. Let’s keep this show moving though. ROUND TWO…… FIGHT.

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[Momo’a shows some bruises from the last exchange with Belazco and The Black Knight seems to be the aggressor in this second round as she fakes a punch, shows some footwork and continues throwing punches at Momo’a who just have the option to move backwards as Belazco continues throwing wild punches at her. Solid shot from Momo’a to Belazco’s body as a counter; but Belazco blocks in time and the shot doesn’t do nearly as much damage as it should’ve. With Belazco continuing his relentless pace, Momo’a looks to the ground and grabs Belazco’s left leg; but Belazco manages to jump backwards and free the leg to continue standing. Yet those seconds managed to slow Belazco’s pace down enough for Momo’a to engage in a wild exchange of punches with Belazco with only few of the shots actually landing. Momo’a looks for angles as she throws some jabs that are countered by hard punches from Belazco.]

CARRICK PRICE

Momo’a needs to hit the gas pedal a little bit. Get in Xabier’s face and not let him dictate the pace. Put him on his heels because right now this is just going at whatever speed he wants it to.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And he’s definitely getting the better of most of the battles so it probably doesn’t bother him at all to continue like this.

[The exchange has the crowd on their feet as Momo’a challenges Belazco’s chin with a beautiful uppercut, that’s immediately countered by a cross from Belazco. Momo’a staggers but looks for a sweep single, that’s shrugged off by Belazco who quickly surprises Momo’a with double overhooks! The crowd is now really behind this fight as both fighters continue the exchange with Momo’a landing a nice one-two combination followed by a low kick that gets blocked by Belazco. Momo’a continues with the combinations, but Belazco shows great dodging skills avoiding those punches and making Momo’a look silly in the process. An inside leg kick by Momo’a that misses and it’s countered by a hook to the body from Belazco that stuns Momo’a. With Momo’a now moving backwards, Belazco continues punching away at her and landing some crazy shots.]

[A desperation low kick from Momo’a that gets blocked and Belazco throws an Overhand Right that lands hard on The Samoan Smokeshow’s face!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Oh! We all heard that!

JASON JACKSON
Look at the resiliency and toughness of Momo’a though. She’s got heart. You can’t train that sort of chin man. That’s all natural. He’s tuning her up right now and she’s eating it all with a smile. Crazy.

[Momo’a is receiving a hard beating! But she continues fighting! Momo’a throws some punches at Belazco but he moves away from her. A furious Momo’a fires some low kicks that land and punish Belazco’s legs repeatedly. Belazco connects with a few punches, but Momo’a continues punishing Belazco’s legs! Sound strategy looking to slow down Belazco’s pace. Momo’a throws a Shovel Hook at Belazco, that just hits air and gets countered by a single leg takedown from Belazco. The Black Knight is now in side mount and looks to end the fight right here. Momo’a flails away, trying to trap Belazco in her guard; but Belazco keeps control and remains in side mount and throwing some hard punches. Momo’a seems to be gassing out; but she manages to switch to full guard. Belazco continues throwing hard hits, but Momo’a, somehow, manages to dodge them. Belazco moves on the ground and manages to switch into side mount.]

CARRICK PRICE

Xabier is doing an excellent job of taking advantage of moments that get a little bit frantic. I hope it’s not the case but it almost seems as though Tatum’s will is starting to break a bit. She seemed ready to gut things out in the first round but Xabier kicked things up a notch in this round and she just seems a little frazzled by it. She needs to collect herself, get her focus back, and finish this round off well.

JASON JACKSON
I agree man. She’s gotta pull herself together and set things up better. The leg kicks are great and they are working but she needs to set things up more. Belazco is better on the ground, that much has been shown. I think she needs to dial it back, counter strike and feint to find some openings. Right now it’s all frantic and desperate. That’s not gonna work for her against this man.

[It’s obvious Momo’a has seen better days as she attempts to trap Belazco in her guard once more, and manages to move into full guard. She attempts another triangle; but Belazco slips out and away to avoid danger. Belazco moves away from Momo’a as Dusty Whittaker halts the fight to stand Momo’a up. The fight resumes with both fighters standing and another solid leg kick from Tatum Momo’a but Belazco is able to check it. Belazco and Momo’a circle around the center of the cage, and every time Belazco tries to get inside, Momo’a hits him with a low kick. The final seconds of the second round are upon us; but Belazco doesn’t care he manages to grab Momo’a by the waist and takes her down right at the bell.]

CARRICK PRICE

Think that’s another round for Xabier but I did like the way Tatum regained her composure in the final seconds. She started making Xabier pay for trying to get inside and in spite of the takedown right at the end, I think she’s got something to build off of going into the final round. But she can’t let this one go to the judges. She needs a finish.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

I’d see it as a round for Belazco but Momo’a is helping herself with her movement and spirit. Belazco is giving her a lot to handle though. The takedown at the very final seconds, can’t punctuate a round much better than that.

=========================================

ROUND THREE

=========================================

[Momo’a has taken a beating in this one and it’s impressive she’s still in this fight. As the third round begins, Belazco tries to end it quickly with some nice shots that just miss the mark. Momo’a counters with a vicious cross that lands straight into Belazco’s face! Belazco staggers and moves back in looking for an uppercut, but Momo’a blocks it! The Samoan Smokeshow hits Belazco with a right hook to the body and Belazco counters with a nice uppercut that connects to Momo’a’s chin and makes her move backwards!]

CARRICK PRICE

Jesus Christ, what a counter uppercut. My fuckin jaw hurtsr for her right now.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

This is definitely not the finish you were speaking of her needing. Oh my word!

[With the space, Momo’a fakes a punch and launches a liver kick! But Belazco is able to block it and push his opponent away. Xabier Belazco manages to land a wicked haymaker to Momo’a and she’s rocked! Momo’a staggers backwards as she launches a hook to Belazco’s body, and Belazco managed to move aside. Tatum Momo’a managed to dodge a dangerous liver kick from Belazco and fends him off with some jabs. The tide of the fight seems to have changed as Momo’a continues jabbing away at Belazco but Belazco quickly seizes his opportunity and counters with a great boxing combination to hurt Momo’a.]

[The two of them exchange strikes and Belazco seems to be the one coming out on top from that exchange. Yet, Momo’a doesn't give up and lands a crisp uppercut and follows it with a hard jab that’s deflected by Belazco. Belazco uses this to his advantage and pushes Momo’a against the cage! Nice knee to the mid-section by Belazco, but Momo’a seems to be having the best out of the clinch, enough to force Belazco to circle around and slip free from the clinch. High kick from Momo’a that misses badly and makes Momo’a slip and fall down to the mat!]

JASON JACKSON

See, there’s the desperation I was talking about. Don’t just wing that kick man! SET IT UP!

CARRICK PRICE

A little bit of fatigue starting to show on Tatums part. She’s got to grit her teeth and go though.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And Xabier is not allowing her a moments breath, he’s once again looking to take advantage.

[Momo’a tries to stand up and Belazco doesn’t allow it throwing stomps Momo’a’s way. After a while, Belazco jumps inside Momo’a’s guard and, again, it catches Momo’a by surprise. Now Belazco is in open guard over Momo’a who’s hurt and the fans know this might be the end of the fight as they stand up and cheer! Momo’a defends herself with punches and elbows that Belazco manages to block effectively.]

[The Black Knight moves on the ground and manages to get into half guard, looking for a side mount that he gets! Momo’a is breathing heavily as she tries to hammer her way out of the position; but Belazco blocks every attempt from Momo’a. Belazco hits Momo’a with a knee and slides into full mount. He suddenly grabs a hold of Tatum Momo’a’s arm and tries an armbar! Momo’a moves and throws some punches and manages to break the lock and move into closed guard over Xabier Belazco! Belazco’s cornermen start shouting to him to get out of the position! But Belazco seems to relish the opportunity as he throws up a Triangle Attempt! Momo’a postures up and breaks the hold throwing some punches along the way. Momo’a grabs Belazco’s arm and seems to be trying for the Kimura that looks super tight but the bell sounds marking the end of the fight!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

High risk, high reward. Best way to describe the tail end of this one. A great ground display and a great fight! I think Momo’a took too long to get the engine running for this one. It happens to us all at one time or another. She kept it moving forward and she didn’t quit. Belazco coming back from his break looking sharp.

CARRICK PRICE

DAMN! She just needed another ten or fifteen seconds. What a fight. I gotta give credit where it’s due. Hell of a fight by Xabier Belazco but what heart by Tatum Momo’a. I don’t think the judges are going to score this one in her favor, but you’ve got to respect her.

JASON JACKSON
You hate to see it. That Kimura looked cinched in and she just ran out of time. I’m a fan though. Momo’a is one tough cookie and I know with the support she has behind her and her team she’ll bounce back from this. SHe’s learning and we see her improve more and more each time out. Can’t give her the decision but I give her mad props. As for Belazco? Great performance. Fuck what I said about focusing on your family man. Get that title shot young thug. Go do work!

[Tatum and Xabier embrace with a quick hug after going the distance. As the two head toward their corners, they immediately get worked on by medics and their crews tend to them for a few moments. After a short break, both fighters meet back to the center of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, after three rounds, we go to the judges scorecards. The judges score it 29-28 Momo’a, 29-28 Belazco, and 29-28 for the winner by Split Decision, “The Black Knight” Xabier Belazco!

[The crowd cheers once again as Belazco has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters shake hands as a final gesture of mutual respect before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

MANY MEN WISH DEATH UPON ME

BLOOD IN MY EYE, DAWG, AND I CAN'T SEE

I'M TRYIN' TO BE WHAT I'M DESTINED TO BE

AND NIGGAS TRYIN' TO TAKE MY LIFE AWAY

[“Many Men” by 50 Cent begins to play over the PA System and soon, the behemoth L.A. Brooks emerges onto the main stage. The crowd cannot help but cheer at the sight of the big man chiseled from stone, as he stands at the top soaking in the reactions. Brooks is swarmed by his team in all directions and soon the entire group begins to make the walk down the aisle toward cageside.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

It’s like, he’s knocked over Japanese skyscrapers.

CARRICK PRICE

Goddamn that lad is the size of… I don’t even know. Fucks sake that’s a big boy.

JASON JACKSON
He don’t look that big to me. I’d spar with him.

[Once the group has made it to cageside, Brooks strips down to his fight gear and walks over to the fight official to ensure he is fit to fight. Once he’s been cleared, he gives a fist bump to each member of his team before stomping his way up the steps. When Brooks enters the cage, he throws his arms out wide and lets out a loud battle cry, which gets the crowd hyped up even more. Brooks heads over to his corner, shadow boxing along the way.]

YOUR REIGN ON THE TOP WAS SHORT LIKE LEPRECHAUNS

AS I CRUSH SO-CALLED WILLIES, THUGS, AND RAPPER-DONS

GET IN THAT ASS, QUICK FAST, LIKE RAMADAN

IT’S THAT RAP PHENOMENON DON-DADDA

["Kick in the Door" by Notorious B.I.G. thumps over the loudspeaker and “Diao” Ferdinand Diao emerges to the stage wearing his gold and white walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Diao burrows his head down while slowly stalking down the aisle, never once losing focus.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Say what you want about the first Heavyweight Champion in Union History, he’s earned his part in the record books. Although his highlight hasn’t been as high since that day, he’s still a strong part of what makes UGP what it is today.

CARRICK PRICE

Yo, for real. Harpy. J. I love when the big boys fight. All that fuckin jiggle. Like watching two giant jello’s throw punches at each other. Except.. Well… these two don’t really jiggle all that much so that makes it not as fun. Bet Cal would whoop both their asses though.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Which Cal? The great potential fight having one or the drunk bang floozies-what’s this white stuff one?

JASON JACKSON
He means the one who beat up the fat redneck guy on M&M a while back.

[Diao finally makes it to cageside where he is checked up on by the fight official. Once cleared, he climbs up the steps and calmly takes his place in his corner, rolling his massive shoulders to keep loose.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 2-0. He stands 6’6” and weighing in at 265 pounds. He is from Lake Tahoe, California, fighting out of Lion’s Den FC Las Vegas, he is “The Big Bad Kaiju” L.A. Brooks!

[L.A. Brooks glares at his opponent from the opposite corner.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Brawler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 5-4. He stands 6’” and weighing in at 263 pounds. He is from Dakar, Senegal, fighting out of Team Brutal, he is the former inaugural Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion, “The Lion” Ferdinand Diao!

[Ferdinand Diao doesn't look concerned about anything his opponent brings to the table.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Why do both of them look like they are about to kill each other? Don’t get me wrong I know they plan to do that but did I miss something?

JASON JACKSON

Nah, it’s just mind games. I hope they fuck each other up though. I love watching hoss fights.

CARRICK PRICE

Alright, so jiggle or not this shite has to be over in the first round, right? The heavy boys aren’t made for more than a round. I wanna see someone’s head caved in.

JASON JACKSON
Has to be. This sort of shit doesn’t go three rounds. Hashtag hossfight 2020.

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The two heavyweights touch gloves as the fight begins and circle around the center of the cage. Diao throws a quick jab to the body, but Brooks is able to deflect it away and takes advantage of the opening, with a big hook that lands to the ribs! Diao takes a step back, but Brooks puts the pressure on, advancing forward--into a one-two combination from Diao that splits Brooks’ lip! Ferdinand shoots for a single leg takedown, but Brooks is able to stuff the initial takedown. Diao keeps trying for it, though, and gets Brooks’ leg off the ground, but Brooks eventually frees his leg and circles back to the center of the cage.]

[Diao flicks out a quick right hand before shooting a double leg takedown, but Brooks is more than ready and sprawls to avoid the takedown. As Diao gets back up, he’s tagged with a one-two combo that snaps his head up, then a huge hook that cracks Ferdinand’s jaw! Stunned, Diao shoots for another takedown, but Brooks is ready and avoids the shot once again. Diao keeps his grip on Brooks, but works back up to his feet, keeping his clinch--and eventually pulls guard, finally dragging Brooks off his feet!]

CARRICK PRICE

Nah man, fuck that. Stand back up. Nobody wants to see the big boys humpin each other on the ground.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Umm, you know what? No. I won’t bite Price. Not saying anything. Diao seems to be desperate about taking to the ground which surprises me because he wasn’t doing too bad on the feet. I don’t understand this gameplan.

[It may not have been Diao’s best move, though, as Brooks throws punch after punch, mixing up body and head shots that eventually cut open Diao’s cheek. Diao sits up and grabs Brooks, attempting a sweep, but Brooks keeps his position and tries to force Diao back to the mat. Diao tries the sweep a second time, but Brooks blocks once again, this time countering with some big body shots that thud against Diao’s ribs. Diao isn’t deterred, though, and on the third time of trying, he manages to turn Brooks over into mount!]

[Brooks scrambles out of mount, and manages to escape to half-guard, at least, before Diao could do much damage. However, the former Heavyweight Champion punishes L.A. Brooks’ ribs with heavy fists. When Diao tries to pass, though, Brooks is able to counter and escape to full guard! Diao throws down some heavy punches from the top, but most come up empty--until Brooks catches one of Diao’s arms, and cracks him with a huge elbow! While Diao’s stunned, Brooks turns him all the way over into mount!]

CARRICK PRICE

I swear to Christ, Harpy, I think the fuckin world is against me. When I want to see fights on the ground, the fuckin’ ref stands them back up after two seconds. When I want to see them stand up and throw, the ref is content to let them tickle each other on the ground. I WANNA SEE SOMEONE’S SOUL GET KNOCKED OUT OF THEIR DAMN BODY!

JASON JACKSON
I’m with Carrick on this one…

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Waaaiiittt for iiiitttt….

[Diao tries to escape to half-guard, but Brooks powers his way past Diao’s escape attempt, and ends up taking the former Champion’s back, with one hook already in! Diao throws a couple elbows backwards, but none connect with any major impact. Despite the advantageous position, Brooks isn’t able to do much with it, and ultimately, referee Herschel Warden stands the fighters up.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Waaaaiiittt for iiiittttt..

[Brooks throws out a few pawing jabs to test Diao’s reactions, and when it looks like Diao’s about to throw, Brooks launches a huge head kick! Diao’s visibly rocked, and stumbles backwards--and Brooks follows with a huge looping right hand that cracks into Diao’s jaw, and drops the former Heavyweight Champion out cold! Herschel Warden rushes in to protect Ferdinand Diao, but there’s no reason--L.A. Brooks is already celebrating his win!]

JASON JACKSON
JENGA!!! AND THE NAKATOMI PLAZA COMES CRASHING DOWN.

CARRICK PRICE

HAHA FUCK YES! LETS GO BIG BAD KAIJU! See what I mean. Make the big boys stand up and magic happens. Oughta give me a raise for that one.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And boom goes the dynamite.

JASON JACKSON
Boom went his fuckin’ jaw.

[The crowd explodes into cheers and Brooks is swarmed by his corner crew in celebration. Doctors tend to Diao for a while before helping him to his feet. After the medical staff finish their work, both fighters meet back to the center of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Herschel Warden has called for a stop in this fight at four minutes ten seconds in the very first round, for your winner by knockout, “The Big Bad Kaiju” LA. Brooks!

[The crowd cheers once again as Brooks has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters shake hands as a gesture of mutual respect before splitting off to each one’s crew. A graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

YEAH, I'MA GO FUCK THAT BITCH

I'MA GO THRASH THAT BITCH

SHAWTY GON' SUCK THIS DICK

SHAWTY GON' SUCK THIS DICK

[“R.I.P.” by Playboi Carti thumps over the loudspeaker and Asher Jrue emerges to the stage wearing his grey and yellow walkout fight kit with crew members from his 9th World camp following behind. Jrue has a relaxed look on his face as he sways back and forth down the aisle.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Motivating factors are all over this one ladies and gentlemen. The Young Cub Asher Jrue brings his King features to the cage. You may doubt his experience but you can not doubt his skill at all. He is the only one to solve that puzzle of the greatest Middleweight in Union so far.

JASON JACKSON

Indeed he did. Solved the puzzle with a helluva punch at that. When they ran it back however,  it really didn’t seem to go his way and he failed to defend what was his. So here he is in a situation where he must climb the ladder once again if he wants to call himself the champion again.

CARRICK PRICE

Man… I just don’t know how in the hell Asher is ranked 4th in his division now. The dude ENDED Primarch’s reign of terror. And yeah, he lost the rematch. But still. My guy ENDED Guilly. Did the unthinkable. I could see maybe number two. Maybe even number three. But goddamn number four? If he loses tonight I’m not sure even then he should be ranked fourth. Kid is too good, man.

[Jrue makes it to cageside where he is checked by the fight official. Once he’s cleared, he races up the steps and jogs around the cage a couple times before staying put in his corner.]

NIGGAS BEEN COUNTING ME OUT

I'M COUNTING MY BULLETS

I'M LOADING MY CLIPS

I'M WRITING DOWN NAMES

["Middle Child” by J. Cole bumps over the loudspeaker and Zion Momo’a emerges to the stage wearing his black and blue walkout fight kit with crew members from his camp following behind. Momo’a bobs his head to the music as he slowly makes the walk to the cage.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Now every division has their dark horse. I could go through a whole show to break down the reasons why, how, and what’s missing. Point is tonight, this man is who I consider to be the dark horse of the Middleweight division. Zion has what it takes there’s just been those moments in those pivotal fights where things did not go his way. But when it is clicking and he is on all cylinders, yes he is one of the most dangerous Middleweights. The rankings can be debated of course but his place hasn’t been placed by accident.

CARRICK PRICE

Equally as good as Asher is, Zion’s got that fire. He’s got that drive to prove to everyone that he belongs in the conversation with the likes of Asher and Primarch. But wanting it and being able to make those wants into a reality are two different things. A win tonight does just that. It gets him into the discussion about the best middleweight fighters in the world right this moment.

JASON JACKSON
Honestly, I personally think he’s already in that discussion but a win over Jrue tonight will cement him in that discussion. It will give his name the legitimacy it deserves in that discussion as one of the most dangerous Middleweight fighters in the world, especially if he can STOP the young cub Asher Jrue.

[Zion makes it to cageside where he strips down to his gear and gets checked by the fight official. Once he's been cleared, he jogs up the steps and explodes with a huge leap into the cage. Momo’a makes a b-line to his corner, where he leans into the fence a few times to hype himself up.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Co-Main Event of the evening! The following contest is scheduled for three rounds in the Union Grand Prix Middleweight Division. Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Grappler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 4-2. He stands 5’11” and weighing in at 175 pounds. He is from Miami, Florida, fighting out of 9th World Performance Institute, he is the former Union Grand Prix Middleweight Champion and number four ranked contender, “Simba” Asher Jrue!

[Asher Jrue is beating himself up in the corner before the fight begins, smacking himself in the face, body and legs to get ready for his scrap.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 6-3. He stands 6’ even and weighing in at 185 pounds. He is from Los Angeles, California, fighting out of 36th Street MMA, he is the number two ranked Middleweight contender, “The Blasian Buzzsaw” Zion Momo’a!

[Zion Momo'a is calm in his corner. He looks confident in his abilities.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

This I do believe has the fight of the night opportunity. There’s nothing bigger than getting a shot at the champ, than being the champ. Is the Cub meeting the Buzzsaw or will the Cub dismantle it?

JASON JACKSON

I just watched Tiger King the other night and putting a cat through a buzzsaw sounds like something that Bitch Carole Baskin would do.

CARRICK PRICE

This is the one I’ve been waiting for. I love watching Simba fight, and even more I love watching him fight against those who are talented enough to beat him. Can’t even begin to pick who I think is going to win but I am fucking READY!

JASON JACKSON
As am I, Uce. Let’s get this banger underway. Jordan Ripley, take it away.

OG_RD1.png

[Zion Momo'a and Asher Jrue move forward and touch gloves as the bell signals the beginning of the fight. Momo’a swings with a right hook and connects on Jrue’s chin. Jrue is able to shake it off and steps back in and both fighters engage in a wild exchange of punches! Both are able to connect on some solid strikes but it looks like Zion Momo'a is getting the best of the exchange as he lands a few more blows to the head and body. Asher fires off a combo and Momo’a strikes back but nobody connects. Jrue moves forward looking for some action and rushes in to put his opponent in a double overhook. Zion Momo'a can’t get much going inside the clinch and tries to shrug his way out, but Jrue is now determined to work from the clinch and pummels through and manages to retain his position. Momo'a pushes off of Asher Jrue furiously to gain some separation and starts launching a flurry of hooks and body shots! Jrue stumbles back but Momo'a chases him and continues the rain of blows!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

I see someone is not here for a 3 round endeavor! Momo’a wants it all right here and right now!!

CARRICK PRICE

I love the aggression on Zion’s part right off the rip. You’ve gotta balance that aggression with some patience though, knowing that this could go the distance. But right now, with those punches landing and stumbling Simba, all he’s thinking about is ending it right now and you can’t blame him.

[Momo'a continues throwing a flurry of punches but Jrue is able to duck under and circle out of the corner to regroup. Momo'a continues to walk down his opponent and tags him with a nice one-two combination. Momo'a feints a low kick and quickly switches targets and lands a superb body kick! Momo'a fakes another move and launches a liver kick but Jrue blocks it and pushes his opponent back, then counters with a furious hook! That big left hand hits Momo'a clean on the chin like a wrecking ball! Momo'a loses balance and goes to the mat.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Oouch! Jrue wakes up and lands Momo’a.

JASON JACKSON

Yikes! Planted that man right on his ass with one punch. We see the chin here of Momo’a shining bright though. That same punch knocked the champ out cold.

[Jrue continues standing while Momo'a is on the ground on his back. Momo'a doesn't want to continue the fight in this position and tries to get back on his feet but he can't do it because of Jrue's movements. Momo’a tries to fend off his opponent with some wild kicks, and quickly he finds enough space to jump back to his feet. Back to the beginning! Zion Momo'a is standing now and the crowd cheers him on. Momo’a fakes a side step and launches a nice uppercut, but Jrue blocks it easily and ties up Zion with a clinch. Both fighters pummel for control before Jrue postures up and launches another series of punches! Momo'a pushes his opponent forward and blocks most of Jrue's offense as the two break from the clinch. Jrue and Momo’a both throw wild punches in the air as they break off from the clinch, just trying to land a lucky punch. Both men settle back into their stances and begin circling around to look for any openings. Momo’a fired off a leg kick that Jrue checks and counters with a flurry of solid body shots. Momo’a throws a liver kick but Jrue catches the leg and lands a couple nice counter body shots before pushing his opponent back and trying to throw him off balance. Momo’a kicks his leg free and the two circle back to the center of the cage.]

CARRICK PRICE

Asher seems determined to work from the clinch but Zion is doing a nice job keeping him neutralized. On the other hand, Simba did well to catch that liver kick and connect with those blows to the body that will really give Zion trouble if this one gets deep into the third round.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

They both are starting to feel it out now. Asher’s late start might cost him the round but he’s doing a great job of following up.

[Solid shot from Zion Momo'a to the body lands clean and Jrue clearly didn't like that. Momo'a fakes a punch and shows some footwork moving aside to get a different angle. Momo’a comes back in quick with a solid one-two combo and really shows off his boxing skills. Jrue circles away to avoid any further damage, and reveals a small cut on his lip. Momo’a rushes in before Jrue can reset himself and comes crashing in with a monster Superman punch! That punch hits Jrue right between the eyes and Jrue looks a bit stunned right now! Zion tries to follow up with a big uppercut but Jrue slips it and clamps down on Momo’a with a clinch to slow things down.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Jrue feeling the need to slow things down and so he pulls Momo’a in. A prime example of the instinct the young fighter has. He needs that right now because he’s in trouble.

JASON JACKSON

Zion wants no part of this clinch though. He’s doing well to fight off Simba’s grappling attempts and work from where he feels comfortable. That’s control.

[Jrue has got a solid grasp on his opponent, but Momo’a continues to stay aggressive and throws some knees to Jrue’s thighs. Momo’a tries to break the clinch and when he finds a narrow gap, he launches an incredible knee to the midsection! Jrue stumbles back while Momo’a snaps off a beautiful spinning back kick that rocks Jrue right in the ribs! Asher circles away and the two eventually work their way back to the center of the octagon. Momo'a comes in with a looping right hand while Asher jumps back and jabs. Jrue seems staggered and Momo'a runs to capitalize with a bunch of jabs and crosses. Momo'a avoids a dangerous strike from Jrue and fends him off with some feel-out punches and a couple of leg kicks before the buzzer finally sounds to end the first round. The referee stops the action and directs the fighters to head back to their corners.]

CARRICK PRICE

I feel like the game plan from Zion’s camp is the difference in the fight so far. They’ve really taken away what Asher does best and they’re forcing him to rely on other elements of his game and, at the moment, it just doesn’t feel like Simba is all that comfortable doing so. Well done by Momo’a. Can’t wait to see if this continues throughout the remainder of the fight.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Jrue is so used to being so well on his feet this might be the time where he might have to stick to his strength on the ground to be the guide here. I understand his comfort at his feet but it is caused mixed martial arts for a reason and he can mix it up on the ground if he’s able to free space. The pace that Momo’a is coming with is the issue. That first round belongs to Buzzsaw.

JASON JACKSON

I’m not going to lie to you, I think Simba hit him with everything he had in the left hand and it dropped him… but he’s still here. That has to play on your psyche. You hit a man with everything you got and he just keeps comin? He NEEDS to take this down now. I don’t think he wins this fight on the feet. Let’s head down to the corner and see what the coaches have to tell them

ASHER JRUE’S CORNER

“Come on, now. You're too conservative out there and letting him beat you at your own game! Now listen, I want you to go back out there and start throwing some counters and work in those combos. Don't be afraid to take the fight to the ground, and watch those leg kicks!”

ZION MOMO’A’S CORNER

”Beautiful round, kid, beautiful round. Continue to impose your will on him. You caught him off guard and got him guessing himself already. Stay aggressive out there but don't gas yourself. Be smart. Continue picking him apart — switch it up and work the head, body, and legs. You got this!”

OG_RD2.png

[Round two begins and both fighters touch gloves once again. Jrue fakes a punch and launches himself over Momo’a to try and clinch, but Momo’a fires a few punches and backpedals out. Both fighters circle around and Momo’a goes back to the leg with a brutal low kick to the thigh and follows it up with a stiff jab! The jab barely hits but it seems like one finger has poked Asher’s eye! Jordan Ripley saw it and halts the fight. Doctors slide in to check on Asher while Jordan Ripley warns Momo’a. After a few moments, Asher is cleared and the fight resumes.]

[Momo’a and Jrue touch gloves and give a nod to show no resentment from the accidental eye poke. With the action back in full swing, Momo’a goes right back to Jrue’s legs. He punishes them with some heavy kicks and follows them up with beautiful one-two combinations. Jrue steps in and the two men engage in a wild exchange of punches! Both fighters are connecting and this fight could be ending soon if either one lands a lucky clean punch. After trading back and forth, both fighters circle away and the crowd erupts into cheers for both guys. Jrue and Momo’a circle around looking for any sort of opening and once again Zion attacks the leg, buckling Jrue’s knee and following it up with some tremendous jabs.]

CARRICK PRICE

It’s incredible just how off his game Zion Momo’a has Asher Jrue right now. This is just a wonderfully well planned fight and Zion is executing it to perfection.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

It’s precision. The precision of the gameplan but also how he is currently implementing it. Every time I see a moment for a takedown Zion is preemptively altering with his kicks but he’s mixing it up. Tossing the one-two’s and changing levels. Throwing Jrue off. They get wild for a moment but even after breaking Momo’a is still in his face. That’s hard to deal with.

[Both fighters circle around the center of the cage and Asher is looking a bit frustrated out there. He rushes forward with a big Superman punch and rocks Momo’a! Asher then tries to launch himself over Momo’a with a clinch, but Zion backpedals out and throws a few tentative punches to keep some distance. Jrue fires off a hook to the body, but Momo’a side steps out of the way and counters with a leg kick. Momo’a follows it up once again with a shovel hook, but this time Jrue dodges it and counters with a big uppercut! Momo’a gets stunned long enough for Jrue to lock in a clinch and control the pace.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

After a desperation uppercut but Zimba finally gets his hands on Momo’a.

JASON JACKSON

Did you see that Superman punch though!?! This is a showcase. Plain and simple. These two have gone on record saying the Middleweight division is the best in the business but they are out here to prove that tonight to the world. Wow. I’m buying it. These guys can go. I’m— *audible crash as Jason leans too far back in his chair and nearly toppled over*

[Asher launches a few hard punches to the ribs while Momo’a struggles to protect himself. Zion tries to shrug his way out but Jrue clamps down and retains his position. Both men jockey for position in the clinch until Jrue pushes off and starts launching a flurry of hooks and body shots! Momo'a holds his opponent tight while he tries to cool down the action. Zion Momo'a gets control of Asher Jrue's neck and attempts a standing guillotine but Asher shakes him off and staves off danger. Momo’a tries to push off and get the fight at striking distance but Jrue keeps a tight hold on his opponent.]

CARRICK PRICE

Just like that Asher is right back in this one. I don’t feel like he’s being aggressive enough in the clinch, though. He’s been able to lock Zion down when he wants to but he hasn’t done much with it. Credit to Zion for dealing with it well and frustrating the former champ.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

You’re right Price, he has to do more in there. It’s taken him all the way into this round to really get a hold of him. He has to make this time count. Momo’a is moving like the Matrix out there. Is Jason really dead by the way?

JASON JACKSON

Only on the inside Harpy. I damn near broke my neck just then.

[Momo'a launches a knee and hits Jrue hard just below the ribs! Momo'a tries to duck under Jrue and move away but Jrue pushes Momo'a forward and doesn't allow him to break the clinch and throws a few hard punches to the ribs. Both fighters are beginning to show some fatigue as neither one shows a big commitment to garner some offense and just hang on each other. After a sizable amount of clock has been burned, Asher tries to take Momo’a to the mat with a takedown. Zion stumbles back but stays on his feet, and Asher retaliates with a few punches and one big swing lands clean on the jaw! Asher then postures up and launches another series of punches but Momo'a pushes his opponent forward and blocks most of Jrue's offensive. Finally, Jordan Ripley has seen enough and separates the fighters and tells them to continue fighting. The final seconds tick down and neither fighter initiates much of an attack, and soon the buzzer sounds. The referee steps in and directs the fighters back to their corners.]

CARRICK PRICE

Another close one. Trying to put myself in the judges shoes, I think I’d probably score that one in favor of Asher but only by a hair and only because he finished the round well. But early on it looked like Zion was going to steam roll him.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Has the pace started to take to both of them? Zion’s not as much in your face and after Asher has been through so much work just to get into clinch, he can’t take advantage. Goes to how you how much 15 minutes can take out of you. I like that Asher finally got a hold of Zion but he didn’t do enough within it for me to win the round. Zion had some good offense within the clinch as well.

JASON JACKSON

I think maybe it was more of Zion taking his foot off the accelerator and coasting. He’s got another long 15 ahead of him with one of the best fighters in the division. If I were him? I’d save my gas tank for going hard as fuck to close the fight. Final round. Let’s do this!

ASHER JRUE’S CORNER

“Aye listen to me… It's time to unload! Get pissed! Get aggressive! You're down on the cards and you gotta put this motherfucker away if you wanna win this. Utilize the clinch if you need to, control the pace. Watch those leg kicks, man. If he throws a leg kick, he’s throwing punches behind it. Try to take him to the mat, he don't wanna be there. Come on, Simba, leave it all out there!”

ZION MOMO’A’S CORNER

“Great work out there, boy! You got this one in the bag! Keep mixing it up, he’s got no answer for you. His legs are wobbly, if you stay on him and walk him down, he won’t finish this round. Keep leading with the leg kicks, and watch out for the takedowns. He’s gonna get desperate if you just stick to the game plan. Now get out there and be smart!”

OG_RD3.png

[The final round begins and without wasting much time, Zion goes back to the leg kicks and wrenches Asher’s knee! Jrue fires back with a fast combo but Momo’a is able to fend it off. Jrue and Momo'a step into each other and engage in a wild exchange of punches, but neither man is landing anything significant. Momo’a side steps out and connects with another leg kick and Jrue looks to be limping now! Jrue rushes in however, and the two go at it with another wild exchange but Momo’a is getting the best of it. A right hand from Asher Jrue gets deflected and Momo’a counters with a bone shattering straight right, followed by a deflating middle kick to the ribs! Both fighters circle around for a few moments before Zion is able to tag Asher with a solid combination.]

JASON JACKSON

Oooooh he’s putting the mitts to him. Zion’s kickboxing ability and athleticism is just… Unreal man.

[Momo'a goes to the body and punishes Jrue's ribs with a couple of hooks before backpedaling out. Momo'a studies his opponent looking for a hole in his defense and looks extremely comfortable in the cage right now. Every time Asher Jrue attempts to get inside Momo'a fires a low kick. Momo'a and Jrue circle around for a bit before stepping in and engaging in a wild exchange of punches with Momo’a getting the best of the trades as he finishes it off with a brutal body kick. Both fighters now backpedal away from each other and it looks like they’re taking a few seconds to recover their breathing.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

When the body breaks, it breaks. You will limp, you will lump up, you will burn, and barely breathe. Watch this fight from the very beginning again there’s been a lot of punishment both ways. They have beat each other down and this is it, right here. It doesn’t matter if you can barely stand you must give more.

CARRICK PRICE

This is where the work you do in the first round starts to pay off. Both men have landed some solid shots to the other’s body and you can tell it’s taken a bit of their stamina away from them now that we’re starting to get deep into the fight. Simba looks like he’s fading faster, though, and that’s not a good thing with Zion really starting to tune up those kicks now.

[Jrue moves forward looking for some action with a clinch but Zion struggles a bit before breaking Jrue's attempt of grappling and makes him pay with another furious leg kick. Jrue continues to step forward and Momo'a catches him with an uppercut to the face that leaves a nasty cut under Jrue’s right eye. Jrue stumbles back and Momo’a fires off a brutal head kick that connects to the temple! Jrue drops to the mat and Zion rushes in for the finish. Jrue tries to cover himself but Jordan Ripley has seen enough and stops the fight! Jrue was not intelligently defending himself!]

JASON JACKSON

Yo...YOOOO! OH SHIT! HE DID IT WITH A HEAD KICK! That’s a clear message man. You want to send a message to the champ? Use his calling card. Wow. That was a spectacular performance from Zion Momo’a

CARRICK PRICE

THATS IT! Well game planned. Even better fought. Credit to Zion Momo’a. This was the statement that he wanted, and needed, and he wasn’t going to let it get away from him. If I was Primarch, I’d be a bit wary of Zion Momo’a and the momentum he leaves this fight with. For Simba. Well, you’ve just gotta pick yourself back up and get back into the gym and figure out what went wrong here tonight.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Dark horse. Like I said. You have to worry about these little sneaky creatures because while you aren’t paying attention to them, they are paying all the attention to you. A well-deserved win for Zion Momo’a and 36th Street MMA. I can’t say I’ve ever seen him sharper than he’s been tonight. Zimba stayed to the standup and unfortunately he was never able to get to ground. We know he will be back and competing quickly. The former champ, I expect nothing less.

[The crowd explodes into cheers and Zion Momo’a is swarmed by his corner crew in celebration. The medical staff tend to Asher Jrue for a while before finally helping him back to his feet. After doctors and cut men finish their work, both fighters meet back in  the center of the octagon for the official call.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, referee Jordan Ripley has called for a stop in this fight at three minutes seventeen seconds in the third round, for your winner by technical knockout, “The Blasian Buzzsaw” Zion Momo’a!

[The crowd cheers once again as Momo’a has his hand raised in victory. Both fighters share a hug and some inaudible dialogue as both show tremendous respect to one another. Finally, the two split off to each one’s crew and a graphic pops up on screen, breaking down the statistics of the fight as the commentators recap.]

HOLD UP, SON, WORD

YEAH, TO ALL THE KILLERS AND A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLAS

FOR REAL NIGGAS WHO AIN’T GOT NO FEELINGS

CHECK IT OUT NOW

[“Shook Ones Part II” by Mobb Deep plays throughout the arena. “Long Island Strong” Derrick La’Bell slowly makes his way out while bouncing to keep warm in his black and white walkout fight kit. Just behind him, guards and his corner follow his lead towards the octagon.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

I wouldn't question it, the greatest Heavyweight Champion in Union GP history, but tonight is the chance for “The Beast” Derrick La’Bell to do something no one in any Union GP division has done before - to become a THREE-TIME Champion!

CARRICK PRICE

Twice has this man lost the title, and twice has he won it back from the same people that took it away from him. But tonight is the first time him and Rozier meet inside the cage, and it’s going to be a very different challenge for The Lair representative!

JASON JACKSON
My Boy Dirty D is in the buildin! Shit, I for one am glad to see him back here in a cage. He’s spent a pretty extensive time away from MMA as he pursued a wrestling career, which is all cool in it’s own right, hell I did it myself. However, you have to question whether that creates a bit of rust with hopping back in here at this level to fight… well… quite frankly.. Someone as terrifyingly good as Pluggz. Someone who has been steam rolling everyone put in front of him, Legend or Prospect alike. I hope Derrick showed up here tonight ready to fight. I know he’s been training with Heavyweight Boxer Tim Crosby leading up to this bout so if anything his hands should be dialed in and on point at least.

[La’Bell doesn’t show much emotion as he makes it to cageside and gets checked by the bout official. Once cleared, he stomps up the steps and heads straight to his corner, shadow boxing along the way.]

LAME NIGGAS EVERYWHERE DO YOU SEE IT?

I FEEL LIKE RIPLEY'S DOG CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

[As "Juice" by Peirre Bourne plays Kennard Rozier enter view behind a custom mask over his face. He's wearing a black and tan robe that says Pluggz The Great on the back. He slowly makes his way to the cage.]

C'NOTES EVERYWHERE I DONE SEEN SHIT!

C'NOTES EVERYWHERE I DONE SEEN SHIT!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And here’s the man willing to question it, the undefeated Heavyweight Champion is here! This man has been a runaway train since his very first appearance! He soared through the ranks of the Heavyweight Division and ended Donnie Calabrese’s comeback by capturing the Heavyweight Title. Now, however, may be his toughest challenge in Long Island Strong.

CARRICK PRICE

That’s not going to be a concern for him though. “Pluggz” is the fighter that will win today if we pay attention to the bets. He comes with a 6 fight winning streak, and not a single defeat!

JASON JACKSON
He’s a bad man. I’m a big fan honestly. The sort of power that he generates impresses the hell out of me. I was always known for that knockout ability and this cat? Well he’s out here giving these fans the same kind of show I strived to every time I stepped out there to go to war. Give them a show and leave the sport better than you found it.  That’s the goal here. And well… make as much money as you can while doing it. Right?

[Kennard stares at the cage while his coach Ray Delhomme takes off his robe giving him some last notes. Kennard turns around and hugs everyone in his corner before stepping up the steps toward the cage. He turns around and takes off the mask he was wearing and throws it in the crowd. Turning around Kennard crouches telling himself a few things before stepping in the cage.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the Main Event of the evening! Sanctioned by the Federacion de Artes Marciales Mixtas Equidad y Juego Limpio, our three judges scoring this contest at cageside are Margaretta Manuel, Nieve Carrion, and José Cabello; and when the action begins, our referee in charge in the octagon is Willie Green. AND NOW, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! The following contest is scheduled for five rounds and it’s for the Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, a Wrestler holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 7-3. He stands 6’ even and weighing in at 265 pounds. He is from Uniondale, Long Island, New York, fighting out of The Lair, he is the former two-time Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion and the number one ranked contender, “The Beast” Derrick La’Bell!

[Derrick La'Bell looks like he has been waiting for this fight forever as he sways back and forth on the balls of his feet and rolls his neck back and forth.]

MIKE DEMPSEY

And his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, a Kickboxer holding a professional mixed martial arts record of 6-0. He stands 6’5” and weighing in at 235 pounds. He is from Kansas City, Missouri, fighting out of 9th World Performance Institute, he is the reigning, defending, undefeated, undisputed Union Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion of the World, “Pluggz” Kennard Rozier!

[Kennard Rozier gives no emotion as he glares at his opponent from the opposite corner with intense focus.]

JASON JACKSON
LOOK AT THAT GLARE CARRICK. LOOK AT HIM! He looks like he’s gonna eat his fucking heart when the bell rings. I don’t wanna watch…. Okay, I’m lying. I do.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Alright ladies and gentlemen, the referee of the bout is Willie Green. Hopefully he has his Bennie ‘Snake Eyes’ Wilson glasses on, yes, yes he does. He checks with both fighters one last time, and here we go with the title fight!

OG_RD1.png

[The fight gets underway and Derrick La'Bell circles around Rozier. He grabs his opponent by the waist and tries to take the fight to the ground! Rozier struggles, and Derrick La'Bell is unable to take him down!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Attempt by La'Bell, stuffed by Rozier. Defense was right on cue!

CARRICK PRICE

Pluggz is trying to counter now!

[Rozier throws a one-two combo then fakes a move to fire a big right hand on the chin!

The strikes hit home! A wicked punch by Pluggz rocks La'Bell! Long Island Strong’s left cheek is bruised after the punishment he's received!]

JASON JACKSON
BOP! Landed SOLID there.

CARRICK PRICE

Huge hit by the Heavyweight Champion! La'Bell looks hurt, he could be in trouble!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

That was a destructive right hand! How is La’Bell still standing!?

[A furious flurry of punches from Kennard Rozier puts La'Bell in a world of hurt! Derrick La'Bell tries to take the fight to the ground with a single leg takedown, and this time Rozier is unable to remain on his feet and falls to the ground!]

JASON JACKSON
He runs the pipe and plants him with the textbook single. Brilliant takedown.

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Wise move by Derrick La'Bell, the experience showing it’s worth here. The Champion's striking game was overwhelming, and this might help turn the tables in his favor!

CARRICK PRICE

If Derrick can go for his ground and pound skill, it could spell trouble for Rozier!

[Derrick La'Bell is in open guard over Rozier. Pluggz tries to close his guard around La'Bell, and he succeeds! He tries to roll on the ground and pulls it off!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Beautiful reversal! He is now in full mount over La'Bell!

CARRICK PRICE

The Champion is not going to relinquish his title just like that, and he's going to make Long Island Strong work for it!

[Rozier is now in full mount over La'Bell. The former Champion is using some of his ground skills to escape from this! He pushes Rozier's knee away and tries to roll! Nice move to get half guard! Derrick La'Bell is now in half guard over Rozier]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Little fight cooling on the ground now…

CARRICK PRICE

Rozier came in hot on his feet, so this is a good strategy by the two-time Champion. He needs to keep Pluggz on the ground!

JASON JACKSON
Yeah, but he’s gotta work from the ground or he’s gonna get stood up. Hell, you, me, even Lexi Sheckler’s meth head momma knows that they will stand you up if you take 5 seconds to breathe.

[We're closing in on the two minute mark in the first round and Derrick La'Bell is in half guard over Rozier. Pluggz attempts to move and he manages to switch to full guard! He tries to roll on the ground again, and one more time he gets to full mount over Derrick La'Bell! He tries to keep his position while looking to maybe begin a pounding session!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Danger to La’Bell! Danger to La’Bell! Kennard Rozier controls the situation despite La'Bell's efforts for escaping from the full mount. You can already tell the Champion is looking to set up bombs.

CARRICK PRICE

The Champion knows not just his own ground game, but also Derrick's, and he came prepared. This is going to be one hard fight on the ground.

[Kennard Rozier is in full mount over Derrick La'Bell. Derrick tries to roll to his side and trap Rozier in his guard, and he finally moves to half guard. The excitement from the crowd is visible, as Derrick La'Bell may very well end the fight with his ground and pound! La'Bell attempts to move to full guard, but Pluggz keeps good control and remains in half guard. La'Bell breathes deeply while on the ground!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Derrick La'Bell is working for it and it shows, but Rozier isn’t giving him an inch!

CARRICK PRICE

The Champion is putting on some great defense work!

JASON JACKSON
It’s a chess match right now as both try to plot at least 3 moves ahead to try and get the upper hand here in this grappling exchange.

[Kennard Rozier is in half guard over La'Bell. He tries to free his leg, and uses some of his skill by jumping out of La'Bell's guard. He moves quickly to side mount! La'Bell tries to show some ground skills, and puts Rozier in half guard! Derrick La'Bell manages to switch to full guard, and Rozier tries to escape! He succeeds and he's now in open guard! It’s now Rozier that takes a second to breathe after the hard efforts on the ground put by the two men!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Heavyweights have come South of the border to show you that although they are known for knockouts, they work on the ground game.

CARRICK PRICE

It's clear that this is going to be a war of attrition, and it ends the moment one of them reaches the point of exhaustion, unless the bell interrupts.

JASON JACKSON
I’m already exhausted. And my tummy hurts. I don’t know if it was the tacos or what. Fucking Montezumas revenge man.

[Kennard Rozier is in open guard over La'Bell. La'Bell tries to close his guard around Rozier, and succeeds! Rozier uses some of his wrestling skills to escape from the closed guard. After a few tentative moves, he jumps to side mount, and the Mexico City crowd is cheering him! Rozier slides his knee across and achieves the full mount position! Kennard Rozier is in full mount over Derrick La'Bell!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Tough spot for Derrick La'Bell!

CARRICK PRICE

Rozier is in a great position to begin a nice round of pounding!

JASON JACKSON
That’s what she said.

[Derrick La'Bell tries to roll to his side and trap Kennard Rozier in his guard...

Kennard Rozier rolls him over and takes his back! He takes out his mouthpiece to breathe, and tries to get a hook in… he does it! Rozier has one hook in and keeps working!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And things get worse for the two-time Champion!

CARRICK PRICE

La'Bell looks hurt after that earlier hit and the ground fight... He should be looking to avoid more damage or he’s not getting out of this one with the belt.

JASON JACKSON
Uh.. bro. Did he just ditch his mouthpiece? Did no one see that?

[La'Bell is trying to escape from the rear mount. He tries to use some of his tricky moves but Rozier is smart enough to counter him! Rozier gets a good position on the ground!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

What an incredible flurry! Rozier’s just hammering away at Derrick La'Bell! The referee is saying he's going to stop it if Derrick La'Bell doesn't defend himself!

CARRICK PRICE

GET THOSE HANDS UP!

JASON JACKSON
MOVE OR DIE!

[At this point, Willie Green stands the fighters up due to a lack of activity, and both fighters continue the fight on their feet. By the sound of the crowd, the people clearly agree with that decision. La'Bell has a small cut in his nose.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

This is not good. Derrick La'Bell got the worst out of the exchange and the damage on his face says it all.

CARRICK PRICE

His face is almost busted after that ground and pound session. He was damn close to getting KO'd were it not for the referee's interruption.

[Derrick La'Bell throws a lazy kick, but Rozier dodges and fires an uppercut that almost puts him in to orbit! Again they go at it, and after nothing conclusive, Rozier has some bruises after a few exchanges with his opponent. Pluggz tries a high kick! La'Bell was covering for a middle kick but that one almost knocked off his head!]

JASON JACKSON
WOP! THAT KICK LANDED FLUSH!

TOUSSAINT HARPER

And there's the bell! Derrick is not in good shape after that tremendous punishment!

CARRICK PRICE

His corner is going to need to come up with a plan fast.

JASON JACKSON
Yeah no shit. Step one, stop getting kicked in the fucking head.

[Willie Green separates the fighters as the round concludes. The fighters shake hands as they head back to their corners.]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

Kennard Rozier has to be confident that he won that round.

CARRICK PRICE

Confident? This one clearly went to him. Derrick is going to need a miracle.

JASON JACKSON
See, step one. That’s where you start. Block the fucking shots. This man has seen better days. I believe that the champion is down there somewhere though buried deep. He needs to call that sumbitch out here and get to wok.

DERRICK LA’BELL’S CORNER

“Okay, it’s alright man. Everything’s good. Listen D, you gotta keep your distance when you’re standing up. Don't get caught out there. You felt his power and know what he brings. Keep looking for the takedown and take him out of HIS element. Stay strong out there!”

KENNARD ROZIER’S CORNER

“Alright champ, good round, good round. You almost got him, go for it! Stay on him and keep the fight standing. Avoid those takedowns and go swinging for the fences! Finish the fight!”

OG_RD2.png

[Both fighters go at it again! The two exchange wildly, and Rozier is connecting with a few punches! He sees the opening and blasts La'Bell with a huge haymaker!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

MEDIC!!! That haymaker was full figured and knocked La’Bank Le’Broke! Jesus!

CARRICK PRICE

HE'S DEAD! THIS ONE'S ALL OVER!

JASON JACKSON
Jesus….christ. That was… fuck.

[It looks like La'Bell was hit by a bus! He's out cold! La'Bell's left eye is bruised after the punishment he's received! That phenomenal knockout has put the rest of the Heavyweight Division on notice!]

TOUSSAINT HARPER

This may very well be Kennard Rozier's biggest win in Union GP. Not only has he defended his title against the greatest Heavyweight Champion in history, he has also stopped Derrick La'Bell from capturing the belt for the third time! Those who had questions, consider them answered.

CARRICK PRICE

Still undefeated, still the Champion, and beat the best with a solid KO. What more can I say?

JASON JACKSON
I told you man. Scary powerful. One shot. That’s all it takes. I’m wondering if anyone can stop him at this point. Wow. Hats off to you, you bad motherfuker. Jrue may have suffered a loss tonight but by god Kennard came in and repped hard for 9th world. These guys are bad mothrfuckers and they have proved that here tonight. Both of them. I’m impressed by these young men and their gym and I can’t wait to see what they do in the future.

[As medics and cutmen still attend to the downed La'Bell, Kennard Rozier climbs to the edge of the cage to the crowd's roaring ovation, before he returns to the middle of the cage to get his hand raised.]

MIKE DEMPSEY
