BODIE SULLIVAN

Welcome to the UGP 19 Prelims on the Battleground Network, ladies and gentlemen. We already had an exciting early prelims where we saw some big moments for some rising stars here tonight. Hopefully it's the same thing with the prelims before we pass things off to our other guys for the main card.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

We have a good line up too. But the one thing that's been on a lot of people's mind is the return of Kelsi Morrow. She's going to be competing in our final Prelim bout and everyone's excited to see her back in Union.

BODIE SULLIVAN

She'll be taking on a Throne member themselves in Zamara Ali. Before we get to that one though we have Joseph Byrne vs Mike Hunt in a battle of the bigs. I like this matchup. Both fighters have something to prove. That could lead to fireworks.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

The big boys seem to never go all the rounds so I'm expecting a KO in that fight. As for our first fight in the prelims. I think this one will go all the way.

BODIE SULLIVAN

We have Yasmine Vermeulen taking on Bellamy DeSilva. You're right partner. I think this one could be a nail biter. These are two very talented fighters. Yasmine has been rather stellar since her debut loss and has some impressive wins. This R-MMA fighter is no slouch.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Bellamy DeSilva on the other hand hasn't tasted defeat yet, and in his last fight he pretty much dominated Tatum Momo'a. The fight ended with a questionable draw decision. A two point deduction maybe being the reason why.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Yeah we're easily looking at a guy who could be three and O right now.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

With Delaney pretty much running through the top competition in the Lightweight division. A win here tonight could catapult one of these guys up the ranks as we see how everything plays out with the division. Right now though we're all set and ready to start the fight.

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[With the fighters already in the cage the bell sounds after finals words from their corners. The two touch gloves and the prelims are underway. A solid kick to the leg from Yasmine Vermeulen gets checked as the action begins. Bellamy finds a crack as Yasmine tries to reset and nails her with an overhand right that sends her backwards. DeSilva decides to launch some tentative punches and Vermeulen launches a couple of jabs that are answered by DeSilva with a stiff cross in a solid exchange.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

It didn't take long for these two to get things going.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

A right hand almost dropped Yasmine early but she's regained and finding some punches of her own.

[DeSilva fakes a punch and shoots a takedown! Yasmine Vermeulen didn't see it coming and has been put on the ground. Bellamy DeSilva is in open guard over Vermeulen. Vermeulen tries to close her guard around DeSilva but isn't able to do it. Bellamy DeSilva pushes Yasmine Vermeulen against the fence and then tries to improve his position. DeSilva jumps and tries to free his leg! Vermeulen doesn't allow this but Bellamy DeSilva is able to get half guard here.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

In his first two fights on the ground is where Bellamy was able to finish the fights. Even against Momo'a his ground game was superb. Yasmine better do something or we could see this one over in a moment.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

She's calm right now and isn't in a bad position. Just waiting for that moment to slip back to her feet.

[Bellamy DeSilva tries to free his leg...he uses some of his skill by jumping out of Vermeulen's guard. He moves quickly to side mount! He hooks Yasmine's right leg and sits back for a kneebar. Yasmine Vermeulen manages to kick DeSilva away and scrambles on top. Vermeulen tries to show some ground skills but DeSilva uses his strength to keep Yasmine at a disadvantage.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Yasmine is doing a good job at keeping Bellamy at bay.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Even though she hasn't felt pressured  yet Bellamy has been active and could look for another chance at a submission.

[And Warhead's words ring true as Bellamy DeSilva goes for an americana! But Vermeulen breaks free. Bellamy DeSilva is in side mount over Yasmine Vermeulen and he hooks  Vermeulen's left leg and sits back for another kneebar attempt! Yasmine Vermeulen manages to kick DeSilva away and scrambles on top! The action stalls as both fighters can't get anything going on the ground so Dusty stands the fighters up. DeSilva feints and moves forward with a hook. SNAP! Vermeulen's Chin is bruised after that hook from DeSilva.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Whew, Yasmine ate that punch.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Bellamy set it up with his movements and blasted her.

[Bellamy DeSilva chases Vermeulen and launches a few perfect strikes. Here we go! Vermeulen stumbles backwards when those punches connect with her face. She looks for angles as she throws a few jabs that are countered by Bellamy DeSilva's punches. DeSilva begins to launch a barrage of punches over Vermeulen and this is getting worse and worse and her corner knows it as they shout out instructions to her.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

The Pride of Brazil is bringing a world of hurt to Yasmine.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

He's controlled everything so far in this fight. Yasmine hasn't been able to find any type of groove.

BODIE SULLIVAN

She better get out of there right now because DeSilva is teeing off.

[Yasmine fires back and catches DeSilva with a few jabs before they exchange blows. Vermeulen throws a lazy kick that DeSilva dodges and fires an uppercut that sends Yasmine delusional as she crashes to the canvas. Bellamy waste no time looking for some ground and pound but Dusty steps in before he can get some punches off as Yasmine looks confused and a bit dazed as the bell sounds and the bout is over.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

My God. That uppercut was is what nightmares are made of.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Tonight Bellamy made a statement. He dominated that round and adds another victory to remain undefeated.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Yasmine is a tough as nails fighter and I'm sure she'll be back out there soon ready to bounce back.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I'm saying it right now. King vs DeSilva. That's all I'm saying until we get back with our next fight where two heavyweights look to leave their mark.

UGP19_PRELIMS_BYRNE-vs-HUNT.png

BODIE SULLIVAN

Welcome back. As you can see the fighters are already in the cage and ready for this one to start.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

In this heavyweight bout we have Joseph Byrne taking on Mike Hunt. Joseph has been on a little win streak while Hunt has been looking to find a groove. I think we could see Mike go all out here to try and get better positioning in the division.

BODIE SULLIVAN

He needs a win. As for Joseph. A win here tonight could see him becoming the next challenger for the Heavyweight belt.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I'm sure the coaches at Scrapyard has told him that. That's why I think there is going to be a battle out there. One guy is looking to rise up the ranks while the other could be close to a shot at gold.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Not only that but over the months the Heavyweight Division has been growing and one loss could set you back tremendously.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Alright here we go!

FAN POLL: 65% Joseph Byrne

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[The bell rings and the fight gets underway with a touch of gloves. A furious flurry of punches from Joseph Byrne puts Hunt in a world of hurt out of the gate. Joseph Byrne finds a big hole in Hunt's defense and crashes him with a right hook to Hunt's ribs. Hunt feels the hell out of that punch and tries to retreat and recover. Byrne isn't trying to allow that and trails Hunt, feinting as he looks for another hole. He does and this time sends a truck of a hook to Hunt's head that puts his lights out. Herschel quickly steps in before Joseph could do anymore damage. This one is over folks. Joseph begins to celebrate with his corner while Hunt gets checked on by the medical staff.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Wow! Just Wow!

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Joseph took Hunt's soul out there just now. Another impressive win for this young man. Since his lost he's turned it around and has been killing it.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Those punches Joseph landed to start the fight hurt Mike. He never recovered and this one is over fast.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Thirty Six seconds was all it took. Man, Joseph has some serious steam behind those punches.

BODIE SULLIVAN

We'll see what's next for Joseph whether it's a contender fight or championship. As for Mike. Maybe a little recouping and some time to rediscover himself could work.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

For us coming up in our final Prelims bout we have the young promising Zamara Ali taking on a very seasoned  Kelsi Morrow in her return to Union at one thirty five. It's a Throne vs Throne clash when we get back folks.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Yup that's right. We're back and ready for this Throne vs Throne clash and I can't tell you how excited I am to see Kelsi back in a Union cage.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

At Lightweight Kelsi was one of the best in the world hands down. At Bantamweight I don't know how she'll be. But if her previous fights says anything it's saying that she'll have no problem adjusting.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Across from her is her campmate Zamara Ali. She's a young prospect who has a lot to deal with tonight. You don't expect to be fighting the Kelsi Morrow's in your career in only your second professional fight.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

She's very talented and I believe to have a promising future. A win over Kelsi tonight would be huge for her.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Let's see how this plays out as we're ready to get things started.

=========================================

ROUND ONE

=========================================

[Zamara Ali and Kelsi Morrow touch gloves before a little hug is shared between the Throne members in the center to get this fight started! Kelsi starts things off with a front kick that causes Ali to retreat backwards. Zamara looks for a combo that's countered by punches from Kelsi. Kelsi steps backwards and both fighters circle the cage. Zamara launches a quick hook that barely misses Kelsi's chin as it glances off of her arm.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

So far to begin this round we already see some of that veteran type presence from Kelsi. Just waiting for the moment to take her shots.

BODIE SULLIVAN

She's countering. Sitting back and reading everything well.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

With young fighters like Zamara who tries and throws the kitchen sink at you maybe she should try and start picking her poison instead.

[Zamara looks for angles before swinging with another combo that's countered by Kelsi. Zamara steps forward instead of backwards and the two exchange back and forth with some punches. Zamara shoots in and grabs a hold of Kelsi's leg and looks for the takedown. Kelsi defends well pushing Zamara off and lands a right hand that lands with some effect. Kelsi looks for levels and faints another right hook but catches Zamara with a stern uppercut that causes Zamara to retreat.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Kelsi's being very methodical while Zamara is just throwing shots at Kelsi with not much precision.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

You can see the difference in experience between the two.

[Zamara feints a left right before connecting with an overhand right that drives right into Kelsi's face. Kelsi's leg buckles but she remains standing.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Zamara just destroyed Kelsi with that punch. I don't  know how she remained standing after that one.

[Lightning fast low kick from Ali but Morrow checks it and looks to slow the pace of the fight. Zamara begins angling and throws a few jabs but they don't connect. Kelsi counters with some jabs of her own before both fighters begin swinging but none of them connect with anything until a Roundhouse punch from Zamara lands square on Kelsi's chin. The punch wrecks Kelsi but again she remains on her feet.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Zamara is finding some good shots right now. She's starting to do a better job at setting up her shots and not just throwing hoping something lands.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Yeah, earlier in the round Kelsi was doing a great job at countering Zamara's punches. I think that overhand right may have slowed her down a little.

[Kelsi Morrow throws a combo and so does Ali but nobody connects. Kelsi Morrow and Ali engage in a wild exchange of punches! Both fighters are connecting and this could be ending soon if either lands a lucky punch. Zamara lands a precise hook that rocks Kelsi and she doesn't let up as she let's go with a flurry of punches that are landing on Kelsi. Morrow is in a lot of trouble right now.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Zamara has took control of this round and doesn't look like a prospect right now.

BODIE SULLIVAN

She's doing a good job of not letting Kelsi get her offense off by staying on the attack and not letting Kelsi control the pace.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

She's just delivering some solid punches right now.

[Middle kick from Ali just misses and Kelsi fires a low kick that lands. The kick slows Zamara down and Kelsi unleashes some shots on Zamara. Zamara needs to start defending  better right now. Instead she launches a hook that Morrow ducks and takes some steps backwards to create some space. Zamara Ali tries to take the fight to the ground with a one leg takedown...Kelsi Morrow jumps backwards and frees her leg. She unleashes a kick towards Zamara's face and it connects but Zamara shows a solid chin and stays upright.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

I thought that kick was going to end it Buck.

BODIE SULLIVAN

The rook has shown she can take some licks just like Kelsi. That kick was on point.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Man this round has been back and forth. I'm telling you this is going to be hard to score.

[Zamara doesn't back down and continues to look for the action. She let's loose with an incredible haymaker that snaps Kelsi's head backwards. Kelsi takes aim at Zamara's leg and lands a kick that goes unchecked. Morrow pushes Zamara Ali and moves away from her.. She seems to be recovering her breath. Kelsi Morrow throws a combo. Ali punches back but nobody connects. Jordan Ripley steps in and separates the fighters as the buzzer sounds. The crowd gives them a round of applause.]

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

That was a close round. Both fighters had their moments.

BODIE SULLIVAN

I think this round goes by what the judges like more. Do they like that Kelsi landed more shots? Or do they like the fact that Zamara pushed the pace while landing some good shots of her own?

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Whoever can control this second round could possibly go on to win the fight if it goes the distance.

=========================================

ROUND TWO

=========================================

[The round begins with Kelsi Morrow looking for a hole in Zamara's defense. Ali decides to launch some tentative punches. Kelsi begins swinging as well but it's Zamara who’s landing the punches. Zamara catches Kelsi with a good kick to the chin that leaves Kelsi stumbling backwards.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Zamara has started this round off getting the best of Kelsi.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

From the punches to that kick Kelsi could be in big trouble right now.

[Kelsi Morrow fakes a punch and shows some footwork moving aside while Ali is swinging for the fences!

Morrow backpedals and creates space. Kelsi Morrow fires an unorthodox punch to Ali's torso that hits its mark. Zamara Ali tries a nice one-two combination but Kelsi weaves the blows. Zamara Ali shoots and grabs a hold of Kelsi's legs. Morrow is unable to remain on her feet and falls to the ground.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Nice takedown from Zamara. She's looking real good right now in this round.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

This kid has really brought the fight to Kelsi. I'm telling you. She's going to do good things in the Bantamweight Division.

[Zamara Ali is in open guard over Morrow. Morrow tries to close her  guard around Ali and she succeeds! Morrow tries to roll on the ground! Nice reversal! She is now in full mount over Zamara Ali! Ali is using some of her ground skills to escape from this...Kelsi Morrow pushes Zamara Ali down and prevents her attempts to escape. Morrow fakes a few punches and after a brief struggle she catches Zamara Ali's arm and tries an armbar! Crippling lock! That Armbar from Kelsi Morrow appears to be unbreakable. Ali struggles to free herself and instead of tapping Jordan Ripley steps in and stops the fight which upsets Zamara who feels like she could've gotten out of the armbar.]

BODIE SULLIVAN

Just when it looks like Zamara was about to dominate this fight Kelsi catches her with a perfect armbar.

WARHEAD WILLIAMS

Kelsi locked that thing in and wasn't letting go. A good victory over her Throne cam mate in her return to Union.

BODIE SULLIVAN

Zamara's going to be upset about this one but she's tough as nails and has a lot of potential. Right now it's Kelsi who gets to celebrate though.
