BULLY MILLER (0-0) vs SERGEY LOKTEV (0-0)
Heavyweight Bout
ROUND ONE: After an incredible display of talent in the first night in Denver, we're back with more action for night two. To kick off this night, we begin with two behemoths from the Heavyweight Division as Bully Miller took on Sergey Loktev. Miller could be seen jaw-jacking before the bell to try and play some mind games. It didn’t seem to work too well as Sergey looked laser focused. After closing in, Miller swung with a big uppercut that missed pretty badly and Sergey countered with a stinging leg kick that echoed throughout the building. The two then began trading blows back and forth and it looked like Miller was getting the upper hand. Sergey dodged a hook to the body and then ducked a stiff jab and came firing back with a monstrous shovel hook. The punch sent shockwaves down Bully Miller and he dropped to the canvas like someone pulled the plug on him.

VANESSA TAVARES (0-0) vs BORJA GEORGE (0-1)
Strawweight Bout
ROUND ONE: The second fight of the night began with a very respectful touch of gloves by both fighters before they started the fight. Tavares and George started feinting some punches that lead to George getting the upper-hand and pushing Tavares against the fence looking to wrestle her to the ground, no doubt some influence from her more wrestling savvy teammates at 9th World; after securing the takedown, George surprisingly let Tavares get back to her feet where they traded blows, with Tavares getting the better of George cutting her on the left cheek. Not a lot of connection followed, as both fighters were able to showcase their defensive abilities, until George landed a hook to Tavares’ chin that sent her to the mat, where the fight continued, with both George and Tavares trading positions. After some time of inactivity the fight went back to the feet where both fighters traded blows and dodges; until George managed to secure a clinch and a single leg takedown to end the round.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 George
ROUND TWO: George started the second round right where she left it; but Tavares countered really well every blow thrown her way. George got the single leg takedown early and from there she took control on the side mount, with Tavares looking to pass guard to no avail. George managed to get in half guard and unloaded on Tavares with vicious elbows that would’ve gotten a grin out of Derrick La’Bell! Tavares tried to block as well as she could but the elbows kept coming, yet her efforts eventually paid off and she managed to pass guard and kept George from doing any more damage, to the point the referee stood both fighters up. After a back and forth round of punches, George once more looked for the takedown; once again George got it and started unloading with elbows, that Tavares looked to block with her forearms, until she managed to roll and reverse the position on George. Tavares used her position to take George’s back. Both fighters struggled in the position, Tavares looking to get the hooks in and George to avoid them. Tavares got both hooks in and looked for a Rear Naked Choke, to which George desperately looked to avoid. In the struggle, George managed to avoid any damage getting Tavares arm over her shoulder and rolling on the ground, reversing the position. George isolated Tavares’ arm looking for an Armbar; but Tavares sat up in a slick move to get her arm out of danger and standing up in the process. George threw an up-kick intended for Vanessa’s head, but Tavares leaned out of the way as the round ended.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 George (20-18 George)
ROUND THREE: Both fighters look visibly tired and it showed in their striking, as both fighters opened the round missing badly. Yet eventually one was supposed to hit and it was George who hit the strongest of the two. Both fighters stood in the middle of the cage, again, visibly tired; throwing kicks and punches that got either blocked or dodged. Tavares faked a move and launched a liver kick that connected, making George wrench back and Tavares pushed George into the clinch. They struggled but again, George managed to take Tavares down, this time with a double leg takedown, picking Tavares up and slamming her against the mat hard. They traded positions on the ground, but to the referee it looked more as if they were trying to get a rest and after a while, he stood both fighters up. They traded kicks, Tavares landing the most of them; then Tavares threw a sloppy punch that seemed to graze George’s eye, but the referee didn’t catch that up… utilizing the opening Tavares landed a bone crushing right hand that stunned George. Tavares pushed the pace but it was too little too late.

SYN SAETANG (0-0) vs REBECCA LACROIX (0-0)
Strawweight Bout
ROUND ONE: As the fight begins both Syn Saetang and Rebecca Lacroix take their time in meeting in the middle. It didn’t last long as the showtime jitters faded as they began to trade strikes furiously. Leg kick for a leg kick, punch for punch. Lacroix being first. Time passes Lacroix goes for a takedown and fails. Saetang responds working her way into the clinch but unable to take advantage at this time. They continue to play for the position in the clinch but soon Saetang gives in and lets go looking for another avenue. The feeling out stage continues through the round. Lacroix connects with a light jab and they trade on the feet once again. Light effect on either side, a mixture of grazes and misses from both. Lacroix hits the turn up button faking a punch and getting the takedown transitioning to a kneebar submission attempt. Saetang scrambles out and they get back to their feet. The round comes to end with a lot of swing-an-a-misses.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Lacroix
ROUND TWO: Good movement by both in the start of round two dodging each other’s attacks. Saetang looks to clinch as she did in the first, but Lacroix ain’t having it backing it up. Lacroix struggles to land while Saetang pressures her. Rebecca continues to back up and is not engaging. Syn isn’t appreciating it at all. Some may say Lacroix is running, some will say she’s setting up the bait. Lacroix catches Saetang slipping midway through the round. The misses from before start to hit the mark and Saetang feels the heat. Saetang goes for the clinch to slow down the warming up Lacroix. Once again she can’t get much and Lacroix fights out getting the fight where she’s been getting the better of Saetang. Saetang surprises Lacroix landing a stiff jab keeping her honest but the surprise returns to Saetang when Lacroix checks the leg kick. Saetang falls but gets up quickly to catch Lacroix off guard. Saetang rushes and Lacroix gives her a straight right hand more crisp than Sprite. The fact Saetang stays on her feet is a late Saturday night to Sunday morning miracle. Lacroix takes off from that point with Saetang on wobbly legs. Saetang fights back but from that point until the end of the round, Lacroix owns on the feet.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Lacroix (20-18 Lacroix)
ROUND THREE: Lacroix ended round 2 opening up and beginning round 3 she continued her dominance. Rebecca is off to the races darting everything from Syn Saetang’s midsection, down. Saetang isn’t giving up but she’s unable to land on Lacroix. This clinch attempt from Saetang toward the middle of the round is a desperate one. Lacroix dodges it and continues to pick her off from the midsection downward. Saetang’s legs are dust. When Saetang begins to move back the story has certainly changed from the beginning of the fight. Lacroix moves forward and you can almost see a smirk in her eyes knowing exactly where to go. Saetang’s legs are literally sacrificed to the God’s and Lacroix shows not one ounce of mercy to them. Saetang struggles to breathe and stand more than halfway through the entire round. She takes the fuck it even further and takes those same welted, belted, and dealt with legs and proceeds to KICK Lacroix with them! Killing herself more than Lacroix who just blocks them and watches Saetang fall to the ground. Lacroix follows right onto Saetang kicking her thighs and damaging them all the more. Lacroix allows her to stand up. For the last minute of the round Saetang’s few attacks are blocked or dodged by the fresher legged Lacroix. Lacroix responds by hitting the same left thigh in already bad shape. The round ends and it’s a mercy horn for Saetang.

ALISTAIR McKAY (0-0) vs KENNETH RODRÍGUEZ (0-0)
Featherweight Bout
ROUND ONE: The first of back-to-back Featherweight fights features two promising strikers to the table with Alistair McKay facing off against Kenneth Rodríguez. These guys didn’t waste much time getting it in gear as they closed the distance and began trading off bombs. Both fighters connected with several shots, but McKay brought the heat and clearly won the exchange. Rodríguez then circled out and tried to slow the pace down a bit. McKay would cut him off and catch with a big spinning back fist that rocked Rodríguez. The Menace looked wobbly on his feet and McKay threw another spinning back fist but Rodríguez was able to duck under that one. Both guys would then step back into each other and trade off wildly but didn’t come with my heat behind the shots. Soon the two were just hitting and air almost simultaneously they ate back to regroup. After circling around for a bit, McKay found his range and came in hot with a big hook to the body. Rodríguez hunkered over and ate a stinging one-two combo straight to the dome before finally getting his hands up to defend. McLay continued to throw flurries but were getting blocked, and Rodríguez came firing back with a hook to the body that just narrowly missed. Rodríguez resets his feet and comes in with a powerful uppercut that whizzes past a dodging McKay, in which McKay quickly counters with a lethal right hook that drops Rodríguez for the win.

STEVIE TAVOULARIS (0-0) vs PEDRO ITO (0-0)
Featherweight Bout
ROUND ONE: To say this fight got off to a quick start is an understatement. The two touched gloves, and Stevie shot for a single leg takedown that set the pace of the round. Ito established his guard for a moment, then turned Stevie over to take mount! Wasting no time, Ito switched for an armbar, but Stevie ripped her arm free before the lock could be completed, and passed to side-mount! Pedro tried to turn in, to transition back to half-guard, but Stevie swam around to his back, with one hook in. She threw a couple feints to get Pedro’s attention, and when his guard slipped, she reached for a banana split! For a second, it even looked like Pedro might tap, but he handled the pain and eventually broke Stevie’s grip. With his leg freed, he scrambled to his feet and backed up to force Stevie up again. It didn’t last long, as she shot for a takedown almost the moment the fight was restarted. Again, Ito got his guard, but Stevie stayed on offense, spinning for a kneebar! Before she could complete it, Pedro kicked himself free and, again, escaped to his feet. Stevie stayed on her back for a few seconds, trying to goad Pedro back down, but eventually the official stands her up. Before she could shoot again, Pedro ripped a combo of punches to Stevie’s body, finishing it off with a big overhand right to the chin! Stevie tried to counter with a series of jabs, but Pedro parried the shots and countered with wild punches! Neither connected solidly, but Stevie gets the better of the end of the exchange, with a 3 punch combo. She threw a body shot that missed, and Pedro countered with a 4 punch combo of his own, 3 straights and a huge hook that knocked Stevie down! Stevie threw constant kicks to Pedro’s legs, but didn’t do any real damage. Eventually, Pedro steps back and forces Stevie to stand back up, where he tagged her with a series of jabs, a huge hook to the body, and a massive uppercut that snaps her head back! In desperation, Stevie shot another double leg takedown, that Pedro wasn’t quite able to avoid. She passed straight to side-mount, but couldn't hold it. Ito got back to guard, and threw up a triangle! Stevie got her head free and passed to side-mount, but again couldn’t hold Ito in place, as he escaped to guard. Pedro turned Stevie over and moved to mount, landing a few punches that didn’t do any significant damage, but kept Stevie in place until the round ended. I’d have to assume the judges score this round for Ito, but Stevie’s takedowns may have stolen it for her.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Ito
ROUND TWO: Early in the round, Pedro landed a brutal combination that wobbled Stevie, then picked her apart with jabs. Pedro jabs his way in range, but Steive’s able to block most of them--but he lands a huge hook that knocks her down! Ito tagged Stevie repeatedly with kicks to the legs, while Stevie threw up-kicks to keep Pedro away, but while the noise was satisfying, neither did much damage. The official almost stood Stevie up when she connected with a huge up-kick to Pedro’s chin! While he recovered, she threw another that connected to the temple, and visibly swelled up Ito’s eye! Ito kept tagging her legs with kicks, but after being hit with a couple, Ito moved out of the way every time Stevie even looked like she was winding up. Eventually, Pedro disengaged, and forced Stevie to her feet--where Pedro slammed her with a massive looping right hand! Stevie was visibly wobbled by the punch, and threw a kick to try to keep Ito at range--he was able to parry her kick, though, and stepped in for a massive counter hook! Stevie shot for a single leg takedown that brought the fight back to the mat, and she immediately passed to side-mount. Pedro switched his hips and transitioned back to guard, then turned Stevie over and secured mount again! Stevie tried the same transition, but Pedro rolled Stevie all the way thru and took her back! Before he could attack much more, the round ended. Not as eventful a round--Pedro got a knockdown and finished the round in a dominant position, so he may have won it.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Ito (20-18 Ito)
ROUND THREE: Stevie started the round by throwing a series of leg kicks that Ito was able to avoid or check, then she moved into clinch range and jumped for a flying armbar! Ito’s arm was extended and the pain was visible, but he was able to ride it out and freed his arm! He passed to side-mount and locked Stevie down--the only movement Pedro was allowing was his own, when eventually passed into mount! He didn’t attack much once he secured the position, but Stevie’s attempts to transition were all blocked with relative ease. However, despite the movement, the official saw no real progress and stood the two up. On the feet, Ito landed a massive straight left that visibly stunned Stevie, then moved in for a clinch. Stevie tried to escape, but Ito kept the clinch tight. He forced Stevie backward, causing her to stumble, and that mis-step was all Pedro needed to drag her to the ground and pass all the way to mount! Pedro feinted an armbar that got Stevie’s attention, but Stevie locked him down to prevent any further attack. The official stood the two up after a few seconds of stalemate. On the feet, Pedro landed a huge, relentless combination that almost got the fight stopped! Stevie just got her defense up in time, then backed away from Pedro as he threw a looping right hand. Stevie countered with a jab, but didn’t follow it up--and Pedro moved back in with a series of straight punches! Pedro would secure a clinch, which Stevie immediately tried to escape, but Pedro kept his control, before he dropped for a single-leg takedown! Stevie locked her guard and secured and overhook on one of Pedro’s arms, looking for an armlock--but Pedro was able to rip his arm free. Stevie threw up a triangle, but Pedro blocked the choke--and Stevie switched her hips for an armbar! She was clearly in desperation mode, throwing everything she could at Pedro, but he was able to slip out and escape to his feet. The official stood Stevie up, but nothing more happened before the fight ended. Pedro got a knockdown, multiple takedowns, and was more effective in the standup. Easy round for him.

HAGEN LECKTOR (0-0) vs LOVELIE SAINT-CYR (0-0)
Welterweight Bout
ROUND ONE: Another set of back-to-back divisional bouts begins with our first Welterweight matchup between 9th World’s Hagen Lecktor and the Denver based Red Rocking Fighting’s Lovelie Saint-Cyr. The fight gets underway with a show of respect with a touch of the gloves. Hagen comes out of the gate shooting for a takedown and takes Saint-Cyr to the mat. After fighting for good positioning Hagen Lecktor tries to finish with a leg lock but Lovelie is able to break free from it. Inside Hagen’s guard, Saint-Cyr hits a sick reversal and gets Hagen in full mount. Saint-Cyr launches a couple of weak blows that have little effect. The two keep jockeying for position until Lecktor struggles and frees a leg. It's not any action going on so the referee brings the fighters back to their feet. Saint-Cyr aims with a leg kick but Hagen checks it. He goes for a kick to the ribs and Hagen blocks that with his arm before Saint-Cyr lands a low kick to Hagens right leg. Hagen Lecktor shoots for a double leg takedown before Saint-Cyr could get his feet back settled. Saint-Cyr stumbles to the mat but manages to pull Hagen into his guard. Hagen controls the position until Saint-Cyr reverses him once more and is back in full mount. Saint-Cyr launches some blows that don’t do much damage. Lecktor tries to escape from the guard and while doing so Saint-Cyr takes his back and gets a hook in. Saint-Cyr continues to work for that other hook and finally gets it in. He tries to sink in a rear naked choke but Hagen defends well against it. For the rest of the round Saint-Cyr tries to get that choke locked in but isn't able to and the round concludes.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saint-Cyr
ROUND TWO: Round two starts off with a big straight left hand from Saint-Cyr that lands clean on Hagen’s cheek. Hagen quickly switches levels and shoots for the takedown. He grabs ahold of a leg and is able to get Saint-Cyr on the ground. Saint-Cyr launches a few weak punches but Lecktor blocks them with ease. Saint-Cyr manages to close his guard around Lecktor but doesn’t make any advancements and eventually the referee brings the fighters back to their feet. Saint-Cyr throws a hook to the body and hits Lecktor hard in the ribs. Saint-Cyr follows that up with a spinning back fist but Hagen weaves it. The two start swinging for the fences and at the moment Hagen is landing the most. Saint-Cyr sends a kick to Hagens right leg again and it lands before he paws at Hagen. Lecktor swings but misses and a punch from Saint-Cyr grazes Lecktor's right cheek. He seems unaffected by it and both men circle the cage. Saint-Cyr fires with a high kick that grazes Lecktor's head, but he seems okay. They continue to circle before Saint-Cyr hits Hagen with another kick to his thigh. Saint-Cyr feints a move and moves laterally, then connects with a clean strike to the ribs. Lecktor feints a jab and shoots for the takedown. Again, he places Saint-Cyr on his back. Saint-Cyr tries to move on the ground and shows Lecktor a crack in his guard which he uses for a big elbow!l. Saint-Cyr's head bounces off the canvas and it’s enough for Hagen to try locking in a kneebar. After a moment Saint-Cyr escapes from the kneebar. Cody stands the fighters back up and they start exchanging wildly with both men connecting with punches. Saint-Cyr goes for a Superman Punch but Hagen dodges it and circles away. A good front kick from Saint-Cyr causes Lecktor to stumble backwards. He follows that up with three precise leg kicks before the buzzer sounds.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saint-Cyr (20-18 Saint-Cyr)
ROUND THREE: Final round and it’s go time. Lecktor jabs at Saint-Cyr and hits him on the chest then shoots for a double leg takedown. Saint-Cyr is taken off his feet, but he manages to pull Lecktor into his guard. Some deep breaths from Saint-Cyr who drops a hammer punch to Lecktor's ribs but Lecktor blocks those punches. Saint-Cyr tries to roll on the ground but Lecktor uses his leg to keep his position on the ground before he's reversed by Saint-Cyr as he gets full mount position. Saint-Cyr throws his leg over and rolls it into a armbar but Hagen quickly breaks free. Saint-Cyr keeps good positioning as Hagen tries to work from the bottom. With a slide of his knee Saint-Cyr transitions back into full mount. Lecktor tries to escape from the full mount but Saint-Cyr is not caught off guard and moves to side mount to keep his superior position. Saint-Cyr goes for an armbar and that thing is tight but Hagen grits it out and rolls back to his feet. Lecktor steps forward and Saint-Cyr catches him with an uppercut to the face! A lightning fast leg kick from Saint-Cyr gets checked before Lecktor changes levels and grabs a hold of Saint-Cyr's leg. Saint-Cyr scrambles and doesn't allow Hagen to get the takedown before he sends a hook to his ribs and follows up with another crispy uppercut. Saint-Cyr fakes a move and launches a liver kick that almost wrenches Hagen. A jab follows before Saint-Cyr turns with a spinning back kick that lands clean on Lover Boy's chin. Hagen continues to show his heart as he engages in a wild exchange with Saint-Cyr and they’re both connecting. Lecktor launches a kick but Saint-Cyr avoids it and lands flush with a counter hook. Saint-Cyr moves forward and tries a Superman punch but Lecktor dodges just moving aside. Hagen just circles the cage and Saint-Cyr attempts to cut him off with punches that’s got Lecktor reeling. A quick hook by Saint-Cyr gives Lecktor a good reason to be worried. He also lands a solid body kick but the bell sounds for the end of the fight. Hagen congrats Saint-Cyr on his victory knowing he lost this one before we send it to the judges.

D’ANTE JACKSON (0-0) vs ROYAL HOLT (0-0)
Welterweight Bout
ROUND ONE: Jackson and Holt move forward as the bell signals the beginning of the fight. D'Ante Jackson fakes a punch and shows some footwork moving aside. A bone shattering straight right hand from Jackson puts Holt in a world of pain. Holt fires back though with a furious hook but Jackson ducks under and pushes Royal away to create space before Jackson lands some solid body shots. Jackson grabs his opponent by the waist and tries to take the fight to the ground. After a brief struggle, Holt is able to stuff the takedown attempt and after creating some space, nails a single leg. Royal postures up and sends some solid blows to Jackson's face but D'Ante does a good job of defending them and gets himself to half guard before working to full guard. Jackson begins working the body and causes Holt to try and improve his position on the ground. He launches a couple of elbows against Jackson's ribs but they get blocked. Jackson rolls and gets to the top full mount before dropping a heavy ground and pound attack. Holt tries to roll out but Jackson takes his back. Jackson unloads a barrage of punches and elbows reminiscent of Derrick La’Bell. At this point, Holt can only cover up and Jackson tries to ride out the rest of the clock, but the ref steps in and brings them to their feet. Jackson lands a couple stinging jabs until the buzzer sounds and the ref steps in.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Jackson
ROUND TWO: Jackson comes out and immediately tries to get this fight back to the ground. He does and lifts Royal up before planting him to the mat. D'Ante sees a crack in Royal's guard and delivers a big elbow that rattles Royal. Holt's forehead is beginning to swell now. He also has a small cut on his forehead and looks a little dazed. Both coaches are screaming at the top of their lungs trying to get their fighters attention. Jackson uses the advice from his corner and switches to full mount where D'Ante repeatedly continues to land those vicious elbows. The referee pays close attention and asks Royal to defend better but he can't so he gets between the fighters before things get worse for Royal. Jackson runs to the 9th World corner where he celebrates the big win.

DeMARCUS GRESHAM (0-0) vs YOSHIDA SANZO (0-0)
Heavyweight Bout
ROUND ONE: The Heavyweights started the main event of night two off with a bang. After touching gloves with Yoshida Sanzo in the middle of the cage, DeMarcus Gresham got things going right away with a pinpoint spinning backfist that landed solid on Sanzo’s chin. This immediately forced Sanzo to look for a clinch to negate the striking of the Heavyweight boxing champion. Gresham wanted no part of that though, and the two fighters spent the first few minutes looking for openings and pawing with jabs to find their range. Sanzo landed a few clean shots a short while later, none of which seemed to phase Gresham much as DeMarcus continued working to find his timing and range. Yoshida Sanzo would then shoot in for a single leg takedown, only to be stuffed by Gresham with ease. Midway through the round, Sanzo made his way back to his feet to create some distance between himself and DeMarcus Gresham. He could be seen breathing heavily, trying to slow the pace of the fight. This led Gresham to kick into overdrive, unleashing a barrage of pinpoint punches on Yoshida Sanzo. We could see some immediate swelling on the right eye of Sanzo, and there was a chorus of shouting from his coaches in the corner that coaxed DeMarcus to use some of his own wrestling and shoot on his opponent. A smooth single leg takedown planted Sanzo on the ground, and DeMarcus transitioned to full mount right away. Sanzo began to do his best to try and get out of the bad position, but recognizing this, Gresham moved quickly to side mount to keep his superior position. NASTY elbows rained down here from side control, and Sanzo did his best to cover up. The ref was watching closely, mere seconds from stopping the fight, as DeMarcus Gresham slid his knee across and achieved the mount position once again! He postured up to drop bombs and put the fight away but the buzzer put an end to the momentum and saved Yoshida Sanz from a first round defeat.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Gresham
ROUND TWO: Round two began with Yoshida Sanzo trying to bring the fight to the ground. Gresham wouldn't budge however, and this forced Sanzo to pull guard. DeMarcus Gresham knew better than to stay stagnant on the ground, and he began moving position almost immediately to jump over into half guard. He doesn’t stop there though, and soon we see him find his way into side control once again. DeMarcus threatened some additional elbow strikes here but Sanzo wanted nothing to do with that shit. He quickly got a leg in and showed fluid BJJ to get DeMarcus safely back inside of his closed guard. DeMarcus was fed up with this guard shenanigans however, and he showed some tremendous skill by utilizing a can opener to break Sanzo’s guard just enough so that he could move quickly back to side control! Just like the earlier round, Sanzo is helpless as DeMarcus progresses right past the side control position to slide his knee across and get to mount! Deep breaths from Yoshida Sanzo here, who tried his damndest to land a hammer fist from the bottom position. Gresham blocked this with ease though, and the action kinda stalls out here. Cody Grant stepped in to stand up the fighters, they two warriors climbed back to their feet to the delight of the crowd. They continue the fight standing from here. Sanzo doesn’t want to brawl with the heavy handed boxer, so instead, he made the decision to shoot again right away for another single leg takedown. Gresham stuffed it, yet again, and Yoshida somehow powered back to his feet to create some distance and recover some air. He‘s really looking winded, and DeMarcus looked to capitalize on this by stepping in with a hard jab. Yoshida answered back with a huge flush overhand right that made Gresham stumble back a bit! Sensing that the shot rang Gresham’s bell a bit, Sanzo rushed in with a flurry of his own! DeMarcus Gresham showed unwavered resolve however, and slipped out of danger to launch a body shot of his own. Sanzo evaded the shot, shooting in for a double leg takedown that was shrugged off with ease. Yoshida uncorked a bone shattering left hand out of desperation, but Gresham was just too fast for the gassed fighter, making him look foolish as he hit nothing but air as the buzzer marks the end of the round.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Gresham (20-18 Gresham)
ROUND THREE: The crowd was raucous to begin the third round of action in the Heavyweight Main Event. Gresham wasted no time firing the first shot of the round, a beautiful lead left hook that tagged Sanzo clean on the nose. Sanzo reached up to wipe away a bit of blood from his now busted nose, and DeMarcus used this moment to close the distance and push Yoshida against the cage with double underhooks. Sanzo doesn't want to clinch at all, and he looked to duck under DeMarcus Gresham to move away. DeMarcus doesn't allow him to go anywhere. In fact, he transitioned instead to a single collar tie and promptly began crushing Yoshida Sanzo with brutal inside uppercuts from the dirty boxing position. Sanzo is clearly taking more than he can endure here, and it definitely looked like it might be the end soon if he were to be unable to escape! Somehow, by some grace of someones god, Sanzo managed to free himself from the violent ass whooping he was receiving in the single collar tie, and the crowd let out a roar as Sanzo instantly planted himself in front of DeMarcus and unloaded. DeMarcus fired back, and it turned into forty five seconds of a knock down, drag out, slugfest between the two big boys. It’s DeMarcus Gresham this time who decided to back up and slow the pace of the fight a bit, circling around his opponent as he watched carefully for an opening. .Out of nowhere, DeMarcus launches another spinning back fist that landed square on the jaw of Yoshida Sanzo.Yoshida stands firm though, and the two trade a wild barrage of punches again as it begins to look more like a boxing match than an MMA fight in the midway of this round. DeMarcus obviously has the upper hand here and he begins landing solid on Sanzo. Body, Body, Head. Yoshida found himself getting picked apart at the hands of the boxing standout. A particularly nasty shovel hook to the body nearly folds Sanzo over, and this leads Gresham to charge in again and secure the clinch again. DeMarcus pinned his opponent back against the fence like he had in the previous rund, and went back to work landing some punishing shots to the ribs of Sanzo. Wow. You can see the pain in Yoshida Sanzo's eyes, and his corner can be heard yelling for him to move from the bad position as DeMarcus continued with a flurry of punches. Somehow Yoshida managed to weather the storm, and this forced DeMarcus to shoot in quick to grind him against the cage for a takedown attempt. Sanzo fought it off well with a whizzer, so DeMarcus abandoned the game plan and popped right back up to land a crushing right hook to the jaw of Sanzo! SANZO IS ROCKED!! DeMarcus loaded up to put him away with an overhand, but the ref stepped in as the buzzer sounded to save Yoshida for the second time in the night.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Gresham (30-27 Gresham)
ROUND FOUR: We found ourselves in the deep water here as we began round four. Both men looked a little tired to start the round, but it was Yosida however, who looked the worse for wear as his eye was nearly swollen shut. This didn’t deter him though, as he came out and pushed the pace, plodding with his jab to establish range. Gresham at this point was showing no respect for the hands of Yoshida Sanzo, and he walked him down fearlessly. Sanzo tried to make him pay with a solid hook to the body, but Gresham was able to block it with ease. This led Sanzo to fake another punch, before shooting in for a desperation takedown again. Gresham saw this coming from a mile away and he took one step back and absolutely BLASTED Sanzo with a counter uppercut. Sanzo stumbled back, his corner screaming like crazy, DeMarcus charged in again! Gresham pushed his opponent back against the fence in a plum position only long enough to land another follow up SAVAGE right uppercut that crumpled Sanzo to the mat!! I’d be surprised if his jaw wasn’t broken the shot was so gnarly. The ref stepped in to pull DeMarcus Gresham off the downed fighter and Gresham immediately turned to celebrate with his corner. Sanzo seemed confused, and a bit dazed as the ref explained what happened.
