ROUND ONE: This heavyweight match-up was an absolute lopsided affair, and one the higher ups may need to consider what the future holds for one of them. Gauge Lattimore quite literally stormed Aleki Fa’atiu with rapid fire combos, enough for the referee to put a stop to this one early in the opening frame.

ROUND ONE: We move to the complete opposite end of the weight spectrum for our next contest, as Terrico Harris and Natalie Gutierrez square off in a Strawweight bout. Gutierrez landed some solid strikes to open up the fight and looked to be executing a solid game plan with her distance. That is, until Harris changed things up with a well-timed takedown and dragged her into his realm. Harris controlled the tempo with some solid ground and pound, and opened up his opponent for him to slip in an arm triangle for a first round submission win.

ROUND ONE: The final bout for the prelims and it’s our lone Featherweight matchup of the evening. Francisco Silva takes on the debuting C.C. Flynn, a fighter who has already been building quite a reputation for herself on social media. The crowd was into this one as the fight began. Flynn showed some great pacing to start off and landed some solid counter strikes to display some great timing and footwork for the 9th World prospect. Silva fired back with a nice shot that split Flynn’s lip, but she kept on her course. Flynn checked several leg kicks thrown her way while continuing to work in the counter punches. Silva nearly ended this one early with a tremendous head kick but it just grazed Flynn on the chin. He followed it up with a massive body kick that slowed Flynn’s momentum. The two would exchange punches at the end of the round, with Silva taking it and finishing this round strong after a rough start, but overall I hand this first round to Flynn.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Flynn
ROUND TWO: The second round opens up with a wild exchange with Flynn getting the upper hand, finishing the trade-off with a nice looping right hand. Silva came firing back with a solid kick to the thigh that instantly started swelling. Flynn tried working her counter game but wasn’t able to connect, instead Silva kept lighting up Flynn’s legs with kicks. Flynn rushed the storm as the two traded blows back and forth, and although C.C. took a lot of damage, she was able to secure a single collar clinch and slow Silva’s pace down. Both fighters were able to land some big blows in the clinch before Silva slipped free and circled away. Both fighters traded blows with Flynn getting the edge with her counter striking, and finished this round strong. However, similar to Silva in the first round, Flynn’s final push at the end of the second wasn’t enough for me to give her the nod. I’m going Silva.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Silva (19-19 Push)
ROUND THREE: A lot of action in the first two rounds, the final round starts with a little more conservation. Silva tried to end it with a head kick, but missed and slipped to the mat. He quickly stood back up, and after circling around, the two went after it with a solid exchange. Flynn continued to show her superior boxing prowess by slipping and countering and connecting with a massive looping right hand. Silva tried jumping back and throwing some jabs, but it didn’t seem to affect C.C. too much. Silva went for another big kick but whiffed and by now he looked completely gassed. C.C. finished the final round strong, picking her opponent apart with quick, rapid combos. Unlike the first two rounds, the third was clearly for C.C. Flynn, who I believe gets the win from the judges.

ROUND ONE: The main card opens up with our second and final heavyweight bout of the evening. The Canadian Mack Sharpe looked to build off his dominating debut against the Oakland native Bully Miller. Sharpe started off going for a single leg takedown, but Miller read it well and stuffed it. The two got back in a neutral position and Sharpe surprised Miller with a brutal roundhouse punch that left Miller will a gnarly gash across his forehead. Miller was leaking like a faucet and through the crimson mask, threw some feel out punches to try and keep his opponent out of range. Sharpe stayed patient in the phone booth before unloading a barrage of punches, finishing it off with a massive over hand right that slept Miller in under two minutes.

ROUND ONE: In our second of three Strawweight bouts scheduled, we have Syn Saetang taking on Louie Bartolo. “Baa Zombie” will seek to rebound from her loss to campmate Lilly Dunne and looks to be in her A-game. The fight opens up with a solid back and forth exchange where both Saetang and Bartolo are able to connect with some solid shots. Bartolo connected with a powerful right that cut Saetang in the bridge of her nose. Saetang stayed patient though, and slowly began to pick Louie apart with some quick one-two jabs. Saetang measured her range and connected perfectly with a devastating liver kick that folded Bartolo over like a lawn chair. Saetang was quick to rush in and secure a Thai clinch and the end was near for Bartolo. Still reeling from the pain of the liver kick, Bartolo was in panic mode which allowed Saetang to deliver a flying knee to the sternum, dropping Bartolo like a ton of bricks. This was enough for the referee to step in and call off the fight, giving Saetang a well deserved victory.

ROUND ONE: The first of two Welterweight bouts scheduled tonight is a rematch between Royal Holt and Rio Khaill. In their first meeting, Khaill secured the win by a rather uneventful unanimous decision, and although he showed some confidence walking to the cage, he knew not to disregard his opponent. The two spent the first minute circling around, looking for openings and finding their range. Holt was first to strike with some counter punches while Khaill was on his bike. Holt continued chasing his opponent down and it cost him as he ate a big uppercut from Khaill. Holt then switched things up and punished Rio with a couple of hooks to the body. The two traded some punches back and forth, but Holt came out on top in the exchange. Khaill’s eyes were swelling, which gave Holt the opportunity to easily go back to the body and soften him up. Holt finished it off with a bone shattering straight left. Khaill tried to counter with a right jab, but Holt dodged it and came firing back with a violent haymaker that dropped Khaill to the canvas and undoubtedly put an end to this contest.

ROUND ONE: It’s Co-Main Event time and our first championship bout on the docket. The undefeated Gianna Howard makes her first title defense against the also undefeated Elliot McMillan. An “O” has got to go and the crowd is fired up for this Strawweight contest. McMillan kicked off the opening frame guns blazing as he connected with a series of solid combos. Howard was able to work her way back in with some solid exchanges until McMillan fired off a stunning spinning back fist. Howard stumbled to stay upright and fired off a leg kick that got checked but did enough to station McMillan. The Villain worked behind the jab and pressured his way back in before firing off a massive front kick that snapped Howard’s head back and left the crowd gasping with anticipation of a finish. Gianna Howard showed some gritty resilience as she dodged a series of strikes to the body and countered with a glancing hook. Howard and McMillan then circled around cautiously to run out the clock to end the first round. I’m giving this round to McMillan as I think he caught Gianna off guard with an aggressive striking game that kept her guessing.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 McMillan
ROUND TWO: We open the second round seeing a little heightened sense of urgency from Gianna Howard, as the two come out of the gate guns blazing. Elliot McMillan gets the upper hand in this exchange, until an unnoticed eye poke from Howard stops McMillan in his tracks. Even with the pressure still on him, McMillan somehow managed to slip the jabs and check the kicks thrown his way while regaining his vision. Once he settled back into his groove, McMillan landed two bone shattering counter straight lefts that rocked Howard enough for him to rush in and get the clinch. McMillan worked the body with some hooks before Howard was eventually able to break free. After breaking off, Howard gets the edge in a back and forth exchange before McMillan circled out to regroup. McMillan found an opening and came firing back before securing another clinch. Howard got pushed up against the fence and the two basically killed time jostling for position until the horn. A more competitive round, but I still think McMillan gets the edge in round two. You could get the same senses from Howard’s corner during the break as they didn’t leave any subtleties and tried coaching her up to focus on her game plan.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 McMillan (20-18 McMillan)
ROUND THREE: As the two fighters close the distance from their corners, you can see both Howard and McMillan’s eye swelling, which gave some intrigue to how well either one could really see. Nevertheless, the two press on and waste no time throwing down in a back and forth exchange. Both showed a lot of grit here as each were able to counter most of the big strikes thrown their way and leave the wild exchange without suffering a ton of damage, despite the veracity of the strikes thrown. That all changed though whenever McMillan dug deep and connected with a big shovel hook that rocked Howard. As she was stumbling back, McMillan rushed in and connected with a Superman punch that put Howard in serious trouble. McMillan continued tagging Howard until he tried securing another clinch that Howard was quickly able to slip free from. McMillan continued to walk down his opponent and showed no signs of slowing down. Howard was eating some big shots that put the official on high alert. McMillan launched a brutal calf kick that chopped Howard down like a California Redwood and the referee had seen enough. He stepped in and waved off the fight, and just like that, we have ourselves a new Strawweight Champion!

ROUND ONE: It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the Welterweight Championship Main Event between former campmates Lovelie Saint-Cyr and Kelvin Taylor. The Denver crowd is still buzzing and showing a lot of love for these fighters as they touch gloves to kick things off. Saint-Cyr caught Taylor by surprise with a stiff right. Taylor stumbled back but showed some agility dodging a series of strikes that followed. LSC stayed persistent though and caught Taylor with a big hook that dropped him to the mat. Taylor kept alert on the mat while LSC was cautious to move in. Lovelie landed a kick to the thigh before stepping back and allowing Taylor back up. The two circle about looking for an opening then suddenly LSC catapulted himself with a flying knee. Taylor ate the knee and his mouthpiece went flying to the sounds of gasping fans. Taylor fumbled on his feet as LSC parlayed a head kick that put Taylor in serious trouble as he circled away to regroup and avoid any more damage. LSC forced another head kick but whiffed and slipped to the mat. Taylor jumped his guard by surprise, but LSC was able to roll and get top side mount position. After jockeying for position with no advancement, the official stood them up. Taylor went for a takedown, which got stuffed and forced him to pull guard and nearly sink in a guillotine in the process. Taylor worked his way to a north-south position and hit a masterful gator roll and choke, but LSC slipped free and got side control and held on to run out the clock. These guys put on a helluva performance in the first round and you could clearly see these guys went through an adrenaline dump as they staggered back to their corners. Overall close round, but I’m going Saint-Cyr for this first frame.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saint-Cyr
ROUND TWO: As the second round kicked off, both fighters were hesitant to initiate any offense at first as they continued to catch their breath. Saint-Cyr connected with a big uppercut and followed it up mixing in with some nice jabs and leg kicks as he started to pick up the pace. LSC landed a hook that dropped Taylor but KT spring back up and the two engaged in a wild exchange that didn’t inflict much damage for either fighter. Taylor feinted a strike and changed levels to hit a textbook takedown to bring it to the ground. The two jockeyed first position and LSC rolled to get on top. From here he tried locking in an Americana, but Taylor was able to position himself and get free. Taylor then tried to roll but LSC took his back. LSC then worked a hook in and started dropping bombs with hanmerfists and elbows. Taylor couldn’t do anything but shield himself as best as he could and was eventually saved by the buzzer. This round clearly went to Saint-Cyr as he created plenty of separation during any tight situation and had control on all levels.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saint-Cyr (20-18 Saint-Cyr)
ROUND THREE: The third round opens up and you can sense from the body language that Taylor is getting frustrated while Saint-Cyr looks laser focused. Taylor started forcing situations without properly setting them up, having two takedowns stuffed. He eventually pulled guard to bring the fight into his comfort zone, but it had been clear thus far that LSC was more than willing to go to the ground. Both fighters jockey for position where Saint-Cyr ends up in side mount. He continued working and keeping the pressure on Taylor and caught him in a kneebar. LSC had it in tight and Taylor was dead to rights. Taylor’s knee looked to be near the breaking point and the referee stepped in to call this one off, as he didn’t believe Taylor was able to escape. The crowd was in pandemonium from that moment on; not just for LSC, but the Red Rock rep Kelvin Taylor as well. A valiant effort, but this was Lovelie’s night as he continued to prove that he is the gold standard at 170 pounds.
