ROUND ONE: ScrapYard MMA brings their first Everest fighter into the mix, and though he’s technically making his MMA debut, this guy is no stranger to fighting. Caden Theirin is a boxer who still actively competes, but wanted to broaden his arsenal and decided to make the jump inside the cage. The Silver Knight showcased his boxing prowess early and often in this contest, quickly tagging his opponent with rapid combos to start things off. From there, Therein was adamant about working in the clinch, and completely took the wind out of Romanovich’s sails. Eventually the referee separated the fighters, but the end was near for Romanovich. Caden Theirin baited him in while circling away and starched him with a roundhouse punch that ended this one in the first round.

ROUND ONE: Maliyah Lyons was seemingly a star in the making when she made her Union GP debut. Starting off 3-0, she then hit a wall and lost her final three contests in her rookie deal. Never deterred, she decided to make the move to Everest to sharpen her tools, but unfortunately her Everest debut didn’t go as planned as she got caught and lost to Bevin Gordon-Starr from a flash KO right hook. It’s an unfortunate reality in this sport where anything can happen in a moment’s notice. In her second Everest fight though, she wanted to be more aware of those dangers. Andrei Kozlov opened the round with a nice takedown and looked to put his ground game on display. Despite working his way to the full mount, Lyons was able to hold her own on the ground and not allow Kozlov to get anything going. Lyons maintained her range with some solid leg kicks and went for a takedown of her own, but Kozlov was able to sprawl back and free his leg. Lyons was able to get back to her feet without absorbing any damage, and continued to work the leg kicks in. This setup a masterful spinning back kick that rocked Kozlov and nearly ended his night early. He managed to survive until the buzzer, but clearly he was still reeling from the effects of that kick.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Lyons
ROUND TWO: Andrei Kozlov was definitely cautious while Maliyah Lyons looked ready to open up her offense some more. The leg kicks from round one opened up her option for some kicks to the body which took a serious toll on Kozlov’s ribs. Lyons rushed in and hit a bodylock takedown to bring this to the mat, which is a place Kozlov is definitely more comfortable with. From the bottom, Kozlov tried to secure a triangle choke, but Lyons managed to slip free. Lyons then began pushing Kozlov up against the fence and switched to a half guard. Kozlov used the fence to roll, but Lyons took his back and looked to secure a rear naked choke. Kozlov managed to scramble out of the situation and both fighters popped back up to their feet. Lyons continued launching leg kicks that were leaving some very visible welts on the calf and Kozlov started getting sloppy. He went for a takedown attempt but Lyons stuffed it and forced him to pull guard. Kozlov looked gassed at this point and Lyons took over from there. She saw an opening and locked in an armbar. Kozlov tried to wiggle with way out, but Lyons had it secured, forcing Kozlov to tap.

ROUND ONE: The final bout on the prelims and we’ve got a quick turnaround for the number two ranked Strawweight, Syn Saetang, who’s ready to make a case for a title shot. However, things started off a bit rocky for her as Tavares came out of the gate guns blazing and tagging her with some short, rapid combos. Saetang weathered the storm and slowed the pace down by securing the clinch. Saetang turned the tide with some excellent dirty boxing and softened the midsection with a barrage of body shots. Saetang continued working in the clinch after pushing Tavares against the cage, until Tavares landed a brutal elbow that dropped Satang momentarily. Saetang sprung back up but Tavares got enough time to circle away and gain some distance. The two bounced back and forth with a solid exchange before Saetang went back in and secured another clinch. The outcome was different this time, however, as Tavares landed some solid body shots and connected with another big elbow that dropped Saetang once again. Tavares landed a kick to the thigh while Saetang struggled to show some intelligent defense. Tavares stepped back, gesturing and allowing Saetang to get back up. Back on the feet, Saetang came firing back with a spinning back fist and a calf kick before going back to the clinch once more. Neither fighter landed anything significant in the clinch and instead seemingly decided to run the clock out to this razor thin back and forth opening round.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): Tavares 10-9
ROUND TWO: If it weren’t for the two drops, Saetang would have clearly and easily won that first round, but there was a lot of tension coming into this one as it could have gone either way from the judges. It seemed that Syn’s corner made some proper adjustments during the break as she managed her range with some stinging leg kicks. For the first minute and a half, Saetang targeted the legs and was clearly bothering Vanessa Tavares as she started showing a more obvious limp as the round progressed. Saetang went back into the clinch, where Tavares tried to initiate some dirty boxing of her own. Syn wasn’t feeling it and slipped free and created some space. Syn played it smart and went back to the leg kicks to keep Tavares at the edge of her range and far enough to easily dodge anything thrown her way. Tavares was wearing down more and more with each kick to her leg and decided to just rush in and start swinging. The two exchange blows which got the crowd riled up but it was clear Saetang had control of the situation, landing more significant strikes before going back in with the clinch. Tavares was breathing heavy but wasn’t giving up and both continued exchanging inside the clinch. Saetang overpowered her opponent and pushed her back into the fence, leaving just enough separation to land a remarkable flying knee. Tavares was on dream street as she held onto Saetang with everything she had just to stay upright. This stalled the action long enough for the referee to step in and break them up. Tavares tried circling around the center of the cage to run the clock out, but Saetang pummeled her way into one last clinch before the buzzer. This round was unquestionably all Saetang as she kept her foot on the pedal while Tavares was running on fumes.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saetang (19-19 Push)
ROUND THREE: As we reached the final round, Syn Saetang found that second wind and looked ready to roll while Tavares’ adrenaline dump left her completely gassed. Saetang fired out of the gate, raining down bombs relentlessly. Tavares had no answer and was absorbing a ton of damage. The combination of punches continued even after the referee warned Tavares. Still she had no answer as Saetang continued walking her down and pressed her against the fence. The referee had finally seen enough and called this one off, giving an ecstatic Saetang her second win in a row.

ROUND ONE: To kick off the main card, we get a Heavyweight match-up between two top five fighters in Dimitri Kolovik and Dax Levandrier. Kolovik is looking to get back on track with a win, Levandrier is looking to go two-nil, all the while both eyeing on a title shot opportunity. Things started off slow as the two fighters patiently searched to find their range and get comfortable before dropping bombs. Dimitri made the first move by leaping in and securing a double collar Thai clinch. The two jockeyed back and forth for a bit before Kolovik went for a leg sweep. Levandrier showed some solid footing as he kept upright and from here, neither man worked in any action so the referee separated the two. Dax landed the first blow with a stinging right hand that put Kolovik on skates. Before Dax could follow up, Kolovik changed levels and shot a takedown, but again Levandrier was ready for it and sprawled back to stuff the attempt. Both fighters started loosening up from here and engaged in a couple of exchanges, with each one getting the upper hand on the other. The scale tipped majorly when Dax landed a big uppercut and then an overhand right. Kolovik was rocked here and tried to catch his bearing with a clinch, but Levandrier slipped free. Kolovik continued to lean on his grappling and tried a sweep single, but Dax read it well and countered with another big uppercut. Kolovik was cut from the shot and was leaking pretty badly, which might have triggered him to throw hands. The two exchanged wildly with Dax keeping the edge before hitting a single leg takedown of his own and catching Kolovik off guard. Once on the ground, Levandrier worked from the side mount position and with Kolovik’s blood affecting his vision, Dax started dropping some devastating elbows to the head. One right after another, Dax was in full control here and was able to pick his spots rather easily. The referee gave Kolovik a verbal warning to protect himself, but he continued to take some serious damage, giving the official enough reason to peel Levandrier off and call this fight off.

ROUND ONE: There was plenty of chirping going on for this fight, even if it came from one side. Fran von Licht returned to action from her title fight loss to square off against the odious C.C. Flynn. These two did not waste any time swinging for the fences. Fran and C.C. went back and forth, both landing some significant shots and countering all in one burst. The crowd was wilin’ thinking a stoppage could come at any moment, but these two persevered before Flynn finally backpedaled out of the firefight. Fran was heated and taunted Flynn, wanting some more action. Fran pressured in and came swinging, but Flynn was able to keep her head on a swivel and avoid anything significant. It appeared that Flynn was inadvertently poked in the eye during the evading, but the referee didn’t see it and the action continued. Flynn tried circling away to recover, but Fran cut her off and tagged her with a nice combo. The hands continued flying, with Flynn dodging some and countering back with a bone shattering straight right. That shot equalized the affair, and now the two were a bit more cautious in their approach. Fran was working behind the jab to dial in her range as was Flynn. From here, Fran and Flynn continued to be on the offensive, trading strikes back and forth, countering and landing some big shots. Fran was getting the upper hand and landed a big right hook that put Flynn to the mat. It was debatable if she slipped or the punch rocked her, but nonetheless she sprung back up to her feet and continued trading. During the exchanges, it looked like Flynn got poked in the eye again, and still the referee didn’t see it. Despite the visual impairment and the protest with the referee that fell on deaf ears, Flynn weathered the storm and was able to land a couple of big uppercuts that wobbled Fran. von Licht fired back with a stinging straight left that connected, but Flynn dodged the following shots after before the horn signaled the end. The crowd was on fire after the action-packed opening round and were salivating for the second.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 von Licht
ROUND TWO: Things looked a bit different in this next round. Fran showed her experience as she started to put on a striking clinic. She was able to mix things up now, landing shots to the head and body and counter anything thrown her way. During these exchanges, Flynn got split open, once under her right eye and once over her left eyebrow. Things were looking real bad for Flynn as Fran was running away with this fight, landing several upper cuts and haymakers. For a third time now, Fran threw a jab and poked Flynn in the eye, but this time the referee saw the foul and stopped the action. Flynn was awarded time to recover, and the referee warned Fran about keeping the hands clenched. After a few minutes, Flynn is good to go. Back in action, things resumed right where they left off as Fran continued to pick apart Flynn. There were a few glimmers of hope for Flynn who countered and dodged some strikes, but she was continuously having to wipe blood from her eyes, giving her a big sight disadvantage. Fran landed a big right hook that dropped Flynn, but quickly popped back up. With just a few seconds remaining, Fran unloaded a barrage of strikes that were tagging Flynn. The referee was looking intently, asking Flynn to protect herself. Fran starched Flynn with a hook that nearly lifted her off the canvas and the referee waved it off as he saw enough punishment inflicted.

ROUND ONE: In the final bout on the undercard, we have Derrius Webb and D’Ante Jackson competing for what feels like a title eliminator bout for a chance at the Welterweight Title next. Webb and Jackson touched gloves to start things off and Webb promptly got some offense going with some quick one-two combos. Jackson changed levels and caught the far ankle to hit a sweep single and brought it to the ground. Webb rolled to get a top full mount, but couldn’t get anything going, causing a stalemate and the referee to break it up. The two exchanged punches, with Jackson getting the edge. Jackson went for a takedown but Webb threw a knee that just barely missed but did it’s job in stopping the takedown. Jackson set up the takedown again, and got it the second time around. The two jockey for position on the ground, but Jackson was able to maintain control. Webb tried going for an armbar from the bottom but Jackson was able to slip free from it. Another stalemate ensued and the official stood them up. Webb landed a spinning back kick that rocked Jackson, then Jackson feinted a punch and hit a takedown to bring it back on the ground. The two jockey for position and Webb was able to roll to full mount. Jackson tried reversing but Webb ended up taking his back. Jackson didn’t panic while Webb tried getting a hook in and was able to roll out to get to a half guard position on the bottom. Jackson continued to stay patient and landed some blows to the head and body to run out the clock.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Jackson
ROUND TWO: Coming out of their corners to start the second round, Webb and Jackson were respectful and cautious in their approach. The two circled around looking for openings until Jackson set up and hit a textbook double leg takedown. The two jockeyed for position when they hit the mat, where Webb closed his guard around Jackson. Jackson then jumped to half guard, but Webb showed his underrated ground game and rolled to get a top side mount. Jackson worked to a full guard on the bottom and closed his guard before trying to roll. Webb kept a solid footing and denied Jackson from reversing the situation and after that the referee broke them up after neither one made any advancements. On the feet, the two traded shots back and forth, but didn’t land anything significant as they ducked and dodged. Webb then set up a perfect question mark kick that rocked Jackson, causing Jackson to quickly change levels and go for a takedown. Webb was ready for it though and stuffed it. The two went back at it with an exchange where Webb got the edge, countering and landing a few more punches. The two circled around a little more before coming in with another even exchange. Webb stayed persistent though and started picking Jackson a part, countering his strikes and tagging him with some solid jabs and crosses. Jackson tried another takedown but again got stuffed just as the horn signaled the end of the round.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Webb (19-19 Push)
ROUND THREE: We reach the final round of the contest and you can see that both fighters are reaching the point of exhaustion. Webb pushed through the pain though and connected with a flurry of punches and put Jackson in some trouble. Jackson fired back in an exchange where both mostly hit air before backing off. Webb landed a big head kick that wobbled Jackson and things looked to be nearing the end. Webb kept the pressure on, mixing up his striking with punches and kicks, causing Jackson to try and equalize the situation with a takedown. Webb stuffed the takedown once more, forcing Jackson to pull guard. The two jockeyed for position on the ground for a while, with Webb eventually working from an open guard, to side mount, and then to full mount. From there he tried ending the fight with an armbar, but Jackson was able to break free and hold on to force a stalemate. After the referee stood them up, you could feel a sense of urgency in the final moments. Webb threw an overhand right, but Jackson stepped back and landed some stinging jabs which wobbled Webb. Jackson rushed in and landed some more solid jabs and crosses, causing Webb to backpedal and avoid any further damage. Webb was still feeling the effects as he kept circling away to cool the fight down. Down to the last few seconds of the round and the fight, both fighters looked gassed as they left everything they had in a wild exchange where a lot of strikes missed their mark. Webb landed another question mark kick that rocked Jackson and he reacted with a sloppy takedown attempt that was easily defended. The final horn went off and the crowd cheered on both of these warriors for putting on a three round banger.

ROUND ONE: It’s time for the Co-Main Event and this one has the crowd buzzing. The fan favorite Lovelie Saint-Cyr was met with resounding cheers and not just because of his ties with Real Killas Vegas, but the fact that this man has nearly wiped out the division in phenomenal fashion. Things started off slowly and cautiously for both fighters as they closed the distance and worked on finding their range. Some feints and pawing turns into a wild exchange where Rozier lands a couple of solid strikes in the mix. Saint-Cyr and Rozier are not afraid to stand and trade, but also showcase their dodging ability as both fighters slip the big strikes. Rozier began to get the slight edge when he landed a couple of solid uppercuts and a hook. LSC retaliated with a massive hook of his own, which caused Rozier to hit the mat, although he was quick to get right back to his feet after checking a leg kick. Both fighters continued to show their agility, ducking and dodging shots thrown their way. The two continued to stand in the phone booth and trade blows, and Rozier was getting the upper hand in a few of those exchanges. Eventually he stepped back to cool down and run out the clock, feeling confident in his performance. This was definitely a close round. Rozier landed more strikes but Saint-Cyr got the knockdown, which I lean ever so slightly to the champ’s favor.
Isaac Cohen’s Scorecard (Unofficial): 10-9 Saint-Cyr
ROUND TWO: Both Saint-Cyr and Rozier come out of their corners having some battle scars to show as they kick things off once again. Rozier does not waste much time this round as he tagged LSC with a big haymaker. He ducked a strike thrown from LSC and countered with a stinging straight left that put LSC on skates. Saint-Cyr tried circling away to regroup, but Rozer rushed in and landed a big superman punch that put Saint-Cyr in some serious trouble now. Legs wobbling and a big gash on his forehead, Saint-Cyr tries working behind the jab but Rozier kept piecing him up. The two engaged several more times, but Rozier was running away with this one and was turning up the heat. Saint-Cyr had no answers and got dropped but got back to his feet. Tre Rozier continued storming him with punches and backing him up against the fence. Saint-Cyr sprung off the fence and ate an overhand right that was crispy enough for the official to wedge in and call this one off.

ROUND ONE: Finally we reach the main event of the evening. It’s a fan favorite, a Killa Party here in Vegas. Undefeated Champion Alistair McKay defends his title against fellow camp-mate Rebecca Otskheli. McKay has quickly been growing in popularity with his ruthless knockouts and many have been screaming for his call up to Union GP. Unfortunately for Otskheli, this fight was no different. It was a blink and you’ll miss it flash KO, where Alistair McKay threw an absolutely filthy overhand left that instantly turned the lights out on his training partner. If there ever was a fighter ready to make the move up, it was without question “Artillery” Alistair McKay.
